What truly sets Sweet Home Veterinary Hospital apart is the genuine, personal connection the staff and veterinarians form with their clients and patients. Customer reviews consistently highlight this compassionate approach. A key highlight is the incredible empathy of the staff during difficult times, as noted by a client who was navigating the loss of their aging dog, Fargo. The beautiful card from the entire office staff and the empathetic care from Dr. Peters and her assistant during euthanasia were deeply appreciated and spoke to a level of care that goes far beyond the clinical. The continued support, with Dr. Lewis and her staff being "very helpful and quick to respond" to monthly medication requests, solidifies the feeling of a supportive partnership.
Furthermore, a client with a very shy dog, Lilo, praised the staff for making her feel "so comfortable." This shows the team’s skill in handling animals with specific needs and personalities. The staff's willingness to "work with" a client to find the "best solution" for medications when affordability is an issue demonstrates their commitment to making quality care accessible. This kind of flexibility and understanding is a rare and valuable quality in a veterinary practice. The fact that a long-term client is "truly going to miss" the staff after moving out of state underscores the strong, lasting relationships they build. These reviews paint a clear picture of a hospital where kindness, expertise, and a willingness to help are paramount. The ability to handle both small and large animals, from the same clinic, also positions them as a uniquely versatile and vital resource for the Sweet Home community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had an aging dog, Fargo, and an even older cat, Frank, who is 19 yrs old now. We lost Fargo a few months ago. We navigated his collapsing trachea with the help of Dr. Peters, who showed great empathy and caring for both Fargo, and my husband and I.Frank is very healthy, other than getting very slow and deliberate with his movements due to arthritis. And he now needs Thyroid meds daily. So for many months now, it seems like we were always requesting meds for both pets. And sadly, we had to have Fargo euthanized. Dr. Peters and her assistant tried to make our visit as empathetic as possible. We received a beautiful card from the entire office staff, which was greatly appreciated. Between all of this, and the monthly med requests, Dr. Lewis and her staff are always very helpful and quick to respond. I just want folks to know that I know that our pets are getting the BEST care, and I highly recommend the Sweet Home Vet Clinic. And we especially want to send extra appreciation to Dr. Peters for all of her care. She's amazing!
August 04 · Judy RobesonAlways the best care ever. They are so nice to my very shy dog and make her feel so comfortable. They always are willing to work with me when it comes to getting her medications. If I can't afford it they always find the best solution for me. I am getting ready to move out of this state and I am truly going to miss all of them at the vet hospital. We have been going there since my Lilo has been a puppy. Thank you all for all the amazing things you do for all the animals in sweet home. You are all so nice and caring when it comes to our animals. Thank you again
June 25 · Karie LutzSweet Home Vet has many great qualities:All of the vets are sweet, helpful, competent, patient, friendly and great with the dogs. I do not have to request a particular vet to avoid anyone...I really appreciate that.Vaccine special: I appreciate as a non-profit rescue this special; it really helps me as a rescue get what I need without high cost. The office and exam rooms are clean and quiet. Everyone is competent.Prices are higher than many vets. A shampoo product I purchased was $4 higher than at another vet I use.Mistakes: everyone makes them, but I do not think that clients should pay for them. I brought a poodle puppy in because I knew she had an ear infection. I was told she did not. 3 weeks later, it was much worse. Then it was diagnosed and treated. I think some ear hair was plucked. That night the dog cried all night in pain. I needed to go in both of the following two days. The bill for an ear infection was $350. That is high.I appreciate the many fine qualities of this practice.Thank you.
July 09 · Jenny JulianSweet Home Veterinary Hospital was fantastic! Appointments were easy to make, the staff was always friendly, and they even had a rewards program to help with future visits. My daughter would drive all the way from Salem because she trusts the vet and knows her dog is in great hands. We moved out of the area and will miss this Vet.
April 29 · JenniI am new this veterinary clinic and I must say the staff is super friendly and completely professional. Everybody seems to smile here, even the clientele!
