Ahimsa Rescue Foundation Spay/Neuter Clinic Introduce
For pet owners in the Muldrow area and across Eastern Oklahoma who prioritize compassionate care and community welfare, the Ahimsa Rescue Foundation Spay/Neuter Clinic is an absolutely invaluable resource. Operating as both a veterinarian clinic and a dedicated animal shelter, Ahimsa is a non-profit organization with a clear and powerful mission: to place needy animals in responsible homes, provide humane education, and, most importantly, promote and facilitate spaying and neutering to address pet overpopulation.
The term “Ahimsa” itself means non-violence or kindness to all life, a philosophy that deeply informs their operation. This organization works tirelessly—often relying on the compassion of generous volunteers—to rescue and rehome hundreds of unwanted companion animals every year. All pets that pass through their rescue and adoption programs receive necessary medical care, are temperament tested, and are spayed or neutered prior to placement, ensuring they are healthy and ready to join their new families. They are also committed to their adopted animals for life, insisting that any pet that cannot be kept must be returned to them for re-homing.
While the rescue and adoption efforts are highly commendable—with one client noting the organization's work to find a sweet girl a "Great home" after adoption—their main operational service to the public is the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic. This service is a foundational piece of their strategy to "STOP THE SUFFERING" associated with unwanted litters and the high costs of pet overpopulation, making essential surgery accessible to everyone. The clinic is highly praised for its efficiency, with a check-in and pick-up process described as "extremely efficient," and a staff that is "so kind and helpful."
The Ahimsa Rescue Foundation's commitment extends to offering more than just surgery; they provide general veterinary care, diagnostic testing, and vital pet ownership resources. They are recognized for sending clear and informative regular messages to clients, detailing instructions for care, which significantly eases the process for pet owners—a crucial sign of a professional and caring facility. This combination of affordability, operational efficiency, and genuine compassion makes the Ahimsa Rescue Foundation Spay/Neuter Clinic a pillar of animal welfare in the Muldrow community and beyond.

- This is an absolutely AMAZING organization. They spayed our puppy and did an awesome job. The check in and pick up process was extremely efficient and we were in and out. They sent regular messages to us that were clear and informative while detailing all of the instructions. I cant say enough great things about the staff. They were so kind and helpful throughout the process. This was a great experience for us and our sweet puppy. Thank you a million times and more for being such a great resource! - Cleanest spay incision I’ve ever seen. No leakage, no openings whatsoever, very very professionally done - it was honestly hard to find the incision at first as it blends into her fat rolls so well. Our girl was eating and acting her normal self hours after pickup. Price was fantastic, all workers were very efficient and courteous. I was in and out of the clinic in minutes for drop off. Can’t recommend enough. August 01 · Tyler Miller
- What a wonderful experience! We adopted two wonderful well cared for dogs, Mordecai and Dodger. They are excellent, well behaved and healthy boys. Thank you Teresa and your amazing staff. January 09 · Cynthia Haley-Seikel
- The staff was very polite and handled the animals with respect. Brought my dog in with a muzzle, picked her up without one. That's a good sign. Thank you for your service.. July 29 · Janine Bechtel- Gilley
