Choosing the right veterinarian is one of the most important decisions you can make as a pet owner. Lone Rock Veterinary Hospital is a deeply-rooted part of the Bailey community, and many clients have entrusted them with their pet's care for years. One touching review highlights the compassionate veterinary care received during a difficult time. The owner of a beloved pomchi shared that the clinic "gave us ample time with her" when they had to have her put down. The same customer later brought in their other sick dog and had a very positive experience, describing the staff as "amazing, kind and very thorough." They specifically praised their vet, Jackie, for being "very explanatory, comforting and spoke in understandable terms," highlighting a key strength of the practice: their ability to connect with pet owners and provide clear, empathetic communication. The gratitude from this client, who thought the worst might happen, is palpable, and they credit the clinic for their dog getting better.
It is important to acknowledge that every clinic may have challenges, and one must always consider all information. A review from a different customer shared a heartbreaking experience regarding a missed diagnosis and difficulty in obtaining medical records. This customer's frustration stemmed from a series of events that led to a late diagnosis of a serious condition for their dog. While this is a devastating and personal account, it underscores the importance for all pet owners to remain vigilant and communicate openly with their veterinary team. The vast majority of a clinic's success lies in its consistent and compassionate care, which is a common theme in the positive feedback from clients who have had long-standing relationships with the hospital. Lone Rock Veterinary Hospital's deep-seated presence in the Bailey community, its wide array of specialized services, and its documented history of compassionate and thorough care for many clients make it a strong and viable choice for pet owners in the area. Their commitment to offering everything from routine wellness to advanced surgical and alternative therapies showcases their dedication to comprehensive animal health.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Back in December, I took my dog there for diarrhea. They ran bloodwork and prescribed antibiotics.Three weeks ago, the symptoms returned. I called Lone Rock, but they couldn’t get her in, so I went to another vet. That doctor immediately noticed swelling and did an ultrasound revealing a large, inoperable liver tumor. She’s now been given a devastating diagnosis.Naturally, I called Lone Rock to request her medical records. I called every day for nearly TWO WEEKS. Each time, I was given excuses: they were too busy, it would take too long to print, they were short-staffed, etc.I finally lost my patience, and after demanding they be ready that day, I picked them up just two pieces of paper. And what did I find? Her liver levels were 4x the normal range. No one ever told me. Had I known five months ago, I might have had time to help her or at least prepare for what was coming.I have four dogs and have spent thousands of dollars with Lone Rock over the years. But after this heartbreaking experience, I will never go back. Please be cautious and trust your instincts. Our pets deserve better.Do not go here!!!! Go to Bighorn in Pine.
May 12 · Kristy WilliamsWe are clients of lone rock. Had to have our beloved pomchi put down a couple years ago. We were given ample time with her....We have our other dog that we had to take in recently as she was sick. The staff there is amazing, kind and very thorough. Our vet Jackie was amazing! Very explanatory, comforting and spoke in understandable terms. We love this place! Our dog is getting better and we're very appreciative as we were thinking the worst...❤️❤️
March 21 · Laura FallThe doctors here could not have been more helpful. They squeezed us in for an appointment when our dog was dying after our own vet of more than 10 years told us they couldn’t get us in for a week and to go to an emergency vet. Lone Rock ran tests to help us assess the situation and were so kind and supportive when we made the decision to lay him down. We will be taking our dogs here from now on.
May 13 · Moira CaseyI had to make the extremely difficult decision to humanely euthanize my sick old cat. She has been very unwell for a long time but recently stopped eating/drinking and she cried out in pain every time she pooped or peed and hadn't used the litter box in weeks. She's a skeleton of the glorious cat she used to be. My once feisty kitty laid limp in my arms covered in my tears as I waited in the exam room for 45 mins. The vet came in and instantly decided she wasn't sick/old enough. She pointed out that my cat is only 19 and their office cat is 21 (I so badly wish my cat could live that long). She shamed me for considering euthanasia and recommended dental work and blood tests which isn't the right choice for my old cat with no fight left in her. I would've never put my cat or myself through that had I known that they don't believe in humane euthanasia. Luckily for us, there is another local vet that is showing us compassion during this extremely difficult time.
May 01 · Liz CarThe waiting room is the size of my bathroom and if there is more than one animal in the waiting room, the tension is palpable, especially if you have a small pet and someone brings in a four legged tank. Our dog had to be rushed to an in-town ER a day or two after a dental cleaning and extraction and the ER advised he had aspirational pneumonia. I. E. not bacterial or viral. (We incurred over $8000 in medical bills). Despite our two dogs being in the same weight class for pain medication dosages (according to Dr Google), they prescribed our male dog (8 lbs) half the dosage than our other dog (9 lbs) who went through the same procedure on the same day and labeled him a "bad boy" before his dental work after he nipped at the vet when she impatiently tried to pick him up off the floor during a panic attack on the tile during weigh in. Would not recommend. Go to Crow Hill instead.
