★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We raise Siberian cats, and having a vet we can trust is important. Stayton Veterinary Hospital has done a fantastic job caring for our cats and kittens. We know we can trust them whether it is a simple exam, spay or neuter, or echocardiogram. They have worked us in for emergencies, and helped us learn to care for things on our own when appropriate. Stayton Vet is truly our partner in this venture.
May 24 · Meredith LundbergI am a Pomeranian Breeder. I have been breeding since the 80's. And have lived in various country"s. Though Veterinary care is quite spendy in the US. I have found Stayton Veterinary Hospital to be very thorough in their exams. They keep good records, And you typically leave feeling confident in their decision making. With that being said. If you have to spend the money? I would trust them with my Fur Baby before a Budget Veterinarian.God bless.Marie Donily,Mac Daddy Poms
August 10 · MAC DADDY POMSWow! Terrific service. Super quick check in as I had to drop off my dog first thing in the morning and get to work. The vet called to let me know her injury was just a sprain, no ligament tear-hooray! Everyone was friendly and professional. Their hours are convenient. And the clinic is so clean. Prices are very fair. What an asset to the community.
May 22 · Michelle WadeAll rabbit owners beware!I had to wait over a month to write this review due to being so sad and upset. I did not want to write a review out of anger but rather a true account of what happened. So here is my honest review. My first experience was when I took our family rabbit (large NZ/CA mix) in to have a swollen nipple looked at. Michael Reynolds drained it and said it was Septic Mastitis. He said there was not much he could do and prescribed the dumbest thing possible. He gave me large meat flavored dog tablets. Really? For a rabbit? How are you going to get a rabbit to eat those? There were other options all better and more appropriate. So, we treated her with over-the-counter medication and that cleared 90% of that up. What she needed was a direct injection of antibiotics and for it to be drained.2nd trip to the vet was when I took her in to be spayed. After 5 weeks she became sick and not eating and bloated. They did an ultra sound & X-ray and found a blockage. They were quick to dismiss any complication with the recent spaying they did which this turned out to be 100% untrue. They gave me powdered stuff to give her but after a few days it was worse. I took her back on a Saturday where they scanned her again and could see the blockage and gas build up. They did nothing. Nothing at all!!! Just sent me home where she later died a horrible screaming death at 4am in front of my kids and wife. What caused this? A bloated rabbit after spaying could indicate several complications, gastrointestinal stasis, adhesions, or a more serious obstruction. While adhesions are a normal part of healing, they can lead to problems like intestinal obstruction. Gastrointestinal stasis is a common problem in rabbits, and post-spay, it can lead to a build-up of gas and fluid in the digestive tract, causing the abdomen to appear bloated. They never mentioned this or talked about things to look for. Simple baby gas drops for $6 at Safeway would have reduced and relieved some of this and bought her time to make it to another vet that was competent. The vet that saw her Saturday repeated over and over she knew nothing of rabbits. Really? And you’re a vet? NO attempt to save her or even a recommendation! If you knew nothing about rabbits then call the dam person who does! After her death, I called and talked with extensively (paid for their time as well) 2 other Vets who actually have certifications and specialize in rabbits. We went over every detail and it was the opinion of both that surgery was the only option and should have been done immediately when she was first taken in. Not given pain killers and powered stuff. That drive and passion to do absolutely everything to save the life of your animal they seem to lack. Happy to take your cash but they sure won’t pull out any stops to save your pets life. Every effort to save our beloved snowballs life should have been made. But on that Saturday, all I could hear repeated was how much they don’t know about rabbits and how it could not possibly be related to the spaying they just did. It was like they wanted to distance themselves from this issue. Please, all rabbit owners find a different vet if you value your rabbit’s life. When something serious goes wrong they not only won’t help but may in fact like with me end up causing the death of your pet because of they seem to lack critical knowledge of rabbits and possible even the equipment but I don’t know about that part. But hey you will get a sympathy card in the mail! Kudos!Bunnies are one of the most delightful and sweetest animals to have around and are generally very low maintenance. But when you need a vet, it is important you choose the right vet for your bunny. A vet who knows, a vet who cares and a vet who is willing to pull out all stops in an emergency instead of excuses. They maybe great with dogs and cats and the easy text book stuff but you want the best for you beloved little furry bunny. So, look elsewhere because you won’t find that for your rabbit here.R.I.P Snowball, my beautiful sweet angel without wings
May 28 · Jeremy SigelThe staff is always kind and friendly. I like that my Trixie is remembered and gets to see the same doctor and vet techs each time we come. My questions are always answered and Trixie is well taken care of. Other family members also use the office as well. They are at great team to take care of your furry family members.
