All Creatures Behavior Counseling Introduce
For pet owners in the Washington region, our pets are more than just animals; they are cherished members of the family. This is why when they exhibit concerning behaviors, it can be both confusing and distressing. While many pet owners turn to traditional trainers, sometimes the root cause of a behavior is medical or psychological, requiring the expertise of a professional veterinary behaviorist. This is where All Creatures Behavior Counseling in Kirkland, WA, steps in. This unique veterinary practice is not a traditional clinic for vaccinations or surgeries, but rather a specialized facility dedicated to the behavioral health of your companions.
Located in the heart of Kirkland, All Creatures Behavior Counseling offers a different kind of support for pet owners. They focus on understanding the underlying reasons for a pet's behavior, which can range from fear and anxiety to aggression and compulsive disorders. Unlike a general veterinarian who may only offer limited advice on behavior, a veterinary behaviorist has a deep understanding of both the medical and psychological aspects of animal behavior. They can prescribe medication when necessary, in addition to developing comprehensive training and modification plans. This holistic and medically informed approach is what sets them apart, providing a level of expertise that can be a true game-changer for pets and their families struggling with complex behavioral issues.
The practice's approach is highly personalized. They recognize that every animal is an individual with a unique history and set of circumstances. By conducting detailed evaluations, they are able to create a tailored strategy that addresses the specific needs of the pet and the goals of the owner. This is not about a one-size-fits-all solution, but a commitment to finding the most effective and humane way to help your pet live a happier, more integrated life within your home.

What is worth choosing All Creatures Behavior Counseling?
Choosing a veterinary behaviorist is a specialized decision, and for those in the Washington region, All Creatures Behavior Counseling presents a unique and valuable service. The primary reason to choose this practice is its specialization. Many pet owners spend countless hours and dollars on training methods that may not work because the underlying cause of the behavior is a medical or psychological condition. The expertise of Dr. Sung and her team, as highlighted in customer reviews, is their ability to accurately diagnose these issues. A dog that is "snapping fearfully" might not just need discipline; it might need help managing its anxiety. By identifying this distinction, they can provide a more effective, compassionate, and lasting solution.
The personal and attentive approach is another compelling reason to choose this practice. The reviews highlight a deep understanding of the individual animal, going beyond surface-level symptoms to address the root of the problem. This level of insight builds trust and provides reassurance to pet owners who may feel overwhelmed or hopeless about their pet's behavior. The inclusion of three months of follow-up support with the initial consultation is a significant value-add, demonstrating their commitment to long-term success. It means you’re not just getting a one-time plan; you’re getting a partner in your pet’s behavioral journey.
For pet owners in King County, especially those with rescue animals or pets with complex, deeply ingrained behavioral problems, All Creatures Behavior Counseling offers a path forward that traditional training or veterinary care may not. Their ability to turn a "frightened and snapping" dog into one that can be successfully rehomed speaks volumes about the impact of their work. They provide a service that not only improves the life of the pet but also brings peace of mind to the owner. This unique blend of medical authority and behavioral expertise makes them an invaluable resource for anyone struggling with their pet’s conduct.

All Creatures Behavior Counseling Reviews
Dr Sung has been an absolute godsend for my foster dog. He is a herding breed dog, who is highly intelligent, but also very high energy. He was sadly placed in the wrong home, and the adopter returned him a month later, frightened and snapping fearfully. The rescue needed an independent professional to evaluate him to decide if he could be rehabilitated and successfully rehomed.Dr. Sung and her team assessed the dog, and were able to explain that some of the dog's behaviors were fearful, while others were simply attention-seeking, such as barking and jumping. They provided a detailed report and training methods to use in working with the dog in my home, to help his behavior improve. Three months of follow-up support is provided with the cost of the evaluation appointment, so I was able ask questions during follow up calls and emails. At followup visits, Dr. Sung assessed his progress and I got a refresher class at each one. I felt she really understood the dog as well as I did after having him in my home. He made dramatic improvements in the time we worked together, and I'm grateful for her guidance and reassurance during the entire process. We are now able to begin looking for the dog's forever home, something that was not possible for him just six months ago.

March 19 · Jessica SternI was referred to ACBC by my regular vet. I have a 1.5 year old Rottweiler. He's my 4th rottie so I knew something was off pretty early on but I thought patience, socializing, and training would overcome. Instead it got worse, fast. Dr. Sung is uniquely qualified to help my anxious boy. In addition to a Behaviorist, she's also an actual Vet and to that end she can prescribe the drugs she would recommend and is deeply expert in her understanding of them. My primary care vet, whom I love, defers to Dr. Sung on any prescriptions that could interact with Fluffy's treatment, and Dr. Sung been great to work with in that respect as well -- dedicated and prompt. She's also the nicest, most unassuming human I have met in a very long time. The clinic is tucked away in an easily accessible area of Kirkland, and is clean, sensible and very comfortable. The customer care from the office staff is unsurpassed. Dr. Sung herself is incredible. The charges seemed expensive at first, but then, once I started to work through the exercises, go to the rechecks, and experience the level of support, it was unquestionably a great value. I can't begin to tell you how much of their time I've monopolized and they're always there for me, with a smile on their faces and compassion of the highest degree. If you need a Behaviorist, I highly recommend ACBC. They are the finest compliment I can imagine to the quality Vet care that I already have.

January 09 · Carrie McGinnisBEWARE. Relocating to Bay Area after 1st of the year. Had to reschedule appointment for 12/14 and told that she would only see a new patient until February, then any need for another visit would have to be done on the ONE DAY a month that she will be here until June. What if the problem isn't resolved by then? Maybe it will be, but if they had provided this information when I made the appointment and forked over a NON-REFUNDABLE $150 deposit, then I could've made a decision. I likely would not have been comfortable with beginning a relationship that would be so limited going forward. Very deceptive and unethical. They had they information and chose not to share it. Shameful.
