For pet lovers across South Carolina, the choice of where to acquire a new animal companion or purchase pet supplies is a significant one. While many businesses strive to provide excellent care and quality products, it's crucial for local residents to be aware of the practices within all establishments to ensure ethical and humane treatment of animals. This article aims to provide an objective overview of **The Puppy Patch LLC** in Easley, SC, incorporating both positive and, more prominently, significant animal welfare concerns raised by customers, to help South Carolina residents make informed decisions.
It is important to approach any pet store with a critical eye, especially when considering purchasing live animals. The well-being of these creatures should always be the top priority. While one review speaks of a positive experience acquiring a Chihuahua, highlighting "amazing staff" and a "very very clean place" with "proof of all vet records," other, more detailed accounts raise serious questions regarding the care and conditions of certain animals within the facility.
These conflicting perspectives underscore the importance for South Carolina residents to conduct thorough due diligence before engaging with any pet store. Based on available public information, including customer reviews, The Puppy Patch LLC in Easley, SC, appears to offer the sale of various pets. While explicit service lists are not fully detailed, the provided customer feedback indicates the following:
Sale of Puppies: One customer mentions acquiring a Chihuahua, indicating that the store sells puppies. However, another review raises significant concerns about the health and appearance of puppies, stating they "look just as sick as the ones at the puppy place" and appear "scared sad looking."
Sale of Reptiles: A detailed negative review specifically highlights the sale of reptiles, including bearded dragons and leopard geckos. This review alleges severe issues with their housing and apparent health.
Sale of Small Mammals: The same negative review mentions the presence and alleged improper housing of guinea pigs.
Provision of Vet Records (Contested): One positive review mentions "proof of all vet records" being provided for a puppy. However, the severity of concerns in other reviews about animal health might suggest inconsistencies or insufficient veterinary oversight according to critics.
Cleanliness Claims (Contested): A positive review describes the place as "very very clean." This contrasts sharply with the conditions described in the negative review regarding animal enclosures and potentially unsanitary "reptile carpet."

The features and highlights of The Puppy Patch LLC, as depicted by customer reviews, present a mixed picture, with significant concerns regarding animal welfare being prominent.
Positive Customer Experience (Limited Scope): One customer shared a positive experience regarding the acquisition of a Chihuahua, praising "amazing staff," a "very very clean place," and the provision of "proof of all vet records." This suggests that some individuals may have a satisfactory experience, particularly when focusing on puppy sales.
Alleged Improper Reptile Care: A major highlight, albeit a negative one, is the detailed accusation of improper reptile care. The review specifies:
Overcrowding: "6-8 bearded dragons in 1 maybe 40 gallon tank," and "2 more fully grown bearded dragons in a 10 gallon tank." This is stated to be severely inadequate, as a single adult bearded dragon requires 80+ gallons.
Malnutrition/Dehydration Concerns: "The leopard geckos tails were almost deflated looking when they are supposed to look more full. They are probably all malnourished and dehydrated."
Insufficient Enclosure Furnishings: "The tanks had 1 hide per tank and one bowl of mealworms and no water."
Unsuitable Substrate: "They also contained reptile carpet which is bad because it creates and carries bacteria increasing the chances of making them sick."
Alleged Overcrowding for Small Mammals: The review also points out concerns for small mammals, noting "6 Guinea pigs in one container equivalent to the ones they use at tractor supply for chicks," indicating severe overcrowding.
Concerns about Puppy Health: The negative review suggests that "The puppies look just as sick as the ones at the puppy place," drawing a comparison to another criticized establishment. It raises flags about unethical breeding practices and potential health issues.
Perceived Profit Motive Over Animal Welfare: A strong criticism is the sentiment that "all the owners care about is the profit," leading to animals "in no way being cared for correctly." This implies a disregard for the animals' living conditions and health.
These contrasting accounts present a challenging picture for potential customers in South Carolina, highlighting the importance of personal investigation and adherence to ethical animal treatment standards.

For residents of Easley and the broader South Carolina region, choosing a pet store requires careful consideration, particularly when it involves the welfare of living beings. The provided information for The Puppy Patch LLC presents a complex picture, with one positive review balanced against significant and detailed concerns regarding animal care from another customer.
On one hand, a single positive review highlights a satisfactory experience for a puppy adoption, mentioning "amazing staff," a "very very clean place," and "proof of all vet records." This perspective suggests that some local individuals may find The Puppy Patch LLC suitable for their needs, particularly if their experience aligns with such positive aspects.
However, it is imperative for South Carolina locals to be aware of the serious allegations detailed in another customer review. These concerns include alleged severe overcrowding and neglect of reptiles and small mammals, inadequate enclosure setups, and potential malnourishment and dehydration. The reviewer explicitly states that "These animals are in no way being cared for correctly" and urges that "These people need to be shut down." Such claims raise profound ethical questions about animal welfare at the establishment.
Therefore, while The Puppy Patch LLC is physically accessible in Easley, South Carolina, and some may have positive individual experiences, the suitability of this place for locals is highly conditional. Prospective pet owners in South Carolina are strongly advised to visit the store in person, observe the conditions of all animals firsthand, and critically evaluate whether the animal care practices align with their personal ethical standards and expectations for humane treatment. It is crucial for local residents to advocate for animal well-being by supporting businesses that demonstrably prioritize the health and proper care of all their animals.

The Puppy Patch LLC Reviews
This place is an absolute joke. They are not much different from the puppy place also located in Anderson. My biggest concern is the reptiles. They should not be buying these animals with no proper knowledge about correct care for them and they definitely shouldn’t be selling them to more uneducated people. There were 6-8 bearded dragons in 1 maybe 40 gallon tank which is so messed up. A single bearded dragon needs 80 gallons or more and no these were no babies they were full grown. And there were 2 more fully grown bearded dragons in a 10 gallon tank. The leopard geckos tails were almost deflated looking when they are supposed to look more full. They are probably all malnourished and dehydrated. The tanks had 1 hide per tank and one bowl of mealworms and no water and I doubt they feed them greens like they’re supposed to. They also contained reptile carpet which is bad because it creates and carries bacteria increasing the chances of making them sick. There were 6 Guinea pigs in one container equivalent to the ones they use at tractor supply for chicks. The puppies look just as sick as the ones at the puppy place. These animals are in no way being cared for correctly and from what I’ve heard all the owners care about is the profit. I’ve attached photos as proof of these things. These people need to be shut down. THESE ARE LIVING BEINGS THEY DESERVE BETTER!!

Mar 28, 2025 · stephanie mcclureI bought my Cocker Spaniel Puppy from The Puppy Patch on 7/15/24. Customer Service was excellent. I've seen a lot of negative reviews and want to pass on my personal experience with this company. The first thing my daughter and I noticed when we came in was how clean it was. They had us step in a tray with disinfectants to sanitize the bottom of our shoes before walking through. This extra precaution impressed me.My experience with this company has been nothing but positive. The DNA test just came back from.my Vet today. I'm excited to report thst my Millie is 100% Cocker Spaniel with no genetic health conditions! This is extremely great news for me.Thank you Puppy Patch for my sweet, healthy, sweet dispositioned Cocker Spaniel. We love her dearly.
Aug 26, 2024 · Tara WatersAnother puppy mill place with terribly bred dogs. So sad for the pups and even worse for the folks who buy them thinking they are getting a gem. The exotics are also a joke. So very say for those pets- absolutely heartbreaking. Do your research folks and do better. Shame on this place.
