Paws at Peace Introduce
For pet owners in Oklahoma facing the heart-wrenching decision of saying goodbye to a beloved companion, **Paws at Peace**, led by the deeply compassionate **Dr. Reeves**, provides specialized and comforting end-of-life veterinary care. Operating primarily out of the Edmond, OK, area, this practice focuses on delivering a peaceful, dignified transition for pets through in-home services, ensuring the final moments are spent in the safest and most familiar environment: your own home, surrounded by loved ones.
Dr. Reeves is consistently described by clients as one of the most compassionate, respectful, and gentle individuals they have ever encountered during this immensely difficult time. His approach is designed to make an "unpleasant experience more bearable," focusing on the pet's comfort and the family's emotional needs.
The service is highly personalized, as demonstrated by the case of Ragnar, a magnificent 10-year-old German Shepherd. Dr. Reeves not only arrived promptly but was knowledgeable about the specific, "terrible cancer" Ragnar had, offering a full, clear explanation that surpassed the previous general veterinarians. This depth of medical understanding, combined with an unhurried, gentle, and caring process—including time for goodbyes and even heartfelt hugs—is the hallmark of Paws at Peace. The goal is to facilitate a passing where the pet "peacefully passed in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loved ones," creating a truly serene and final memory for pet parents across the Oklahoma City metro area.
While Paws at Peace is based in Edmond, OK, its specialty is providing services directly to clients in their homes throughout the service area, which includes Edmond, West Guthrie, Piedmont, Yukon, Warr Acres, Bethany, Nichols Hills, The Village, and North of I-40 OKC. This in-home model significantly reduces the stress associated with transporting a sick or elderly pet to a clinic.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Dr. Reeves certainly made a very unpleasant experience more bearable with his gentle, compassion manner. Our boy Ragnar, a magnificent 10 year old German Shepherd, was losing his valiant battle with a terrible cancer, and it was time to let him go. Dr. Reeves arrived right on time first thing in the morning and, after seeing Ragnar, assured us that we were doing the right thing. He was knowledgeable about the type of cancer Ragnar had, and explained it fully to us, much better than the veterinarians that treated him had. He then explained the process to relieve our boy's suffering and gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes for now (even our pastor says that dogs go to Heaven). Dr. Reeves was very gentle and caring in the process, and Ragnar was soon relieved. Afterwards, he spent additional time with us, listening to some of our remembrances, even hugging the wife and me both and helping us load his body into our Tahoe for transport to the crematorium (he'll actually do that as well as your request, I believe). I would highly recommend Dr. Reeves to assist you through this type of difficult time. February 24 · Robert Stack
- Dr. Reeves is one of the most compassionate, respectful, and kindhearted individuals we have ever encountered. He was so careful and gentle with our beloved Romy and so patient with us. Romy peacefully passed in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loved ones. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Reeves. February 11 · David Alder
- Dr. Reeves helped both of our beloved boys, Max and Vinny, across the rainbow bridge. Our heeler left us the summer of 2022 and our chiweenie went to meet him in Heaven yesterday. While it can be incredibly difficult to be certain it's time to let them go, there was comfort in knowing we couldn’t have made a better choice in having Dr. Reeves help guide them to heaven. The amount of compassion, patience and love he shares during such devastating times is a true gift. It brings peace to my family and I that our boys were comfortably at home and surrounded by love when we said our goodbyes. We will forever be grateful for Dr. Reeves and his services, and couldn’t recommend him more for anyone else facing such hardship. Dr. Reeves is an angel on earth. Thank you so much for everything you do for our families. December 09 · Katy Foley
- We had to say good bye to our precious Bailey and Dr. Reeves made this a much more bearable experiences. In home euthanasia was some much more comfortable and less stressful for our girl - she as able to be at home in her comfy bed, surrounded by her loving family. Dr. Reeves was so compassionate and even mailed us a sweet personal sympathy card later. Dr. Roach communicated with us right away and talked us through the cremation process, continuing to offer sympathy and support. Overall the experience with Paws at Peace made such a difficult time much less stressful. June 01 · Jessica Thorpe Martin
- I cannot say enough about how amazing Dr. Reeves was during our visit. Our beloved dog had to be put to rest and he came to our home. He explained what would happen and gave our sweet Axel some cheese whiz when they met. We were able to say goodbye to our sweet boy in our home and Dr. Reeves prayed over him and our family. I would recommend Paws at Peace hands down. Dr. Reeves has an amazing bed side manner and is truly respectful of your beloved pet and your family. We had thousands of amazing days with Axel and one bad day, Paws at Peace made that horrible day a little easier and much more peaceful for our boy. November 03 · Monique S
