Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital Reviews
Very very polite staff, I brought in my baby Murphy for some nasal discharge and the staff warned me they go slow with birds so it might take a while and honestly it was very quick and Murphy doesn't seem to be traumatized so I'm very confident they are great vets and techs. Everyone was professional and understanding when I asked my silly questions. Highly recommend this place and if problems in the future arise I'll be back.
Jul 18, 2025 · A E (Blink)We love Texas Avian and Exotic! From the ladies in reception to Dr Schimek, Katelyn, and Sydney, the staff as a whole is amazing! They show their love and passion with each visit, and they show true care and concern! We met them due to an E Cuniculi scare with one of our 2 year old buns a little over a month ago and we have brought her back twice since AND our two newest buns had their initial vet check before we introduced them to our existing fluffle. Our two newest buns had their own special needs to be addressed, and Dr Schimek took her time with each and on follow-up visits, remembers them, and again, cares. It's a vast difference from our annual vaccination vet. They have been able to squeeze us in with short notice, and while the costs may be a little steep, there is a reason, and in our eyes its justifiable. We would gladly and happy recommend them to any exotic pet owners in the DFW area.
Jun 23, 2025 · Tammy WeatherlyFirst, I would like to thank the front desk crew for being so calm and understanding while I was panicking over what to do over the phone. They squeezed me in too see an avian vet, even though I could have gone to the emergency vet nearby. I struggle with trust issues from past experiences with other vets, and I had liked the vets here from a previous appointment.I had taken in my green cheek conure here after she attempted to lay an egg and prolapsed. I drove from two hours away after calling in a panic and when I made it there they immediately took her in and it didn't take long for them to give me a rundown of what was happening, treatment plan, and pricing. They kept me informed at every step following her surgery, providing updates on her condition. My conure is doing very well now and is back to her old self. I'm really glad I came here!I've been to several vets and I can say, without a doubt, this is my favorite. If you need an avian vet, please choose this one.

They were able to see my chameleon on very short notice when we were dealing with a health issue. From the moment we arrived, the staff was kind, attentive, and reassuring. Thanks to their fast action and expert care, my Chameleon is on the road to a full recovery. We’re beyond grateful — I highly recommend taking your pet
Jun 06, 2025 · Maya SI don't know how to adequately express how grateful we are for the care this hospital provides. Our rescue quaker, Steve, has had some significant health issues since we adopted him earlier this year. Dr. Jones has gone above and beyond in trying to diagnose and treat him, and he's doing very well today because of her care and diligence. The techs and doctors are so sweet, and took extra time to love on Steve and give him snuggles while he was hospitalized. I have the utmost trust in and respect for every staff member at this hospital and cannot thank them enough. (Steve says thank you, too!)
