NJ Exotic Pets Reviews
My kids inherited a red eared slider named Mister Turtle, and I had absolutely no idea what to do with him. I did some research and found NJ Exotic pets, and they became a tremendous resource to help guide me as far as habitat and diet and other bits of turtle minutia that I was having trouble figuring out.Eventually, we graduated to getting a crested gecko named Lunar, and they were just as helpful with getting everything figured and sorted out.Sometimes my kids and I will just go to check out all of the other super cool animals that they have. Besides lizards and snakes, they also have bunnies and guinea pigs, sugar babies and gerbils, and a ton of other nifty things.I highly recommend a visit!
Jun 20, 2025 · natty bumpercarWe would highly recommend NJ Exotic Pets. This place is absolutely the best pet store we have ever been in. The staff was so helpful, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. They had such a great selection of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and aquatic life. We brought our 2 1/2 old chinchilla (which they recommended) and wanted her to have a playmate. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Mya. She took us to their chinchillas. After picking 2, she placed our chinchilla with the 2 of the chins we were interested in to see how they reacted with one another. Once we were sure they were all getting along, we said yes to getting both chinchillas. Megan and Mya(with help from Kevin) really took great care of use. Even with being super busy, they all were so helpful. We are so happy we took the trip to NJ Exotic Pets.
Jun 22, 2025 · Heidi Grimthis place is so cute outside and inside and had lots of pets! The variety is very nice, and definitely lives up to the word “exotic”! Also they were the only people who would cut my guineas nails. The guinea pig below is one I got from this pet store and he is so cute! However, the parking SUCKS and when I boarded my Guinea here they did not give me back any of the things I sent him with except for this strawberry carrier. I brought vitamin C, veggies, and a pellet bowl he eats pellets out of. I get the veggies, but seriously?? The vitamin C was full and NEW and I was only gone for 10 days. There is 30 per bag and you have to give your guinea ONE A DAY! makes no sense. Also when I got my guinea back his strawberry carrier was HORRIBLE! it had a bunch of poop from what looks like DAYS worth and a bunch of hay. I had to throw it out. But yes, I would recommend if you’re in north NJ and want to get a pet you usually do not find in a petsmart or something.

Feb 27, 2025 · rocco chiusanoI came to New Jersey Exotic pets today looking for a buddy for my ferret Bruno. Megan helped me out. She was very kind and knowledgeable.i appreciate that you were very patient with me and took the time with me helping me pick out a ferret out even though you were short staffed. She didn’t make the process rushed given the circumstances and I appreciate it. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get a ferret or any other animals they have here.
