Will Rogers Animal Hospital Introduce
For pet owners living in Oologah and the surrounding communities of northeastern Oklahoma, Will Rogers Animal Hospital serves as a vital resource, providing essential and often life-saving Veterinary Care. As a dedicated Animal Hospital, the facility is equipped to handle a wide spectrum of needs, from routine wellness checks to critical emergency interventions. The hospital’s reputation is one of mixed experiences, but it notably shines during moments of extreme urgency and emotional difficulty, demonstrating a capacity for profound Compassion when clients need it most.
One powerful example of their dedication involves a frantic emergency situation where a severely injured cat was brought in. Despite the early hour, the staff acted swiftly. They immediately conducted necessary imaging (a service vital for trauma cases that many smaller vets lack), stabilized the hypothermic patient with heating pads, and within minutes of paperwork being completed, a full assessment was underway. The doctor on duty, recognizing the complexity, sought a second opinion from Dr. Wallis, illustrating a collaborative approach to medicine.
During this challenging time, the hospital excelled in providing clear, multi-option counseling for the pet owner. They offered and fully priced various treatment paths, including surgical intervention, continued hospitalization with medical management, or the heartbreaking decision of euthanasia. This transparency, especially concerning complex issues like potential loss of sensation or bowel and bladder control due to nerve damage, is crucial for allowing pet owners to make truly informed decisions for their companion's comfort. Notably, the hospital charged the price originally quoted, did not upcharge for the emergency visit, and the staff showed "unreal" compassion to the grieving family and children, even providing a thoughtful memorial bag and a follow-up card from Dr. Wallis and the team. This level of support during a chaotic emergency situation is highly valued by the Oklahoma community.
However, like many busy animal hospitals, communication around non-emergency costs can sometimes be a point of confusion for walk-in clients who are not prepared for extensive diagnostic or treatment recommendations. The hospital strives to provide full service, and while clients should always feel empowered to ask for a full cost breakdown for every item before proceeding, the staff's intention is to offer the most thorough care possible.
Will Rogers Animal Hospital remains a crucial anchor in the Oologah area, ensuring local pets have access to necessary diagnostics and immediate care when time is of the essence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- A few weeks ago, my cat was hit by a car. I frantically searched for the closest vet that had an xray machine as my nearest vet did not have any. I had a poor experience with this vet many years ago, but due to my own misunderstanding of vet med. I called regardless because they were the closest vet. Originally, I was told that the office did not take appts until 10, and it was 9:05. I asked for an emergency appt and was okay with being charged extra for such. When we walked in, they took my cat back to get imaging done and we were called back within 3 minutes of finishing the paperwork . They explained what was seen, and the doctor present, wanted Dr. Wallis to give a second opinion on what he seen in the imaging. My cat was in shock and hypothermic and they had immediately placed him on a heating pad after imaging. They instructed me to call back if I hadn’t heard anything by 3pm. I called on my way home at 1:30 and was informed he would need surgery to remove the fracture at the base of his tail (whole tail) and a screw placed in his hip to stabilize the hips. They informed me he had also lost sensation in his hind end. They gave multiple options from letting him stay in the hospital and wait for improvement, or bring him home with meds and wait for improvement, or the decision to euthanize. I did my research knowing that the base of the tail contains nerves that control bowel and bladder and surgery may damage his ability to release/hold bowels and bladder. While also losing stability due to no tail and loose hips. They gave me price scenarios on ALL options. I decided to euthanize for my sweet boys comfort and unsure of his recovery. The staff waited for me to get my kids there to say goodbye. The amount of compassion they gave to me and my kids was unreal. They sent us home with a beautiful bag for our boy to bury him in. The price was exactly what they said it would be and they did not upcharge for an emergency visit. I’m thankful for all the staff in a very hard emergent situation. Their care and compassion made our loss a little less chaotic. And thank you Dr. Wallis and staff for the card I received after losing my favorite boy. December 06 · Tayler Huerta
- After waiting over 2 hours (walk in so I understood that)I was only told a price for one thing. They did a bunch of stuff without telling me pricing and then had the nerve to tell me I should have asked. Then proceeded to try and make me feel bad for not taking everything they recommended and gave a dangerous medicine that is warned about not giving them!! They are extremely inflexible and act like you are the issue if you question anything. They were also extremely unclear on what my dog was being treated for. The vet said one thing, the tech said another. May 02 · S C

- I’ve been coming here for 15 years and every year this place gets worse and worse. Walk in’s on Saturday have turned into receptionist letting their friends cut everyone in line. Won’t be coming back… sorry Dr Wallace. August 02 · Jonathan Haley
