So, why choose VCA Chicago North Animal Hospital? The facility offers a diverse range of services, aiming to be a comprehensive resource for pet owners in the Chicago area. The wide spectrum of care, from preventive health to specialized treatments like orthopedic surgery and stem cell therapy, is a notable advantage. The inclusion of pet boarding and grooming services further solidifies its position as a multi-purpose establishment for pet owners. However, it is important for potential clients to consider all aspects of the practice, including feedback from other community members. Some reviews from customers highlight potential challenges with the practice's policies and communication. One client noted a change in policy regarding sick visits, which may necessitate a trip to a separate emergency vet, something that could be a significant consideration for pet owners. Another client’s review raised concerns about the clarity of test results and the ability of staff to answer questions without constant consultation with the doctor. These points are worth keeping in mind when evaluating the best fit for your pet’s needs. Ultimately, the decision of where to take your pet for care is a personal one, and it is important to weigh the breadth of services offered against the experiences of other clients.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This vet practice recently changed their policies regarding sick visits. They used to hold several appointment slots a day for sick pets, but they no longer do. If you choose this practice for your pet, you will likely need to take your pet to an emergency vet at some point. In my opinion, this is clearly financially motivated, and I will be seeking out a different vet for my cat.
July 24 · Kendall KaminskyI HIGHLY recommend NOT bringing your pets here. Paid 400 for a visit that was not helpful. They called back and said her results were good. We had to bring her to an emergency veteran, they informed us our cat has kidney stones, it came up in their test. Also, when the nurse calls, any questions you ask, she doe not have answers to. All she says is "I don't know I have to ask the doctor and get back to you." I understand she's not the doctor, but she has absolutely no answers. The hospital we brought her to, the nurse had so many answers. So unless you want to be over charged and have no answers, I'd advice you GO SOME WHERE ELSE.
May 03 · tabatha lewandowskiI've been taking my 10 yrs old cat there since he was 11 weeks. The staff is wonderful and I love Dr. Hunt. She is really sweet and knows what shes doing. Always calming my cats and my own nerves. Clearly my cat hates going to the vet but she makes it a better experience for him.
August 16 · Ivette ChaconEven though this hospital is something of a hike for us, we keep coming back because everyone here is so caring with our pets, from Mimi and Rachel in the front to the doctors. It's a relief to bring our pups to a place they are eager to visit! And we appreciate the leash-reactive procedures that make it a stress-free experience for us. Highly recommend!
October 02 · Andrea FriedmannJust want to thank the whole crew at VCA for their compassion. I had to take Diva, my cat I've had for 21 years, for her last car ride last week. HEARTBREAKING! The card they sent me afterwards was beautiful. They all wrote something nice and brought more tears to my eyes reading it. 🐱😪
