Village Vet of Urbana is committed to providing a broad spectrum of veterinary services designed to support the health, happiness, and longevity of your beloved pets. While it's always best to contact the clinic directly for the most current and detailed list of services, a reputable veterinary practice like Village Vet of Urbana typically offers:
Preventative and Wellness Care: This foundational aspect of pet health includes routine physical examinations, tailored vaccination programs to protect against common diseases, and comprehensive parasite prevention and control measures (for fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal worms). Regular wellness visits are crucial for early detection of potential health issues before they escalate.
Advanced Diagnostic Services: To accurately identify and understand health concerns, the clinic likely utilizes various diagnostic tools. This often encompasses in-house laboratory capabilities for blood tests (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Additionally, they may offer digital radiography (X-rays) for detailed imaging of internal structures and potentially ultrasonography for further investigation.
Medical Treatment and Internal Medicine: For pets experiencing illness or injury, the clinic provides comprehensive medical treatments for a wide range of conditions, from acute infections and digestive problems to the management of more complex or chronic diseases. This involves precise medication prescription, fluid therapy, and the development of individualized treatment plans.
Soft Tissue Surgery: Many veterinary clinics perform both routine and more advanced surgical procedures. Common surgeries include spaying and neutering, tumor removals, and other soft tissue operations. All surgical procedures are typically conducted with strict attention to patient safety, including pre-surgical evaluations, anesthesia monitoring, and comprehensive post-operative care and pain management.
Dental Care: Oral health is intrinsically linked to overall pet health. Veterinary dental services commonly include professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing), tooth extractions when necessary, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene practices to prevent periodontal disease.
Emergency and Urgent Care: While not a 24-hour emergency hospital, a clinic like Village Vet of Urbana often accommodates urgent care needs during business hours, as evidenced by patient testimonials. This involves prompt assessment and treatment for acute illnesses or injuries.
Nutritional Counseling: Expert advice on appropriate dietary choices for various life stages, specific breed requirements, and managing medical conditions through specialized nutrition.
Puppy and Kitten Programs: Specialized care plans for young animals, focusing on initial vaccinations, deworming, early socialization, and essential guidance for new pet parents.
Senior Pet Care: Tailored health programs for older pets, emphasizing early detection of age-related diseases, pain management, and strategies to maintain their quality of life.

Village Vet of Urbana Reviews
From making the appointment same day to all the staff that were so kind and thoughtful- what a great Veterinarian office. Dr. Kerry Murphy was upfront and there first class office did all testing with results in less than 20 min. I would highly recommend taking your pet to the Village Vet of Urbana. Fairly priced as well. Thank you 🙏🏼
May 16, 2025 · David BoltenDr Kerry Murphy saved our dog Fergus. Fergus was lethargic and running a fever of 105.6. She treated him for what appears to be a tick borne illness that wiped out his immune system. Dr. Lucy Tidd saw him over the weekend and then Dr Murphy saw him again on Monday. Fergus is doing much better a couple of days later. Thanks to everybody at Village Vet for the quick thinking and right on it care.
Feb 25, 2025 · Leigh Z. CallanderWe've had wonderful experiences with them with our puppy so far!! Super patient and sweet and loving with our corgi. Quick to do anything they can to make life easier for us. Full of great information and they don't rush me out of appointments. They have been on time, every time, and they send me reminder texts when we need to come back for boosters. I can even text back to make the appointment, which is super convenient for when I'm working.I had a short list of recommended vets from my friends and I had an extremely difficult time even getting two other vets on the phone (and both couldn't see a new puppy for many weeks!) I then tried Village Vet. They answered my call, understood that the vaccines and roundworm meds were time sensitive for our new puppy, and got me in for an appointment right away. When I called later that night about his crying, they reassured me he probably felt bad after his vaccines and he'd be okay the next day. Sure enough, he woke up chipper and with the zoomies. I was so appreciative of their responsiveness to my call! They even doubled check with the vet, who called me back knowing it was our first dog, to let me know that Momo would be fine and vaccines can make them feel pretty rotten for a day.In November they sent a Black Friday email out that got me huge discounts on heart worm, flea and tick meds as well as his puppy food. Totally unexpected but very appreciated! Saved me almost $70 in one stop. This is our first dog and we have loved the care at Village Vet.
Dec 09, 2023 · Jessica NazarovaDr. Miller is absolutely wonderful! The techs are fantastic! My senior cat isn’t the happiest to be around when it’s time to get blood drawn and she lets them know how she feels about it but they are always pleasant and caring. Communication is great! Thanks Village Vet for taking such good care of Allie!
