★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We are so thankful for this office. Everyone is great, but we've had more interactions with Dr. Sharpe, Donna and Sarah, the Practice Manager. I can't think of one time that we've needed something that they haven't gone out of their way to accommodate. We recently lost one of our babies and it was the most heart-wrenching thing I've ever went through. Dr. Sharpe was there that day, going through all the next steps, clearly, carefully and with so much compassion. You'd never know this is something they deal with on a daily basis. They made us feel like we were the only ones there. When we first brought Toot in, Donna in Reception saw she was struggling and got her into an oxygen tent immediately and that meant the difference in me getting to say goodbye or living the rest of my life with regrets because she hung on till I was able to get there. Dr. Sharpe was so tender and caring, you would have thought she was one of her own.In the coming days when I had questions, Sarah, the Practice Manager answered all my questions, even emailing me after hours. This type of going above and beyond... you just don't see alot of these days.We also received a beautiful condolence card from the practice signed by everyone along with ink prints they made of our angel's paw and muzzle. Words cannot express what that meant to us.We have five babies left and all of them are getting up in age and I can't truly express how thankful we are to know that the Animal Clinic of Athens will be by our side, no matter what comes.Tina Potts
July 28 · Tina PI had a pleasant experience. I had an appointment and didn’t have to wait long at all. Everyone behind the front desk was super friendly and so was the vet tech and the veterinarian. They explained everything well, as far as my dog condition, and she is on the road to feeling better.
August 08 · Shelly ThomasI have been bringing my cats to the Animal Clinic for veterinary care for the past 12 years, and throughout that time, the staff has provided exceptional care with compassion and expertise. They have diagnosed and treated multiple illnesses, including end-of-life heart failure care for one of my beloved cats and the ongoing (and sometimes complex) management of moderate asthma in my 12-year-old cat for the past six years.Every interaction I’ve had with the veterinary team has been met with kindness, empathy, and professionalism. I’ve shed more tears in their exam rooms than I can count, yet I have always felt supported and understood. While I am grateful for every veterinarian I have seen at the practice, I want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Stanfield for their exceptional care.Yes, there have been times when I was unable to be seen in an emergency or close to closing time. However, I understood that this was in the best interest of my pets, as this is a small practice with limited staffing. They are not a 24/7 emergency clinic, and like all of us, they have families to go home to. That does not mean they don’t care deeply about their patients—it simply means they have limitations, just like any other dedicated professionals.I truly appreciate the care and dedication this clinic has shown my pets over the years and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinary team.
March 17 · Reanna CousinoI'd give them Ten if I could. Both vets well all that we have been in contact with have been amazing. They care and are so kind. Dr. Dacus has been an absolute savior to me going through what we are with our baby. She was honest and kind. If you have a reason you don't go here I understand. However, if you want good care for your animal that isn't going to break your bank and be just as amazing this is your place. Love them!
May 28 · Ash McClendonI have been bringing my cats here for 2 years and expected better things for my cat that I brought to them for help with her constipation. They put us on the back burner from the moment that we arrived. Other people that got there after us were seen before we were. They made us wait until they closed to be seen by the doctor. I looked at the sign in list and the other people that arrived after us were walk-ins as well. That was the least of my worries. The doctor said that she needed more time to treat my cat for her constipation. She would need to be sedated and have an enema. I left my cat there to be treated the next day.I called the clinic at 11am and 4:30pm and the doctor had just started on her at 4:30. She called me a little before 5 to tell me that my cat was dead. She was 13 years old and had 3 legs, but it doesn't seem to me that she should have died at the time. The doctor insisted that she gave the correct amount of anesthesia and that she did everything to save her when she quit breathing and her heart stopped. She seemed genuinely sorry. When my cat had her leg amputated she had a blood panel done to make sure that she could withstand anesthesia and surgery. That was 3 years ago, so something may have changed. This doctor didn't offer that. She also had no answers as to why she passed away. Other vets have done autopsies to find out the cause of death. She didn't offer that either. I still don't know why my beloved and precious cat has died. The only thing that they did right was to give me my money back from the deposit that I put down. I will never go back there again. I am devastated by the loss of my cat and am left with no answers about it.
