Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation Introduce
In the vast landscape of animal welfare organizations in California, the Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation stands out as a truly unique and heartwarming institution. More than just a simple cattery or animal shelter, this non-profit organization is a sanctuary built on a foundation of profound respect and love for felines. Located in Jurupa Valley, the foundation's mission is simple yet powerful: to provide a safe, permanent, and loving home for homeless domestic cats, to encourage responsible pet ownership, and to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering. The foundation is named after a legendary feline mascot of an elementary school in Los Angeles, a cat named "Room 8," who became a celebrity for his loyalty and intelligence. This legacy of compassion and community is at the heart of everything the foundation does.
What truly sets Room 8 apart is its strict no-euthanasia policy. This is not just a phrase on their website; it is the unwavering commitment that defines their purpose. Any cat that comes into their care is guaranteed a home for life, whether it finds a permanent adoptive family or lives out its days at the foundation's facility. This provides a safe and secure environment for approximately 80 cats at any given time, each one receiving individualized care, nourishment, and affection. The cattery is a clean, no-cage environment where cats are free to roam and socialize, creating a much more natural and less stressful living situation than a traditional shelter. The foundation's philosophy is rooted in the belief that every cat deserves a chance at a happy life, regardless of how long it takes to find a home.
The foundation is run by a team of incredibly compassionate individuals and is supported by a dedicated network of volunteers. Their passion for cat welfare is evident in the attention to detail in their daily operations. Volunteers regularly visit to groom and socialize with the cats, providing them with the human interaction and affection they need to thrive. This loving environment not only benefits the cats but also makes the adoption process more personal and fulfilling for potential owners, as they can spend quality time getting to know the cats in a comfortable setting. The foundation is a testament to the power of a caring community, and its work is entirely dependent on private donations from individuals and groups who believe in their mission.

What makes the Room 8 Memorial Cat Foundation an exceptional choice for anyone in California looking to adopt a cat or support a worthy cause is its profound commitment to life and well-being. The powerful testimonial from a volunteer who adopted their cat, Jake, ten years ago, speaks to the foundation's success in creating lasting bonds. The "no-kill" policy is a crucial factor, as it guarantees that a cat's life is not on a deadline. This peace of mind is invaluable for both the cats and the people who care for them. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Room 8 is an exceptional organization dedicated to securing permanent homes for cats. This organization adheres to a strict policy against euthanasia; any cat that does not find an adoptive family will remain in their care for the entirety of its life. The facility is staffed by incredibly compassionate individuals who ensure that all cats receive proper nourishment and attention. They are provided with toys for entertainment, and numerous volunteers regularly visit to groom and socialize with the cats. It is truly heartwarming to witness the care they receive. I personally volunteered at this organization, which is how I came to adopt my cat, Jake. I have been fortunate to share my life with him for the past decade.
August 01 · PJRoom 8 has so many wonderful kitties in need of a good home! It's very clean, and the cats seem all very well cared for.I bought a kitty from the shelter, and I believe that they get the kitties from here..not sure . At Room 8, you can spend all the time you need with the cats all roaming around you. You can pet and hold them. At shelters, you just have to kind of pick. This place is great and the owner is very kind and friendly.I very strongly urge you to come in and adopt one of these kitties today ❤️I haven't even had mine for a week and love her already. She's an angel!!

The cattery is a happy and safe place for cats and kittens. Gail and her team go above and beyond to try and help every cat that comes in. If you are looking for a place to volunteer or adopt check out Room 8!
February 08 · Erin dos Santosif you adopt from room 8 or petco make sure to triple check for any illnesses, diseases, infections, etc. i adopted a kitten from petco, which came from room 8, and the kitten had ringworm. i didn’t know what it was i thought it was dry skin. my family ended up getting ring worm as well and my niece ended up getting it on her scalp, causing her to have a bald patch. not only was it the kitten i got but there were other kittens/cats infected with ringworm. pls be careful with adopting an animal because i wouldnt want someone going through the same thing. this was a very traumatic experience and a strong lesson learned when it comes to adopting.
