Vetco Vaccination Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in the greater Renton, Washington area, finding affordable and accessible veterinary care is a priority. The Vetco Vaccination Clinic, located inside a local Petco store, provides a specific type of pet care focused on preventative services. This article is designed to give you a clear and factual overview of what you can expect from this clinic, from its location and services to its operational model. Unlike a traditional full-service animal hospital, Vetco's business model is centered on providing essential vaccinations and other basic preventative care. As a local service provider, it is a convenient option for residents, but understanding its scope of services and the nature of the clinic is crucial for making the best health decisions for your pet. We will cover the key aspects of the clinic to help you determine if it aligns with your pet's needs and your expectations.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic is situated at 4110 NE 4th St D #C, Renton, WA 98059, USA. Its location inside a Petco store makes it a convenient stop for pet owners who are already shopping for supplies. This setup is a key part of its accessibility, allowing for easy integration of pet health services into a regular routine. For residents of Renton and nearby communities, the clinic's location is easily reachable. However, it's important to note that the clinic operates on a specific, often limited, schedule and may not be a continuous, on-demand service like a full-time veterinary hospital. It is an express-style clinic, and its availability is a primary consideration for local users seeking its services.
Vetco Vaccination Clinics specialize in a focused range of preventative health services for dogs and cats. Their model is built around providing low-cost, essential care without a full-service veterinary hospital's overhead.
- Vaccinations: The primary service offered, including core vaccines like rabies and distemper, as well as non-core vaccines for diseases like kennel cough and leptospirosis. They aim to make it easy and affordable to keep your pet's vaccination schedule up to date.
- Microchipping: They offer microchipping services, which are vital for increasing the chances of reuniting with a lost pet.
- Deworming and Parasite Control: The clinic provides deworming treatments and various preventative solutions for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.
- Basic Health Exams: A licensed veterinarian is available to conduct basic health assessments and determine which preventative services your pet needs.
- Prescription Services: The clinic may prescribe medications, though based on public reviews, there have been instances where customers reported issues with receiving written prescriptions, with some being told prescriptions were only valid for Petco. This practice, if true, would be a point of concern as Washington state law (WAC 246-933-350) requires veterinarians to provide a written or electronic prescription to a pharmacy of the client's choosing upon request.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic model is notable for several features, though some have been a source of both positive and negative feedback from customers.
- Convenience and Affordability: The clinic's main draw is its low-cost model and its location within a pet supply store. This makes it a quick and affordable option for routine shots and preventative care, without the exam fee often associated with traditional vet visits.
- Express Service Model: Vetco operates on an express basis. Public reviews suggest that this can sometimes lead to rushed appointments, with some pet owners feeling that the time allocated is not sufficient for a thorough examination. This fast-paced environment can also be stressful for some pets.
- Staffing and Communication: While the clinics have licensed veterinarians, some customer feedback has pointed to inconsistencies in staff communication and pet handling. This can be a concern for owners of anxious or elderly pets, as a calm and gentle approach is crucial for a positive experience.
- Appointment System: The clinic uses an appointment-based system, which is intended to streamline the process. However, some reviews mention issues with scheduling, account management, and long wait times despite having an appointment.
- Documentation and Records: Some customers have reported difficulties with their pet's records being deleted or misplaced in the system, which can be a significant issue for long-term health management.
The Vetco Vaccination Clinic is located at 4110 NE 4th St D #C, Renton, WA 98059, USA. For all inquiries, you can contact them at their phone number, (425) 255-0083. For mobile phone users, the number is +1 425-255-0083. It is important to check their clinic schedule and book an appointment online or through the Petco app before visiting, as they do not operate during all Petco store hours.
For locals in Renton and the surrounding Washington area, the Vetco Vaccination Clinic offers a specific solution for pet care. It is most suitable for pet owners who are looking for a highly affordable and convenient way to get routine preventative services like vaccinations and microchipping. The clinic's express model can be a time-saver for those with a healthy, calm pet who needs a quick, scheduled service. However, for pet owners with anxious animals, or those seeking more comprehensive care, diagnostics, or a deep-seated relationship with a veterinarian, a traditional full-service veterinary hospital might be a better fit. Issues regarding prescription practices, customer service, and pet handling that have been mentioned in public reviews are important factors for potential clients to consider. Ultimately, the clinic's main value is in its focused, low-cost services, making it a viable option for a narrow range of pet health needs, but it may not be the ideal choice for every pet or owner.

Vetco Vaccination Clinic Reviews
Horrible. I asked for a written prescription before the service and they agreed. After I paid, they said they could only email it. The prescription is only valid for Petco. This is totally against Washington law.
Jul 20, 2025 · don buechnerI will preface this by saying I've been a loyal vetco customer since I got my dog in 2018. This location is new to me, as I recently moved here. When I was greeted I genuinely enjoyed my interaction with the first person, although it took 30 minutes. There's a common issue when I come in for vet services where I'm told I have two active accounts. They always tell me they'll take care of it, so I never called customer service about it. I found out I had THREE accounts today and they couldn't figure out which one was most recent. I come to find out that all of my previous vet documents through vetco were deleted somehow, and was told only I could do it by calling customer service. I have never talked to customer service before. I was told they marked which one was the right account, but when I got home to make another appointment I found that my profile I log into everyday now doesn't have any record of my animals. The worst part came when the vet tech manhandled my dog, who is 90 lb and has arthritis and all four limbs. I was hiding behind an aisle to give them space, as I was told I couldn't touch her once they had her in their care and thought being out of sight would help her feel calmer in their care. I heard struggling, and looked over to see that the vet tech was shoving my dog down and she was scrambling on the scale. I understand that a little physical action is needed to keep a dog on a scale, but he was leaning his entire body on her and yanking her around. The vet ended up telling the vet tech that he was being too physical, just as I yelled out that she had arthritis and all of her limbs. The vet tech responded with "oh" and let go of her. She was so terrified and now I feel so bad, especially because I warned them that they she is fearful of vets.I then was told that when I came in every year since having her, asking for updates on every single vaccine available (ESPECIALLY the one for drinking puddles, as it's her worst habit), and learned they haven't been giving her that specific vaccine for years. Drinking dirty water is my dog's number one problem, and I've told the vets this multiple times. I'm not sure why I suddenly wasn't given the vaccine anymore, but now I need to come in in 3 weeks for a booster, when they're booked out for 4 weeks because of the holidays. I'm terrified to take my dog here again, and I'm much more willing to go elsewhere because of such a price hike in the last year for services. When I first got my two dogs, I could walk out with full shots for both of them for under $300 and now it's over $500. Once I got home, my dog that was pushed around ran from me and has hidden from me for the rest of the evening. My heart is broken and I'm definitely calling customer service.
