Wellness Examinations: Routine check-ups are the cornerstone of preventive care. These include thorough physical examinations, discussions about nutrition, weight management, parasite prevention, and behavioral assessments to ensure your pet's long-term health.
Vaccinations: Essential immunizations tailored to your pet's age, species, lifestyle, and local disease prevalence in California, protecting them from common and serious infectious diseases.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Illnesses: Comprehensive services for diagnosing and treating a wide array of medical conditions, from common infections to more complex internal diseases. The quick response to a cat's infection and subsequent procedure highlights their capability in this area.
Surgical Procedures: While specific procedures aren't detailed, veterinary hospitals typically offer various surgeries, ranging from routine spays and neuters to minor soft tissue surgeries. Their ability to perform a procedure for an infection suggests surgical capabilities.
Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, examinations, and potentially extractions, crucial for maintaining oral health and preventing systemic health issues.
Diagnostic Services: Utilizing tools such as in-house laboratory testing (e.g., blood work, urinalysis) and potentially radiography (X-rays) to aid in accurate and timely diagnoses.
Emergency/Urgent Care for Established Clients: While not a 24/7 emergency hospital, their ability to provide "last minute appointments" for urgent concerns indicates a strong capacity to handle non-life-threatening emergencies and provide quick care when needed.
Pain Management: Developing strategies for managing pain associated with injuries, chronic conditions, or post-surgical recovery to enhance your pet's comfort and quality of life.
Nutritional Counseling: Expert advice on proper diet, weight management, and supplements to support specific health needs or overall well-being.

Urban Pet Hospital Reviews
10/10 veterinary office!! Dr. Andres and his team truly care about your pet. Having worked at various vet offices in San Francisco I can speak firsthand to the utmost care and honesty this medical office provides. Dr. Andres responded very quickly to my concern about my cat Cauliflower's infection that hadn't healed and got her in for a procedure the next morning.Urban Pet got me in for TWO different appointments on a last minute basis. It isn't easy to find this level of care as some places can be booked for weeks at a time. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby girl :)
Apr 07, 2025 · Isabella CantilloI can't recommend this place enough. I was able to schedule a last minute appointment with Urban Pet Hospital, so that my dog, Max, could get the quick care that he needed. The whole team was amazing/caring. All services were priced very reasonably. I'll definitely be coming back in the future!
May 01, 2025 · Turner HurbisWe love it here. The team is great and especially Nikki who handles all communications and makes us at ease during challenging times with our pets. She is knowledgeable, kind, communicative, and so helpful. We are endlessly grateful for all she does.We have been happy with our vet Andreas as well who is very thorough and has done a great job caring for our babies!
Feb 04, 2025 · Mark DetrowThe folks at Urban Pet Hospital are friendly, professional, and maybe most importantly, compassionate. They took great care of my cat with basically no notice at all and there were no surprises when it came time to pay. Thanks for a great experience on a stressful day.
Mar 29, 2025 · A.C. AntonelliDO NOT GO HERE FOR EMERGENCIES!! I am appalled by the experience I had here. I came in as an emergency for a bad cat scratch to my newly adopted puppies eye. I was told that our only option would be to have his eye removed, that it had to happen immediately, and that it would be $6-10k. Thank goodness I decided to ask the rescue our puppy came from for advice and they said to see an eye specialist. As a new dog parent, I didn’t even know that was an option and Urban Pet Hospital never mentioned seeing a specialist as a possibility. The next day the specialist (from Animal Eye Care in Pleasanton) performed a much cheaper surgery (3k) and his eye and vision are completely saved. I don’t want to blame the staff at Urban Pet because they were really emotionally supportive, rubbing my back as I cried and telling me to take my time in the check up room. Maybe they are just really poorly trained? Regardless, it’s unacceptable that as a new dog parent I was told my only option was to have my puppies eye removed when it was completely unnecessary. On top of that, he was sent home with a soft cone so he could just rub his hurt eye on it. Putting him in a hard cone so he can’t rub the eye would seem like common sense. Please revisit your vet training.
