Olde Towne Fenton Veterinary Hospital: Beckman Tami D DVM Introduce
For pet owners across the St. Louis metropolitan area and particularly those in the Fenton, Missouri, region, Olde Towne Fenton Veterinary Hospital serves as a locally established resource for general veterinary care. The clinic operates under the direction of skilled professionals, including Dr. Tami D. Beckman DVM, offering a broad array of medical, surgical, and preventative services aimed at maintaining the health and longevity of dogs and cats.
The hospital is committed to promoting client education and preventative medicine, emphasizing routine wellness checks and timely intervention for potential health issues. They understand that pets are cherished family members in Missouri households, and the team strives to partner with owners to ensure their companions receive personalized, compassionate care throughout every stage of life. From routine annual check-ups to comprehensive diagnostic laboratory services, the goal is to provide attentive and thorough healthcare.
While many long-standing Missouri businesses build a solid reputation over decades, it is important for prospective clients to consider the full range of client experiences when choosing a veterinarian. The hospital has received numerous positive reviews over the years, with clients frequently praising Dr. Beckman for her thoroughness, the team for being caring and professional, and the overall compassionate approach to difficult situations like end-of-life care. One long-time client noted, "I love Dr. Beckman, she takes the time with each and every concern your animal has and thoroughly checks their condition and gives and accurate diagnosis." Another mentioned the staff going "above and beyond" during a pet emergency.
However, it is also essential to note the accounts of pet owners who have had challenging experiences, as documented in public reviews. One detailed account from a long-term client cited concerns regarding an initial misdiagnosis and a secondary infection resulting from a cat fight that was reportedly missed during the first few visits, leading to subsequent complications and further treatment elsewhere. The client expressed disappointment over a lack of apology or refund after the error was brought to the clinic's attention. Prospective clients should take the time to research all public feedback and discuss their specific concerns with the clinic staff to ensure a comfortable and trusting partnership is established for their pet's care.
The hospital’s range of veterinary services is extensive, covering nearly all aspects of general practice medicine. They strive to be a full-service option for local pet owners.

Olde Towne Fenton Veterinary Hospital: Beckman Tami D DVM Reviews
- I have been taking my dogs to Fenton Veterinary for the last 19 years. In that time I have had 4 dogs. I currently have two 7 year old Dachshunds. On 15 August 2014, I took one of my dogs into the vet because he had been in a fight with a cat the day before, and he was not acting right, he was lethargic. The Vet was not immediately available so I left my dog in what I thought were the good hands of the vet and staff. I received a call later that day that I could pick up the dog, and that my dog who had been completely normal 2 days ago had CANCER! What about the cat fight? I was told that I probably just missed the signs of cancer, the blood test showed very low platelets, so it had to be cancer.Four days later and the third vet visit I was told my adorable dog had Fatty liver disease, because the platelets were back up but the liver enzymes were elevated. The Dog had not eaten or drank water on his own, I was force feeding him with a syringe for 4 days. This is the most important part. The evening of that third vet visit, I noticed that my dog had left the smallest amount of blood on my bedspread. When I did a thorough examination of my dog .. he had several small cuts on his chest that were swollen. My husband and I immediately took our dog to Webster Groves Animal Hospital. The nurse looked at me and informed me that they needed to shave the dogs chest and possibly legs... When the did they discovered that the cat that our dog was in a fight with had scratched his chest in 15 or more places, and he was suffering from a secondary infection.I wound up taking my dog to the Vet every 3 days from August through 3 November. When I stopped and informed Dr. Miller and the staff about what they had missed, and show them a picture. Dr. Miller said "We should have caught that!"No apology, no refund of the any part of the $610 that they charged me, not even a card!I will never recommend this veterinary clinic again nor will I subject my dogs to sub-standard care. - We've been bringing our animals here for years (my husband's family even did when he was younger). I've always felt like we've gotten excellent care from both Dr. Miller and Dr. Beckeman. Over the last several years we've gotten to know Dr. Beckeman very well - we first started coming to her more due to scheduling- but now we ask for her because we have such a good relationship and she knows our pets. She's thorough, always explains things (two, three times if needed), is patient, and treats my animals as if they were her own. My daughters usually accompany me and Dr. Beckeman will answer their questions as well and has shared additional information with my 16 year old who has aspirations of being a vet. Heather and Juliana are great to work with too! The front office staff is friendly and accommodating and keeps things moving smoothly and quickly. Doctors aren't perfect and we must remember that...but I do believe that they come to work every day to do the best they can for our pets. I highly recommend both Dr. Beckeman and Dr. Miller.
