Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce
For many pet owners in Kirkland, Washington, and the surrounding King County area, the cost of veterinary care can be a significant concern, particularly when it comes to routine preventive measures. Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located inside Petco stores, provides a convenient and often more affordable alternative for essential pet healthcare services. Unlike a traditional, full-service animal hospital, Vetco focuses on a limited range of services, primarily vaccinations, parasite prevention, and microchipping. This specialized approach allows them to offer these services with no exam fees and at a lower cost, making it easier for pet parents to stay up-to-date on their animal's vital health needs. The clinic is designed to be a quick and efficient stop, which is perfect for routine needs when you don't require an extensive physical exam or have a sick pet. It's a pragmatic solution for proactive pet owners who want to ensure their dogs and cats are protected against common diseases and parasites.
Vetco Vaccination Clinic is situated at 10042 NE 137th St, Kirkland, WA 98034, inside a local Petco store. This location is easily accessible for residents of Kirkland, as well as nearby areas like Redmond, Woodinville, and Bellevue. As a facility inside a retail store, it offers the convenience of a familiar, public space. The clinic is committed to accessibility, providing a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom, ensuring all pet owners can comfortably visit. While they advertise both walk-ins and appointments, it's highly recommended to book an appointment to avoid long wait times. Some customers have noted that wait times can be significant, even with an appointment, so arriving early is a good practice. It's also important to be aware that the clinic is an open area within the store, which may not be ideal for pets with high anxiety or reactivity, a concern raised by some customers, especially those with anxious cats.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic specializes in a concise set of services aimed at providing preventative care in an accessible format. Their primary focus is on keeping pets healthy and safe from common threats.
Vaccinations: This is the core service offered. The clinic provides a variety of vaccinations for both dogs and cats, including rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and other key preventative shots. They often offer these in bundled packages for added value.
Pest & Parasite Prevention & Testing: The clinic offers diagnostic testing for common parasites, such as heartworm, and provides preventative medications for fleas, ticks, and other pests. This service is crucial for a pet's long-term health, especially in the Pacific Northwest region.
Microchipping: For pet safety, Vetco offers microchipping services. Microchips are a permanent form of identification that significantly increases the chances of a lost pet being reunited with its owner.
Petco Pharmacy Fulfilled by Vetsource: The clinic works with the Petco Pharmacy, fulfilled by Vetsource, to provide a convenient way for pet owners to get their prescription medications and products, like those for parasite prevention, often with transparent and competitive pricing.
---
Vetco Vaccination Clinic has several features that make it a distinct option for pet owners, but these are balanced by some common customer concerns.
No Exam Fees: A major highlight is that the clinic does not charge for an exam fee, which is a standard charge at most traditional veterinary hospitals. This transparent pricing model can lead to significant cost savings for pet owners who only need vaccinations or other quick, preventative services.
Affordable, A La Carte Services: The clinic's focus on essential preventive care allows them to offer services at a lower cost than a full-service vet. Pet owners can choose and pay for only the services they need, rather than a full comprehensive exam.
Convenient Location Inside Petco: Being located inside a Petco store adds a layer of convenience, allowing pet owners to get their pet's shots and pick up food, toys, or other supplies in one trip.
Appointment-Based and Walk-In Options: While appointments are recommended, the clinic's ability to take walk-ins offers a degree of flexibility that is highly valued, especially for pet owners with busy or unpredictable schedules.

For pet owners in the Washington region, Vetco Vaccination Clinic is a valuable option when it comes to specific, routine pet healthcare needs. It is an ideal choice for those looking for a budget-friendly solution for vaccinations, microchipping, and parasite prevention. The transparent, no-exam-fee pricing model can save pet owners a significant amount of money compared to a full-service veterinary clinic. The clinic's convenient location inside a Petco store and its willingness to accommodate both appointments and walk-ins add to its appeal. However, it is crucial for pet owners to understand the clinic's limitations. As a specialized clinic, it is not equipped to handle sick pets or emergencies, and some customer reviews indicate issues with wait times and staff professionalism, particularly in handling anxious animals. For a pet that is healthy and simply needs a quick shot, Vetco can be a great, cost-effective choice. For a pet with anxiety, a complex medical condition, or if you require an in-depth consultation and a detailed physical exam, a traditional, full-service veterinarian may be a better fit. Ultimately, Vetco serves a specific niche in the veterinary landscape, providing a no-frills, affordable option for essential, preventive care.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Be ready to waste your time here, due to understaffing or over booking (vets only have 5 minutes to administer a shot), as well as the vets possibly not wanting to handle a slightly anxious cat, we wasted 35 minutes waiting for an appointment we had at 1130am Saturday. By 12.05 the cat was beyond stressed given it's not an enclosed area. The cat simply moved a bit and the technician proceeds to say it's not going to work out and for us to "go to a real vet". The team seems to be well equipped handling dogs though, so I think it might be cat specific. Also they're understaffed. A few suggestions to others looking:- call ahead to check if the vaccine you want is in stock to avoid wasting time- try and book appointment but be ready to wait a long time.- accept that $50 for a shot could mean not getting one. If your vet has it for similar price you are better off doing it at the vet.How much is your time worth ?
July 27 · John LWe usually have a good experience here but today was not so great. Most of the workers are super nice but there was one employee named Julia who was so rude. We have been coming here for years and never worked with her before, so this was our first encounter. When asked if our dog was weighed yet, we said no, then she grabbed the scale and knocked a bunch of stuff down and started muttering under her breath, saying this is why you need to weigh beforehand (something along those lines) but like it was our fault? After my dogs shots, she asked when our dog had her cycle last, then proceeded to tell us about some infection and that our dog could die. We were confused thinking she was saying our dog has this infection (she doesn’t) so we started asking questions, then she told us “well your appointment time is over” and turned away.We came 15 minutes early. And if you are gonna throw in that our dog could DIE, of course we are going to get concerned and have questions. Most of the workers here are great and always are calm with the dogs, but Julia was incredibly rude.
June 21 · Lana SThe gentleman that checked us in was super friendly and knowledgeable, as always! My dogs were being reactive to a pair of huskies that came in. We were directed where to go to wait our turn while minimizing barking and reactivity. When it was our turn to check in, he came and greeted me and my dogs and made us all feel very comfortable.
April 08 · Sheena StumpThere was no place to stand. It was a big huge crowded mess! Every animal was stressed out. The people handing my pet were completely silent and didn't let me stand with my animal to help calm them down and they didn't say anything to her in a soothing voice while they're poking and prodding and injecting.. Very uncaring and robotic. They put the wrong weight on my summary. No my adult cat is not 5 pounds! Also the vet tech looked disgusted handling my cat and she looked at the other employee and said "yeah, I'm just not used to cats" that is quite obvious and how offensive to see her attitude in front of everyone. The animals and owners were all crammed in a doorway elbow to elbow and putting the animals at risk. I know it's cheap and quick but if you care about happy cats, this is not the place
May 06 · L MonWe usualy go to Redmond where the staff has always done a good job. We brought our dogs to kikrland due to scheduling. They wouldn't let us hold or be near our dogs. I assume a liability CYA. Then we heard our dog scream and cry. Then they told us they didn't even vaccinate him. Then why was he yelping. They didn't want to vaccinate him and then told us they won't do our other dog either because an assistant hear him growl.Wow...so much for pet care.
