Ragnarok Cattery Introduce
For California residents in the market for a purebred cat, particularly a Ragdoll, or those needing a place to board their feline friend, breeders and catteries are a common option. Ragnarok Cattery in Jurupa Valley has a long history in the cat breeding community, specializing in the Ragdoll breed for over 40 years. This establishment is presented as a destination for those seeking a specific type of cat, offering a variety of colors and a legacy of breeding.
The cattery is known for its long-standing presence and its reputation as an authority on the Ragdoll breed. As one customer noted, the business has a history dating back decades, and the cats are described as being kept in a "Safe, Healthy and in a Clean environment" by a caretaker who resides next to the cattery. The cattery's commitment to the Ragdoll breed, and its deep roots in the community, is highlighted by clients who appreciate its specific focus and long history.
However, it is important for prospective customers to be aware of the full range of public information available. While some reviews praise the cattery, others raise significant concerns. One particularly distressing review describes a kitten that was allegedly sold in a poor state of health, with symptoms of severe illness including diarrhea, congestion, and seizures. The reviewer claims the kitten later passed away despite several veterinary and emergency room visits. This client's experience highlights serious issues with communication and the alleged health of the kittens at the time of purchase. Such reviews are a crucial part of the research process for anyone considering a purchase from any breeder.
It is clear from the available public data that this cattery has a mixed reputation, with a dichotomy of reviews ranging from highly positive to extremely negative. For potential customers, this means that a thorough and careful investigation is essential before making any commitments. The long history of the business and the praise from some clients for the breed's quality should be weighed against the serious health and communication issues reported by others.

Choosing a cattery for a new kitten or for boarding services is a deeply personal decision, and it is crucial for California residents to conduct thorough research. When considering Ragnarok Cattery, there are important factors that must be considered. On one hand, the cattery's decades-long history as a breeder of Ragdoll cats and the positive comments from some customers about the breed's quality and the cattery's professionalism are worth noting. For enthusiasts of the Ragdoll breed, finding a breeder with a long history and a reputation as a specialist can be appealing. The mention of an on-site caretaker and a "Healthy and in a Clean environment" in some reviews suggests a dedication to the well-being of the cats.
However, the serious concerns raised in a highly detailed negative review cannot be ignored. The account of a kitten being sold with significant health issues, subsequent lack of communication from the business, and the ultimate tragic passing of the kitten is a significant red flag. This review suggests potential issues with kitten health and sanitation practices within the cattery, a critical consideration for any pet owner. The claim that the kitten was suffering from what appeared to be a virus or poor health highlights the importance of vaccination records and health guarantees from any breeder. The reviewer’s experience of poor communication and a lack of support after the sale is also a serious point of concern.
Given the conflicting information, a cautious approach is highly recommended. The most responsible choice for any potential customer is to visit the cattery in person, ask to see the living conditions of the animals, and request to see the health records of the kitten and its parents. It is vital to ensure that the environment is sanitary and the cats appear healthy. This is especially important for the Ragdoll breed, which can have health predispositions like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and polycystic kidney disease (PKD), making a responsible breeder who performs genetic testing an absolute necessity. Therefore, while Ragnarok Cattery has a history that may be enticing, it is the responsibility of the potential buyer to be vigilant and ensure the health and welfare of any animal they consider bringing into their home. The decision to choose this business should be made only after a thorough personal investigation to verify the claims and counter-claims found in public reviews.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I could give zero stars I would. I bought my kitten a few months back and the process of getting him was beyond difficult due to this business not answering and pushing the time further to pick up my kitten. In addition, when I received my kitten he only had half of his whiskers and when I asked the lady why she had said it was due to him “getting rough with his litter mates” which literally makes no sense. The next day I woke up to my kitten having bad diarrhea, congestion, runny eyes, and was very lethargic. He had swollen eyes, a runny nose and so many seizures. I called the girl who runs this and they told me that it was “normal” and that it should go away, needless to say it never did. I would text and call all the time because they had said to contact if there was any questions but as usual there was no answer. After several vet visits and emergency room visits my kitten passed away yesterday. I truly believe this business gave me a sick kitten, and I tried everything in my power to save him. He wasn’t more than 6 months old. My kitten suffered for months due to whatever virus he had and as I’ve read in these reviews my kitten isn’t the first to be sick or pass away. They either don’t truly vaccinate their kittens, or do a poor job of keeping them in good health before giving them to a new family. This place needs to be shut down. My kitten is finally at peace but my heart is completely broken. As you can see in these pictures below he was suffering and in pain and swollen. RIP kiam, you were loved and cared for and will never be forgotten.

September 10 · Gabriel MorenoI bought a cat from them. When he died of old age, I went back and bought another. They have a personality strain there that's SUPER friendly and relaxed. Follows me everywhere...
March 29 · Louise RansilI love my kitten and would spend every dollar I have to keep her healthy. That being said, when I picked her up. I was told one of the other kittens scratched her eye. After immediately taking her to the vet. I was told she had an upper respiratory infection that comes from having too many unvaccinated cats and one small confined area. Her eye was not scratched; it was a bad eye infection.Ragnarok Cattery told me she was 12 weeks old but the vet said she was no more than 8-10 weeks. Which is too young to be away from her mother. Now, her immune system is weak, get sick often and has chronic allergies, runny nose and eye infections. I’ve spent over $3000 in vet bills. This is after, paying $2000 for the kitten.
February 09 · SGSo sad to see all the bad reviews. I have a beautiful male ragdoll that I purchased for $800 7 years ago. People used to come from all over the country/world for these kittens. You'll note that the good reviews are several years old; that's because Dave loved the breed and took care of them. I called to get a second ragdoll a couple of years ago and found it difficult to get information, that the adult children were now involved, though they had not been interested when I had been there years before and the prices had doubled. Had the same experience with - "we'll send pictures" - and never received any. So glad we decided not to pursue the 2nd one. Grateful we got our boy when we did. He is healthy and gorgeous. So sad to see what's happened.
