When a pet emergency strikes, choosing the right place is about more than just medical expertise—it’s about trust, compassion, and financial practicality. Animal Urgent Care is worth choosing for several compelling reasons. Their 24/7 availability is a non-negotiable benefit for any pet owner. Knowing that a professional, caring team is ready to help at any time, day or night, provides immense peace of mind.
The clinic's commitment to affordability and empathetic care, as evidenced by a customer's story about their cat, Tofu, is another powerful reason. Even when an owner is unable to pursue a treatment plan due to financial constraints, the staff's kindness and support in the pet's final moments demonstrate a deep level of compassion that is rare and invaluable. The clinic’s willingness to provide humane euthanasia regardless of financial situation speaks to their ethical commitment to animal welfare.
Finally, the efficiency and expertise of the team, highlighted by the bee sting review, show that they are not just reactive but also proactive in their care. The staff's decision to wait and monitor the dog's response to medication, rather than giving an unnecessary steroid shot, demonstrates a thoughtful and professional approach. This combination of advanced medical diagnostics, round-the-clock availability, and a genuinely compassionate team makes Animal Urgent Care the go-to emergency vet for any pet owner in the Arvada and surrounding Colorado communities.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently came here because my cat Tofu was in critical condition. When I got to the urgent care the staff was very caring, informative, and empathetic. They gave me a lot of detail to allow me to understand her condition, treatment plans, and cost. Sadly because of her condition and the amount of funds I had, the treatment plan was not an option. She passed away peacefully yesterday morning in my dad’s lap. I want to thank you guys for caring and helping her in her last moment. You are all so awesome!
July 03 · Maya SP (Maya Papaya)On the Saturday after July 4th our Golden Retriever’s eye randomly swelled up. We panicked and brought her to a walk-in vet. They said because it was an issue of the eye she should go to an animal hospital. They gave us a list of animal hospitals and 24 hour emergency clinics. We went to three different animal hospitals that couldn’t see her before breaking down and coming here. Wish we just came here right away. Within 30 seconds of walking in the door they confirmed our suspicions of a bee sting and took her back to take care of her. Their prices were reasonable for after hours care, but more so I couldn’t believe how they helped ensure we didn’t spend more - or give our dog more than we needed to. Instead of just giving my dog benadryl and a steroid shot and letting us go on our way, they administered the Benadryl and waited with us for 20 minutes to see how she responded. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I won’t even hesitate on after hours care again knowing that I have this place in my back pocket. Thank you!!!
July 13 · Ashley AndrienMy kitty has had the bulk of his care at Animal Urgent Care and it has always been wonderful. My kitty boy just spent 3 days there after surgery and their kindness, professionalism and attentiveness towards my daughter and I was exceptional. I am out of town and my daughter was on pet duty and the vets kept us both in the loop on his care and treatment. I am very grateful for their excellent pet care because my boy is now home and doing well.
August 26 · K MalloryMy Roxy received loving care overnight to stabilize her with hemorrhagic gastro-enteritis. We came in very concerned at 2:30 a.m. The fees were lower than I expected; the wait in the room was quite long @ 3 hours. Urgent care is rarely fast; this was caring, effective and not overly pricey.
July 24 · Anna Smith (Anna)Frank is the 3rd pet that I have taken to AUC. He was making awful, guttural growling sounds while in the litter box, so I took to the internet to find out WTF and realised that his condition required immediate attention. When we arrived at AUC he was taken back immediately while I gave his recent history. After a brief examination it was determined that Frank had a urinary blockage. It was recommended that he stay for treatment. Throughout his 2 night stay I received phone calls from the 3, or 4 doctors that treated him. His condition and home care were carefully explained to us at check out and we intend to follow the recommendations to the letter. We were told that if this should happen again Frank may need to be treated surgically. When I asked what that would cost I was told what it would cost at AUC, AND told that there are low cost clinics that would perform the procedure for a fraction of the cost. When we came to pick Frank up we were told that our deposit exceeded the cost of treatments and we were refunded the difference. AUC doesn’t pad the bill by doing more than is required and that’s much appreciated in this day and age.Pet parents are so fortunate to have AUC in times of need.EDIT: My cat was NOT ready to be released at all. He was hospitalised a little over a week after he was discharged by AUC and it’s not a separate occurrence. It’s a continuation of the initial obstruction. He was brought to AUC at 4:45pm on a Thursday, diagnosed with a urethral obstruction, and admitted for treatment. Friday seemed relatively uneventful. Saturday morning at 4am and 5am the tube that went from his catheter to his urinary bag was kinked and Frank was not agreeable to having it unkinked. He is a timid cat that was in a foreign place surrounded by sights and smells that were unknown to him. He was frightened and based upon the fact that at 6am his catheter was removed due to his “demeanor” it seems that the staff at AUC was unable to care for an upset cat. The record literally states that the catheter was removed due to his demeanor. I have attached a picture of that record.AUC was not new to me as I have used it in the past because my pets love to fall ill after hours, or on holidays. Frank is the last of my pets that will be cared for by AUC.
