★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Do not take your pet here. We took our cat for a checkup in April of 2024 and the vet said he was doing well. He was dead by July 2024. He had a massive tumor in his gut that the vet just missed. Cancer. Evidently, these vets have no idea what they are doing. As you'll see below, this place had the nerve to reply to me and imply they have no records of our cat, when we were just on the phone with them a little while ago trying to get a prescription transferred for the cat that luckily survived their sub-par car. We now take our surviving cat to a competent vet. They are shameless. What are they trying to imply? That I'm confused? No Olympic VCA. You missed a huge tumor. Look up the cat, Mao Poncet.
July 08 · Elizabeth BennettFront desk and reception are rude and unkind. I had a medical emergency and missed an appointment. Want to charge me upfront for future missed appointments due to policy. No kindness, empathy or understanding which is what you should expect from an animal hospital…just “it’s policy”. Been going there for five years with 5 dogs. They lost my business.
July 03 · Steve BorowskiDON’T GO HERE!!Front desk staff is so rude and terrible customer service. We’ve been taking our husky there for just over a year after moving here from Hawaii and in the beginning; all went well.However….on July 7th at 10:15am, whichever front desk assistant was working, needs customer service training right away!! We called because after our pups 3 year annual check up on April 30th m, we told the doctor that the Trio tablets he was taking was difficult for him and would always spit it out. This is the heart worm, flea and ticker pill. We asked to change to the NEX/Heartgard chewables because he liked those. No problem. They put in order for us to pick up at Costco after is May pill to start in June. This is where everything after went downhill. Called the VCA end of May for the order. Asked about Heartgard Plus and they said it wouldn’t be a problem and we’d pick it up from Costco. Went to Costco to pick up the medication and almost couldn’t get it because our pups name was spelled wrong. Then they had some other address on Silverdale Way (where we never lived before in our lives) but thankfully our phone number and my name was right. The order was just the NEXgard. Ok….. So I called the VCA and asked if we could still the place a prescription order for the Heartgard Plus or just the Heartgard because Costco only gave us the NEXgard. The lady states “we don’t carry Nexgard or Heartgard”. I said that I know and that’s why we had the prescription ordered to Costco. She then states “How about we start with your name” which I did state who I was in the beginning but…got it.Then she proceeds to tell me that our pup “would need to be tested for heart worms before on a medication otherwise he’d die”. That’s where I was turned off quickly. He JUST had his annual check up, why didn’t they do it then? I told her that I saw his screening need to be done in March and we were told that was part of it. Nope!Called the other VCA on Bucklin Hill and they asked the same questions I did. In short, we went to VCA for our pup at Bucklin Hill for an emergency and the staff was wonderful, unlike the one here on Bryon St. There’s literally no parking here. Office is small. Doctors are short with you as well to get you in and out. Definitely just business here and not community friendly.
June 07 · Anthony ClarkAlthough we have only been taking our pup here for 3 months, the quality of service we have received here is amazing to say the least. We have taken our mini dachshund here for all of his shots and check-ups, and just recently, we had a scare. I called every single emergency hospital in the area and none of them could take him. I called VCA as soon as they opened and even though they didn’t have any appointments available for over a week, they still took the time to call us back and have us drop our pup off to at least take a look when they got the chance. They were prompt with phone call updates, and made us feel like our boy was in the best care.Dr Dammeyer and Dr Ryan and their staff has all the love from us and Beans 🥰
August 10 · Lauren PateToday I took HiLo, dog, into VCA in Poulsbo for the pre neuter appointment. Horrible experience on 2 fronts.VCA showed no compassion or interest for the calm, patient dog who walked in without an appointment. The man says his dog is bleeding will VCA look at him? The man was told to go to an emergency vet clinic. VCA only saw scheduled appointments. VCA refused to even look at the dog or ask why it was bleeding. When I called and made the initial appointment, VCA assured me I could go into the exam room with my dogs and not wait out in the car or stay behind in the waiting room. This was the only reason I was switching vets. I wanted to be in the room during my dogs' exams to talk directly to the vet. VCA lied. Upon arrival I was allowed to go with my dog into the weighing room. But not allowed into the examination room. Bold face lying. VCA apparently expected to keep my deposit and charge an additional $750 once they tricked me to coming into their office. Wrong. Give me back my deposit, dust off my shoes when I walked out the door. This place is not to be trusted. They care about easy money not the welfare of hurt animals. Do not trust what they tell you over the phone.
