Dr. Treat Reviews
The phone/customer service staff were so helpful and timely. My daughter's dog is staying with us out of state. We needed to board the dog due to a family funeral and the boarding company required vaccination records as well as proof of a negative fecal exam. Dr. Treat staff quickly provided the vaccination record. The fecal test took more investigation and the customer service staff diligently looked through records and found that such a test was done, but by a different organization. I was then transferred to SF AMC for the results. Without these records, boarding would have been denied. Such top notch service and a positive outcome for our grand dog.
Jun 11, 2025 · Ann BDr treat was great when it opened, but has slowly and surely been going downhill ever since. The doctors and staff are great - they’re competent and intelligent and clearly love and care about the pets. You used to be able to use the chat functionality to get in touch with someone from the clinic for quick responses to urgent questions. As the owner of a dog with chronic health problems, this was a lifesaver, and the main reason why we were excited to pay the membership fee and join Dr treat. At some point, that stopped being useful and you’d be stuck in a chatbot loop with the choice between scheduling an appointment or just reading articles, being increasingly difficult to get in touch with a human. At the same time, the practice seems to be getting increasingly disorganized. They don’t follow up or call back when they say they’re going to. The phone line listed on google doesn’t even reach the clinic anymore. You need to follow up multiple times to get anything done (namely getting prescriptions refilled soon enough to actually get the medicine before running out).I used to be thrilled to suggest Dr treat to my friends in the city with pets, but these days I’m much more hesitant. I definitely wouldn’t join Dr treat if you don’t live close enough to physically show up in the clinic and insist on being helped when you need it.
May 13, 2025 · Connor RoweWhat a difference a vet can make. Our lab was petrified of going to the vet until we started coming here. Dr. Alfaro is an amazing veterinarian with such a calm and caring demeanor. We love this place!
Jun 28, 2025 · Kari Erickson LevineDr. Alfaro is incredible! Today was my cat’s first visit to Dr. Treat and we had such a smooth experience. I was able to make a next-day appointment on a weekend and my cat received very thorough care and attention - something that I’ve never seen at a vet before. Dr. Alfaro was so gentle with my very scared and timid cat and I am very happy with the service we received today. The subscription/membership service is a good investment with them because it cuts out exam fees for a year and will pay for itself in two visits. Highly recommend this practice for any pet owner in SF!
Jun 02, 2025 · Haley McGlynnI'm so glad we have Dr. Treat in the neighborhood. Each of the staff members, regardless of their role (doctors, nurses, and front staff), has been so caring and helpful. If you are considering the membership, I would highly recommend it. I love that I can get an appointment when my pup needs care and that I can trust each of the people here to do what's best for her health. We recently had an urgent illness pop up, and they went above and beyond to fit us in and keep me in the loop as they completed the entire exam throughout the day.If your puppy is lucky enough to have Tia or Dr. Alfaro as their caregivers they will be in amazing and expert hands 💚
