Lansdowne Veterinary Hospital Reviews
My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Derek, with the care and health of our fur kids since the early 2000s; starting with our two Boxers and two cats.Following with our two Pitties (and same little old men cats). He has always been kind, straightforward, knowledgeable, and compassionate when it comes to the health, examinations, and procedures regarding our fur babies. My husband and I only want to see Dr. Derek, as well as all of our babies who love him (and every vet tech). He's been there for us with each passing of every one of our babies, showing empathy and time to spend saying goodbye to the beloved before being carefully sent for cremation. Always a lovely sympathy card signed by him and the whole staff. And the cremains have always been treated with respect until we could pick them up and take them home.Forgive my wall of text, but I can't say enough good thingsabout Dr. Derek and his staff.I'd hate to see any other Vet.
Apr 28, 2025 · BadKittyThe 3 stars is for the staff they are very nice and treated my cat with kindness, On the other hand the doctor was kind until I asked him for a price of everything. Then Dr. Derek turned a bit passive aggressive. After saying the price he would constantly say "I wouldn't want to turn you away to a cheaper clinic" like dude calm down I just want to know how much I'm spending. I felt that was quite rude as it was said multiple times. He also said my cat had a leaky heart because he was from west Philly. I rescued my cat but it definitely wasn't in West Philly. I don't wanna say it was a race thing since my mother took her cat here but really left a bad taste in my mouth.. Maybe he has asperges and doesn't know how to talk to people. Granted he was bouncing from patient to patient but that doesn't excuse the rude language. I'll give them another chance but if I visit and this behavior continues I will no longer bring my animals here. He seemed like he was trying to be kinder at the end of the appointment but The commentary left a sour taste for my first visit. The pricing wasn't bad and was affordable. This is also the only vet that didn't give my cat any treats it seems they like dogs more than cats. I'm seeing people who brought in dogs (reviews) say they gave treats and cheese snacks to their dogs? My cat got nothing he was just scared
Jun 09, 2025 · Natasha GabrielI liked that the vet recommended a wait-and-see approach for my cat’s non-urgent medical issue. He could have recommended more tests that would have been uncomfortable for her and expensive for me. Instead, he told me what to look out for so I would know when/if she needed to come back.My cat has been healthy since then :) I am glad that I was able to take her to a vet that could help me better understand her health situation and avoid unnecessary pain/expense.
Apr 11, 2025 · Marjorie LorraineThough the staff was polite we ended up getting charged for essentially no services, was told our cat was "too feral" to be seen yet we had no trouble with him at home, and tried to upsell us on products we didn't need and couldn't afford.
Jun 20, 2025 · Savannah CorizThe people in the office are very nice and helpful. The doctors have a deep knowledge and experience with pets of various species. I love the place!
