★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1if i could leave no stars i would. i took my cat a week ago to be neutered & now he’s gone. he passed away. he was completely fine and healing the way he was supposed to. then all of a sudden he started to hide in places he couldn’t be found. the night before he passed away he started to throw up , stop eating , and drinking his water. he laid in front of his bowls wanting to drink and eat so bad but he was so tired and wore out. the next morning he was somewhat okay, trying to get up but still so tired and exhausted, then he started to throw up again. i called the vets office and when i talked to them they said it didn’t sound like it was from his surgery & to call back if he got worse. he then started to get better , until he got worse again & then before we knew it he threw up and started to seize. and then within minutes he was gone. i am so angry and what’s going on and dealing with the grief of knowing my baby is gone because of this. if i would have known that this vet was as bad as it was and people had these issues before he would have never , NEVER gone there. knowing that my boy didn’t get the type of treatment he deserves makes me so angry and upset. i’m so sorry to the people that have dealt with him and stuff that has happened there , you and your pets deserve so much more.
July 05 · amber stroupCalled the because my dog had been throwing up for a week. Was told that they are booked up until next week. Really? The parking lot is ALWAYS empty and they are all booked up? We consider this issue with our dog to be urgent just as their website implies, but they turn us away. So if my dog is seriously ill, you want me to wait a week? Unbelievable! It is not like we are new patients, we brought our dogs there for teeth cleaning, and they didn't even call us the next day after to see how our dogs were doing after the procedure. One of my dogs has had trouble with the recovery from the teeth cleaning and we had to call them to get meds for the coughing and not being able to catch his breath. It seems they only care about the getting the procedures done without regard for any follow-up care to see how the animals that are in their care are doing. Its pretty shameful to lack empathy for these animals and then when you need them they turn you away. We decided to use them for being local and I am now beginning to realize why their lot is empty. There is a real issue with their business model that lacks customer service and empathy. Cost has never been an issue as I would spend whatever it takes for my fur babies and It was my belief they held the same regard for animals which they do not. I will be taking my business else where. For those of you whom are considering this vet, understand they do not have any follow - up care, or check ins, and they always claim to be "booked" however they advertise for urgent care. The vet himself has very little bedside manner. Save yourself the stress over worrying about the care of your animal and find someone else. If I could give zero stars I would but google doesn't allow it. NOT RECOMMENDED.
February 21 · armando sotomy friend had her cat neutered and he came home with parvo, now it’s slowly spreading to the other animals she has. i didn’t recommend this place when i had my german shepherd, and i wont recommend it now.
July 10 · Tabitha MolockTook our kitten Emma to get spayed. Was looking at her belly today and you can't even tell she's been cut into really and you only know something has been done because her belly has been shaved. Amazing! Last cat I had, I took to a reduced fee clinic that had pets lined up out the door. When I picked her up they barely gave instructions and when I looked at her scar, it was horrible! I thought that was a normal looking scar until I saw Emma's. Now I REALLY know how horrible the other one was. You truly get what you pay for and I'm sooooo happy that Polk Veterinary is taking care of Emma's health needs. I'm beyond happy and impressed with the vet AND the staff. They've always been super nice and helpful. You guys are a keeper. Thank you.
July 23 · LyndsayWorst place you could take an animal in need. My dog was literally dying in my car and I was told I needed to call first and shown ZERO sympathy
