Synergy Veterinary Behavior offers a specialized range of services focused entirely on addressing and resolving complex behavioral issues in pets. Their programs are designed to be comprehensive, integrating veterinary medicine with behavior modification and training.
- Behavior Health Assessments: These are patient-centered, two-part consultations with a board-certified veterinary behaviorist (like Dr. Valli Parthasarathy, PhD, DVM, DACVB). The first part typically involves an in-person physical and behavioral evaluation of your pet. This comprehensive assessment aims to understand the underlying causes of the behavior, including potential medical contributions.
- Treatment Plans: Based on the assessment, a customized treatment plan is developed, often combining behavioral modification techniques, environmental enrichment, and, if necessary, medication.
- Private Training Packages: Offering individualized training and support with experienced and certified trainers. These packages are tailored to specific behavior goals and are suitable for addressing a wide range of needs, from foundational skills to complex behavior modification for issues like aggression, reactivity, and fears. Sessions can be virtual or in-person.
- Group Training Classes: Various group classes are offered, both in-person and virtual, designed to be inclusive of dogs of all temperaments, including shy or reactive dogs, ensuring a positive learning environment.
- Vet Care Recovery Program: A specialized program designed to help pets that become extremely stressed or fearful during vet visits. This program aims to make veterinary visits easier for both pets and their owners.
- Bite-Sized Behavior Consults: Affordable, in-person consultations with a skilled Behavior Clinician for dogs and cats, designed for families with financial constraints.
- Medication Management: As licensed veterinarians, their behaviorists can prescribe and manage behavioral medications when appropriate, which can be crucial for severe cases of anxiety, fear, or aggression.
- Muzzle Training: Dedicated guidance on muzzle training to help pets become comfortable with muzzles, promoting safe handling and reducing stress during necessary procedures.
- Cooperative Care Training: Teaching pets to willingly participate in their own care (e.g., grooming, vet visits) through positive reinforcement, reducing fear and force.
- Environmental Enrichment Advice: Recommendations for stimulating toys, games, and environment modifications to improve a pet's mental and physical well-being.
- Concerns Addressed: They help with fears and phobias (e.g., thunderstorms, fireworks), reactivity and aggression (towards people, other animals), house-soiling, destructiveness, excessive vocalization, separation distress, compulsive disorders, and age-related behavioral changes (cognitive dysfunction).

Synergy Veterinary Behavior Reviews
Dr. Froelich is amazing! She taught our clinic all about fear free dog handling. We had a very reactive dog come in and tried to bite us. Because we were empowered with the knowledge from Dr Froelich, we were able to get the client on board with the muzzle initiative and by the end of a series of visits, the dog was so happy to be here he didn't want to leave. He was his tail and gets excited to see his muzzle. Thanks so much!
Mar 22, 2025 · Leslie TaylorAmazing vet staff and trainers. Our very sensitive dog used to be absolutely terrified of noise and being outside and we’ve seen amazing progress since working with Synergy! It’s been a long process and a lot of work but we are so glad we came to them. Their group classes are fun and they do a great job of making them enjoyable for reactive dogs. They are also very inclusive and welcoming to the humans on the other end of the leash, we have never felt judged or blamed for our pup’s fears.
Jun 16, 2024 · Krystal ROur dog Calamity Jane was extremely fearful when she came to Synergy. She would freeze, hide, or bolt in almost any new situation or around new people. Getting her to the vet, having guests over or even going on a walk with her was extremely challenging. After working with Synergy, she's doing so much better. She'll even voluntarily greet people at the door, or enjoy a relaxing hike in a new, quiet environment. We can't recommend Synergy enough.I've submitted before and after pics of her in the same situation (the vet) so everyone can see the difference.
Aug 04, 2023 · Eric EisbergSynergy Behavior Solutions exceeded our expectations and we honestly can't imagine what our relationship with our dog would be like without their guidance. When we first reached out to Synergy, our dog had debilitating anxiety and very little socialization. They did an excellent job balancing medical and behavioral interventions. Dr. Valli was very kind and thoroughly explained the medications and any potential effects. We also worked with Lorena for behavioral training. Lorena took the time to understand our dog, his needs and his comfort level. We took a slow, positive approach to training that helped us connect with our dog and build a base level of trust. Five months later and our dog is thriving! We still have things to work on but they are much smaller in magnitude and I feel we have the tools to continue working with him on our own. Thank you Synergy!!!
May 21, 2021 · Aliza LipmanWe joined Synergy's new separation anxiety program for our dog. At that time, he couldn't be left alone for more than an hour (if that). We were apprehensive about the cost. However, it was incredibly successful and definitely worth it to get our lives back and help our pup be comfortable! We had training sessions with Grace, she was very supportive of our dog and my partner & I. Dr. Valli and her team are very knowledgeable and approach behaviors through a holistic lens. We addressed allergy issues that may contribute to our dog's stress level. I highly recommend Synergy.
