When a pet faces a medical crisis, choosing the right emergency hospital is a decision that can save a life. The reviews for Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond, while mixed, offer critical insights into what makes this hospital a valuable resource, and where it may fall short. One review, from a client with a veterinary background, details a heartbreaking and frustrating experience, citing a lack of proper pain medication and a questionable care plan that ultimately led to a tragic outcome. This highlights the importance of asking detailed questions and, if possible, seeking a second opinion, even in a crisis. It underscores the reality that individual outcomes can vary and that not every medical decision will be perfect. However, another client's review tells a very different and positive story, praising the hospital for its quick service, transparent communication, and exceptional surgical care. This client, whose cat required overnight care and surgery for a blockage, had a "great experience." They specifically mentioned the friendliness of the staff, the clear explanations from the veterinarian, and the consistent updates they received about their pet's progress. This positive review showcases the hospital’s strengths: its ability to provide immediate and skilled surgical intervention and its commitment to keeping clients informed. The hospital's transparency about staffing issues and its policy of informing callers when it's at capacity is a significant highlight. In the high-stress environment of an emergency vet clinic, this honesty is a testament to their professionalism and a sign of their commitment to the entire veterinary community. They know their limits and are upfront about them, which is a responsible approach. The hospital's comprehensive services, from advanced diagnostics like Digital Radiographs to complex surgeries like a Perineal Urethrostomy (a procedure for cats with urethral obstructions), show they are equipped to handle a wide variety of serious conditions. Choosing this hospital means you have access to a facility with the medical capabilities to handle a true emergency, led by a team that is, for many clients, a source of comfort and expertise during a difficult time. The existence of both positive and negative experiences is a natural part of any emergency service, but the clear highlights of timely care, strong communication, and advanced surgical skills make Animal Emergency Hospital of Redmond a strong choice for urgent pet care in the Redmond area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Sent my small pomeranian, Remy, home with a broken jaw, unable to eat. Gave us liquid medication and food and we were on our own. We got him transferred to summit in the morning, turns out the "pain medication" we received was actually just cough suppressant, my poor boy was in excruciating pain all night. He really should've been fed with a tube instead of us feeding him with a syringe too, which ended up being done at summit. He ended up being put down because he didn't have a likely chance of survival after the whole affair. Even if a dog will end up being put down, they don't deserve to go in pain, you should've at least given him pain medication. Absolutely embarrassing. For reference, I have worked in a vet hospital for almost 3 years, and have my veterinary assistant certification. This hospital is incredibly unprofessional.
August 21 · Felicia SoerensenI had a great experience here! There was no wait compared to a 2-4 hour wait at another clinic in Bellevue. The vet tech, Maddie, was friendly and Dr. Flemming was great about explaining his thoughts about what he wanted to do and why. I ended up having to keep my kitty there overnight to do a series of X-rays and eventually surgery for a blockage in her stomach. They were great about communication. I got an estimate of my costs and an estimate of timing. They kept me updated on their findings and post surgery. They made sure to monitor her afterwards and sent me home with clear directions of after care. They also called me 3 days after the surgery to check up on her and answer any questions I had. They do seem to be having some staffing issues but they are upfront about it and know their limits. When they were at capacity their phone line informed the caller and let them know where to find information of other emergency clinics
April 19 · Angela YuThese people were very caring. Harry Dawg my 88 pound Golden Doddle lover boy was attacked by a not so friendly nor trained German Shepard. They allowed me to remain with my boy since he was more nervous about being separated from me than from the open wounds in his neck. The doctor and staff politely allowed me to provide reassuring comfort to my frightened dog in the examination room all the way up to and including the administration of the anesthesia staying with him as its effects took place. That was important to me and my buddy. They did a very nice job in surgery with stitches and drainage tubes explaining everything in a calming manner to my wife and myself. They were very helpful on a emotional level with me as well as with Harry's disposition. The pricing was VERY fair. Quite reasonable compared to other experiences in the past were I felt victimized being in a vulnerable moment. Even the post care with multiple return visits, removing drainage tubes and stitches, the staff and Doctor were friendly and without annoying additional charges. I wish my regular vets over the years were as kind. I don't often post reviews. But in an emergency, as you might read this when your pet is in trouble, it is good to know, from my perspective, that there is a safe and welcoming place to bring your beloved animal friend. Two thumbs up!
March 20 · Jeff WhittingtonI would give negative stars if I could. Please never go to this place if you really love and care for your furry baby. They are totally unprofessional, rude and do not care for your pet's life. They are just here for business. I had the worst experience here and were discriminatory. In 2024, I was accompanying my friend’s female dog because her stitches after her surgery were opened and she was actively bleeding. We reached the hospital and the person who I believe was Doctor's assistant asked us to sit for a few mins. There was no one else other than us. After a long wait, about 45 minutes, the doctor came out to the waiting area with another dog whom they were treating for upset stomach. She completely ignored us and went inside again for more than an hour. When she came out, we asked what's the issue and if there is no other patient inside then can the doctor see my dog. She just said " the machine is giving glitches". And thats it and went inside again for half hour more. Apparently, they were doing bloodwork for another dog for more than 90 minutes. But if thats the case then the Doctor could have still looked at my friends dog while she was bleeding actively. But no one cared to take our intake form or even ask us whats happening. Finally after waiting for more than 2 hours while the pup was bleeding, we asked if she can finally be seen by the doctor once. The doctor comes out and says that she wants to train her staff for admin work such as answering phone calls and accepting payments. We were now just waiting for almost over 2 hours with this lady just doing her administrative stuff such as talking on phone, taking the payments etc. but failed to answer my question what the doctor is not coming and taking the dog inside. Finally we lost our patience, requesting / saying that "please treat this as an emergency". And we came to this point after tolerating her negligence and rudeness for almost 3 hours for nothing. She yelled at us calling us rude for requesting her and said that she is not going to see my dog and left her bleeding. We left from there as this was completely rude, unprofessional and clearly discriminating. These doctors are not real doctors you can trust on. Doctors are supposed to quickly look at the patients first but we were being ignored for 3+ hours even if there was no other patient. We left from here and went to Bellevue Emergency and Specialty and got a very good treatment where they treated us as really an EMERGENCY.
April 18 · Miral ShahWe had a reasonably good experience here with an urgent (not emergent) medical condition. No wait, which was great, and they did their best to help my dog with his infected anal gland without sedation and discharged us with medical management which is what I requested as I am not comfortable with my dog being sedated outside of a true hospital setting as he is high risk for anesthesia. The 1 star off is because as I was finishing paperwork I was told they were going to examine my dog and then come talk to me before rendering any treatment, however I was waiting a long time and asked the front if they could check on him, and what actually happened is they had already been treating him in the back. I would have appreciated a quick chat about the diagnosis and what treatment they were planning before proceeding given that it wasn't immediately life-threatening, not for cost reasons, but just so I could make an informed decision. In the end I believe they did their best to help my dog and they did discuss with me before proceeding with anything invasive like sedation. Costs are reasonable given that it's an after hours clinic.
