I’ve been with Oldtown Veterinary for quite some time now. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. The Doctors are very attentive to addressing my questions and concerns. If there is an over the counter alternative to help reduce costs they will offer that recommendation first. That is one of the likes that stays at the top of my list which keeps me coming back. Also, if there are no appointments available and they can work you in the schedule they do not hesitate to do so. I highly recommend Oldtown Veterinary Hospital for all your pet needs! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I do my own research and have hesitation when it comes to particular pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens. At past vets, I have been scolded and guilt has been used in attempt to change my mind - making going to the vet an unpleasant experience. Dr. Jarvis heard my concerns without judgement and had an educated conversation with me. She respected my informed decisions even if they differed from hers and did not continue to push the treatments I was uncomfortable with. She spent a lot of time with me in the room at each visit addressing my concerns and wasn't in a rush to get to the next patient. I am so happy and relieved now that we found Dr. Jarvis!My only complaint is they take the animals in the back to do the exams and treatments instead of doing it in the exam room with the owner. I understand the benefit of this (animals behave better without their owners & it is easier for medical staff) but it is still not my preference. Additionally, our first visit at this new vet my dog met the doctor and was examined before I got to meet her. I think I should have been able to meet the vet before they treated my dog to make sure it was a good fit before we proceeded with care. That being said, I am still very happy with the care we received from Dr. Jarvis and we will continue to see her!

Dr Gates did the surgery, she was super detailed in explaining exactly what happened, the process to repair it and recovery. In the follow up visit the physical therapist went over a detailed four month plan stating what my dog could do and what I could with exercises to aid recovery. Top notch service here.

We attempted to call Lap of Love to say goodbye, but he went downhill fast the day it snowed decent. We took Mac down the steps of my condo, placed in a blanket, the pup that refused to be carried anywhere, let us take him down 2 flights of ice covered stairs in a blanket. But before we did that, I did call Old Town, they contributed in my opinion to removing any chance of chemo Mac could have gotten had they done their jobs. I called and waited on hold 3 different times in the morning when they were open all for the phone to just be hung up. Imagine that, the vet that couldn’t manage to diagnose him because it was his “allergies” also couldn’t manage to pick up the damn phone when I was at the end of my rope. More so, my other senior pup Mae had a full check up, blood work, and X-ray when she had been in during September. Mae has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia, and again, I demand a damn answer from the clinic as to why I paid for services to keep my pets healthy and they chalked Mac’s lymphoma up to his allergies and Mae well, was just going to start “moving a little slower because of her age”. NOTHING MORE THAN ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT.Dear SANDY, the office manager at Old Town. YOU CALL ME. STOP BEING CARELESS AND LAZY. Take note of how I called you and was hung up on while I waited and then when my dog was in absolute suffering - they still couldn’t manage to even pick up the phone. FIND MY FILE AND YOU CALL ME.I am absolutely appalled by the treatment I received from Dr. Strickland and the Old Town Vet Clinic. My beloved 4-year-old pitbull, Mac, was in dire need of medical attention and I was met with a complete lack of empathy and compassion.When Mac presented with a concerning lump, vomiting and refusal of food and mass intake of water, Dr. Strickland's initial diagnosis was completely off-base. Instead of addressing the real issue, he insisted on unnecessary treatments that cost me a significant amount of money. Such as claiming his lump was from his allergies and ear infection he had in August. He said to renew his ear drops and bring him in for a cytopoint shot and that should remedy the problem. Despite the lack of improvement, the clinic refused to provide any meaningful assistance.After being met with the challenge of a very sick dog and unsympathetic vet, I decided something had to be done and this clinic did not care if I lost my precious Mac. They have zero understanding apparently of the bond between an owner and their animal. I decided to put Mac in the car, where we drove 10 hours, to get him to his old vet at Southside veterinary hospital in Vero Beach, FLORIDA. Yes, you read that right - I had to take my dog that wasn’t eating or drinking on a 10 hour road trip so he could get the proper help he needed. His old vet said once he examined Mac and ran his bloodwork, “thank god you brought him here to us when you did.” Mac was diagnosed with Lymphoma, with lumps in his neck, clavicles, and knees. His calcium levels were out of sight and at the max. His body was drawing calcium from his bones. Mac only has maybe 2 months to live, if that. My dog was suffering and this clinic didn’t give a damn. They just want to focus on that card swipe.The most disheartening aspect of this experience was the clinic's complete disregard for Mac's well-being. When I requested a payment plan to ensure Mac received the necessary care, I was met with a cold and unsympathetic response. They suggested I contact the humane society, knowing full well that they only treat animals in their care.It is clear that this clinic is more concerned with financial gain than the health and welfare of their patients. I urge anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere. There are countless other veterinarians who genuinely care about animals and will do everything in their power to help them.
