UPDATE 6/28/25:Even more insulting was the follow up call we received from WPV. They said that their pricing is for the Charlotte market and that I'm not in the Charlotte market. Intesting in that I live 10 minutes from Charlotte. That must explain how the cost of prescriptions is 8 times more expensive in Charlotte than it is in east Lincoln County. I've been in business for 40+ years and understand that making a profit is essential to the viability of the entity, but when profits are egregious to the extent that someone can charge you 8 times what another vet does, that's nothing more than price gouging. Putting profits over pet care is shameful.DECEPTIVE PRACTICE. Let me explain. My dog has a UTI. We recently had her records transferred to Whole Pet Veterinary in Mt. Holly since our prior veterinary clinic had closed. They prescribed Clavamox drops with a dosage of 1.5 mls twice daily for 14 days (see picture). They wrote the prescription correctly and only gave me enough drops for 5 days. I paid $105 for a 14-day prescription. When I went back to let them know they didn’t give me enough for the 14 days they prescribed, they insisted I pay an ADDITIONAL $105. I’m not kidding! After more than enough back and forth with the front desk, they spoke to a manager, who told her they would be willing to take $25 off the $105. That translates to nearly $200 for a prescription I could have gotten from Chewy for $66 (2 bottles at $33 each). They essentially wanted me to pay for their prescription mistake.Needless to say, I am having our pet records transferred to a reputable vet. - Mark Konzen
