Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of Ohio Reviews
100/10 stars. I am FOREVER grateful to these women. We traveled 2 hours from Cleveland for a flawless procedure at VD&OS. I struggle with severe, catastrophic anxiety related to my dogs and was extremely nervous about my 8 year old Newfypoo, Kiwi, needing to undergo anesthesia for a gingevectomy & teeth cleaning per recommendation by our primary vet. The months leading up to our appointment were a mental and emotional nightmare for me. He has had elevated SDMA levels which are now stabilized but I had never been so anxious about something in my life. He is my absolute everything. It is very difficult for me to let go of control and trust that everything will be okay - the team here gave me the belief & trust I have been missing. From the moment I made the appointment, everyone I spoke to went above and beyond to keep the situation light but professional (which was beyond effective at easing the stress and anxiety). No one made me feel silly for how I felt, instead, they were patient, compassionate, professional, and understanding. I seriously cannot recommend this team and Dr. Berning enough. Everyone I met explained every single part from start to finish seamlessly and articulately and I love that the staff is all women -they were just so naturally comforting, calm, and kind. My boy ended up needing 3 extractions in addition to his other procedures and I can already tell he feels so much better. The staff gave me several updates as I waited in their incredibly clean and spacious waiting rooms. It brings tears to my eyes recalling how special they treated him. The fact that I knew an actual team of remote anesthesiologists created Kiwi’s plan and were closely monitoring him as well as the in person staff made world of difference. It is our second day of recovery and he was eating that evening, drinking, peeing, and pooping the following morning. This establishment is truly a safe haven full of angels. I would pay absolutely anything for my boys and this team made me regain hope in others. I cannot thank you all enough. Dr. Berning, you are a saint. What you have created is so direly needed and appreciated. I cannot recommended them enough and will always always always come here for all teeth related needs. Kiwi’s teeth look MARVELOUS. We cannot thank you all enough !!!!!* we stayed overnight the day before at an air bnb we typically travel and had a beautiful night but the staff had plenty of recommendations for out of towners!
May 16, 2025 · Michelle MastrangeloMy cat had trauma to her mouth before we got her. We got her at 6 months so the trauma happened when she was young. Our regular vet had no idea what was wrong with her mouth and thought it was cancer at first and refer us to here. The surgery price was very pricey but sooo worth it! Been 6 months since her surgery and her mouth looks amazing! Can’t even tell anything happen to it. They were able to tell us it was most likely Trauma and did everything in one day for us since we lived 2 hours away. Everyone complements how great her mouth looks and I always tell them the vet dentist in columbus fixed my baby mouth and did an amazing job. She went to her check up appointment a few weeks ago for her shots and our regular vet looked at her mouth and say it still looks amazing. I 100% recommend going here if your fur baby having serious mouth issues! I posted before and after pictures and you can see how wonderful it looks!
Jan 14, 2025 · Kara GattaWe brought out kitty, Wilson here for tooth resorption, which we previously didn’t even know was a thing! We’re so glad we chose this practice! The pre-op care and consideration, the expertise during surgery, and the post-op follow-up and pain management were all outstanding. I was especially impressed with their organizational skills, knowledge, and compassion. The entire process - from the referral to his two-week check up was so organized, and they made it so easy for us. Wilson is grooming like he hasn’t in years. He plays more, and he’s more loving. This practice was the more expensive option, but my husband and I knew for sure that they were the way to go. And we were right! They took care of our diabetic senior boy and made him a happier, healthier little guy. ❤️ 100% recommend!!!
Jun 11, 2024 · MaryLynn McDermottMy 12 year old Shih Tzu had terrible breath and an abscess from periodontal disease. My local vet could have done the extractions, but upon further research, I really preferred to have a board certified vet who specializes in dentistry with state of the art imaging to work on my baby. They were upfront about cost and the work that needed to be done after consultation. I will say it is expensive, but paying for the experience and knowledge is worth it, in my opinion.Dr. Berning and her whole staff were so comforting, caring, understanding of my fears and concerns. Sarah and Sierra were extremely helpful on the phone from the first inquiry and kindly answered all my questions without being annoyed by my worries. My dog was calm walking in this morning, unlike when he’s walking into the normal vet and being anxious. It’s very tastefully decorated and calming. The facility is EXTREMELY clean.Lastly, They took exceptional care of him, and the thoroughness, efficiency, and comfort they provided me was also appreciated. I’m looking forward to him having a better quality of life for many more years without the bad breath and bad teeth.I would 1000% recommend Dr. Berning and her staff to any pet owner in need of dental procedure’s for their fur babies. I traveled several hours round trip to see them, and it was definitely worth it for him!Thank you for taking care of my furbaby!
Apr 16, 2025 · Brittany StefanMade an hour drive to bring my dog here for an abscessed tooth that needed extracted. My dog is a very nervous and sometimes reactive dog, but they were amazing with him. Everyone was so kind and did a great job at explaining everything and easing my mind about the procedure since he is 10 and had never been under anesthesia.
