Not a chance I will ever use Banfield again, and I will certainly never recommend it to anyone else.I took my cat in on 4/18/25 for bladder issues. The clinic was very busy and it took them well over an hour to assess and diagnose her. When the doctor (Dr. Beckman) finally got back to me with results, I was relieved by his enthusiasm for how quickly my cat should be able to heal from her diagnosis of a bladder stone. He highly recommended that I schedule an appointment as soon as she finish her course of antibiotics, which is exactly what I did.I came in today (4/28/25) for our appointment and sat in the lobby. I noticed a person come out of an exam room with his kitten and immediately after was called into the same room- the room was not sanitized, nor was the blanket the kitten was on removed from the table, which was perplexing as I know it's protocol in other veterinary clinics to clean the room between each visit as to not spread any potential sickness/disease.The tech told me right off the bat that the doctor (Dr. Johnson-Wisdom) said it was "too soon" to have an appointment for my cat and I was asked if I wanted to keep my appointment for today or reschedule. I had already given my cat anxiety medication and made her endure a car ride- and the previous doctor had recommended this date- so I stuck with the appointment despite many alarm bells now ringing in my head.The tech took my cat into the back and she was gone for about 15 minutes. When she brought her back into the room I was sitting in, my cat was not in the carrier I had brought her in. The tech handed me her and I had to ask, "Where is her carrier?" She was giggling and said, "Oh, we couldn't get her back in," and proceeded to tell me that my cat has a wet tummy because of the isopropyl alcohol they had used for examination. My cat was DRENCHED in isopropyl alcohol and the smell coming off of her was absolutely pungent- this did NOT happen at her previous appointment when they had to do the same exact type of examination on her. The tech brought in my carrier, I easily put my cat back in it, and my sweater sleeve was damp because she was so soaked. I did not find it silly, quirky, or cute that she in such a state- I mean, wtf?Dr. Wisdom-Johnson then came into the room and told me that they couldn't extract a urine sample from my cat but I could purchase a urine kit for my home use (I had already bought a urine kit from a previous vet- the entire reason I'm bringing my cat into a clinic in the first place is because she would not go for non-absorbing litter despite my incredible efforts and I had to escalate it to the next step of a cystocentesis). She also said I could leave my highly anxious cat "for a few hours" so they could try again. I declined both because I found this entire ordeal to be incredibly off-putting, unprofessional, and stressful- I genuinely did not feel comfortable leaving my cat at this place.Dr. Wisdom-Johnson then asked who she could contact for previous vaccination records (shouldn't this have been asked the first time I came in?) and gave me a sheet about dental products that could help with gingivitis.The only positive thing I would say about my appointment today is that they didn't forget to clip my cat's claws like the last time I brought her in and requested it.The prices of this hospital might be alluring but I highly recommend going elsewhere. Such a waste of time, money, and effort.Edited to add: after my first appointment I had a question about my cat's medication that she needed to start that same night. When I called the clinic around 4:30PM, I received an automated message that the clinic was closed. I tried calling multiple times and kept receiving this same automated message- note that the clinic hours are listed as being open until 6PM.
Apr 28, 2025 · Emilywe took our deaf dog here to treat her itchy skin. we told every staff member we spoke w that she is 100% deaf and that she needs to stay in a cone bc she will itch herself to the point where she has no fur and is bleeding. we would’ve brought our own but they said they will provide one. however, as soon as we left the triage room, they took her off the leash. Not only was she not spayed at the time so like why would you do that on the first place but she’s DEAF. these people don’t know how to talk to her or get her attention. makes us wonder how long she was running around getting into god knows what before they were able to get her back on the leash.they also did NOT put a cone on her once they got her kenneled and she came back to us w her whole side completely RAW. and we had literally just gotten her to the point where she has fur again after the previous times. it seems to me like they did not take our requests seriously but those request are EXTREMELY important considering our dog is 100% deaf and will hurt herself.regardless i still got stuck w an almost 1,000 dollar bill and for what?? i will NEVER go back here nor recommend this place to anyone. go to Beavercreek Animal Hospital instead, where they give a shit!
May 23, 2025 · Cheyenne RussellBrought my dog in for her annual checkup. We had noticed something’s that we wanted the attending doctor to review during her exam. We dropped her off at 8AM with an estimated time of 4-6 hours. We checked in around 1PM and she had not been seen yet. We checked in at 3 and we were told she was next. Finally at 5 we hear from the doctor and she tells us our dog has delayed reflexes, and notes hair loss. She casually throws in possible diagnosis within conversation such as “disk disease”, “brain tumors” and “spinal issues”. When we get to the office we ask to speak with the doctor further and the receptionists seemed confused why we would want to chat further. Then the doctor meets us in the lobby alongside other patients and rattles off everything from she could be tired to cancer. She recommends following up with an xray or MRI but mentions it’s not urgent. She leaves us and we wait in the lobby for thirty more minutes because the receptionist decided to start mopping the floor and didn’t realize we were there to pick up our dog even though we spoke with them first. We followed up with another doctor and turns out none of these alleged diagnosis were the case, and without any expensive imaging we were able to find out what was wrong and am happy to say our dog is doing great. Banfield as an institution I wouldn’t recommend, this location in particular is a perfect example of the unprofessional care and lack of attention your pet will receive.

I brought her in so many times with concerns and she was just given vague or potential "diagnosis" besides the end stage of diabetes. So much could've been prevented but instead it got to the point of no return and she passed away yesterday morning. I will no longer bring any animal here
