Springville Veterinary Services Large Animals offers a specialized range of veterinary services tailored exclusively to the unique health requirements of large animals. Their expertise ensures that horses, cattle, and other farm animals receive dedicated and knowledgeable care. Based on customer reviews and the nature of a large animal practice, their services likely include:
- Equine Veterinary Care: This is a core focus, including diagnostics, treatment, and preventative care for horses of all disciplines and ages. Services would encompass lameness evaluations, preventative dentistry, vaccinations, deworming, and management of various equine diseases and injuries. As highlighted by a customer, Dr. Joe is "excellent and helpful with my horses issues."
- Bovine (Cattle) Veterinary Care: Providing comprehensive health services for beef and dairy cattle, including herd health management, vaccinations, reproductive services (breeding soundness exams, pregnancy diagnosis), lameness, and treatment of common bovine illnesses.
- Other Livestock Services: Depending on the local agricultural landscape, this could extend to care for sheep, goats, pigs, and potentially other farm animals, including routine health checks, vaccinations, and treatment of specific conditions.
- Field Services / Farm Calls: A crucial aspect of large animal veterinary care is the ability to conduct farm calls, bringing veterinary services directly to the animals' location. This is essential for animals that cannot be easily transported or for herd health management. The review about the vet coming when the miniature horse couldn't get up strongly indicates this service.
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Health Issues: Expert diagnosis and effective treatment plans for a wide array of large animal health problems, from acute injuries and infections to chronic conditions. The example of the miniature horse recovering due to the vet's advice illustrates their diagnostic and treatment efficacy.
- Preventive Health Programs: Developing and implementing tailored preventive health programs for individual animals or entire herds/flocks, including strategic deworming, vaccination schedules, and nutritional counseling.
- Emergency Services for Large Animals: Given the nature of large animal health, emergency response is critical. While not explicitly detailed, the immediate response to a horse unable to get up suggests a commitment to urgent care for critical situations.

Springville Veterinary Services Large Animals Reviews
Dr. Joe was excellent and helpful with my horses issues. Every time I call everyone is super friendly and helpful.
Dec 03, 2024 · Courtney DonovanMy miniature Horse couldn't get up. The vet came and told me all I had to do to make her better so I took his advice right away and my horse is back in good standing.
May 15, 2019 · Ari LashelleI love Dr. Joe, he has been caring for our horse for many years. Prices are reasonable. He is kind and compassionate. I wouldn't want anyone else to care for my horse! 🙂
Mar 17, 2024 · JulieI wish I could give them zero stars. My horse was having some health issues that were unresolved but I was working on treating. I was visited with the plan to get vaccines and talking about her condition and we decided to draw blood instead of getting the vaccines on April 20th. I drove the blood to their office that day in order to get results quickly. By the following Wednesday I had not heard from them so I called in the morning and was informed that the bloodwork results were in but I needed a vet to read me the results. I was told that Dr. Joe would call me by the end of the day. He did not. When I called the next morning I was told he would call me by the end of the day. He once again did not. I called again at the end of the day and was told I would get a call. I did not. On Friday (4/28) in the late morning or early afternoon I called again after not hearing once again and it was agreed that the bloodwork would be emailed to me. I got it and realized that only the hematology report was there and that the rest was missing. I emailed back and did not get a response. The next week the owner of my barn called and was told there was an error on the rest of the results. This was never properly communicated to me. At the point, 5/3, Dr. Joe finally calls me and leaves a voicemail. I called back and left a voicemail with all of the information that I had, and stated that I would be using a new vet. I am now getting invoices for services that were never done to my horse and for the bloodwork results I never received. I am lucky my horse is okay, because if something serious was going on their negligence could have killed her. From what I have heard from other horse owners and my own experience, this practice has gone downhill and is no longer a reliable or responsible source of veterinary care.
Jul 17, 2023 · Carson ManninoI wish I could give 0 stars. When I first used them things where great always did their best. But after an incident I quickly learned that the vets and staff like talk andnrun their mouthes about people giving info that is confidential and should of never been spoken of. Sadly they showed they can not be trusted.
