Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews
I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Julie Dawson. She has cared for my miniature schnauzers, Tank and Mac, for many years, and more recently has taken care of our sweet beagle, Casey. Through every visit, Dr. Dawson has shown nothing but compassion, professionalism, and a genuine love for animals. She always took the time to address any concerns I had, no matter how big or small, and never made me feel rushed. Every question I asked was answered thoughtfully and thoroughly, and she made sure I always felt completely comfortable and informed about my pups’ care. It’s clear that she truly loves what she does, and it shows in the way she treats both her furry patients and their humans. I’m so grateful for the amazing care she’s given to all of my puppers over the years. We absolutely adore her and feel incredibly lucky to have her as our vet!
Apr 03, 2025 · Sheryll EvangelistaI’m so happy I found this location. I am more please with the front desk staff as well. They Just take care of you & your dog. I’m more pleased of Dr. Lowry she’s one of the best i’ve had experience with my dog Shadow! He’s Pomeranian and took very care of him in her care. She’s definitely well explained everything that I had concerns or she had concerns for him too. The wonderful lady Desire she’s the afternoon front desk when I come pick up my dog. Her attitude is so bright & positive and made me on keep on coming back. She answered all questions that I have concerned cause I have so many questions so she’s really very detail oriented very well. Thank you ladies for all what you do at Banfield Hospital. Everyone is so nice there as well. Thank you ☺️
Mar 14, 2025 · Erika CabreraWe took our sick pup here on a drop off appointment. All other Banfield locations were busy till the following week. He stayed there all morning and quickly got better after his visit. Great staff, professional service and very helpful. 🐶💚💯Update review 2021: We’ve been taking our pups here at this Banfield location for a while now. Initially it was very good (around a year and half a go) however the service has been downgrading. Just recently it took us 6+ consultations (driving back and forth) for the staff here to properly diagnose and treat our dog. We where driving 30+ minutes to go to this location because it USED to be good but will most likely be taking out business somewhere else. Staff is also very particular on appointment time, so DONT BE LATE or you will be rescheduled which leads me to my next point, this past year this location has been so backed up, making it hard to schedule any type of appointment.
Aug 21, 2021 · Short and SweetI’m a dog person to my core, but recently fell victim to the Cat Distribution System. Never having had a feline of my own I was able to easily set the kitten up with the Banfield care plan so Tofu (cat tax attached) could get his shots and receive regular care on schedule. I will be upgrading his plan to include dental (one cleaning per year) as to avoid future potential exponential costs with his teeth.
May 20, 2024 · Lisa ReichenbacherUpdate: I took my pet to a more qualified veterinary office outside of the Banfield network, and they were able to properly diagnose and treat my cat. It turned out to be GI inflammation caused by anesthesia—a common side effect—that was administered under Dr. Lowry’s care. The issue was resolved with just three prescriptions (oral Cerenia, appetite stimulant, and intestinal antibiotic) and SQ fluid. The new vet was surprised to hear the previous doctor didn’t consider this. Unfortunately, Dr. Lowry was unable to diagnose or address the issue and instead referred me to an emergency room.If you care about your pet, I strongly recommend avoiding Banfield altogether, and especially Dr. Lowry. My experience left me questioning how she is in this position.I truly regret trusting this office and Dr. Lowry with my pets.—Overall, my experience with this veterinary office has been positive. However, a recent incident has significantly impacted my perception. My cat underwent anesthesia for a dental cleaning and began experiencing post-anesthesia complications afterward. The attending vet, Dr. Lowry, provided one day of treatment (Cerenia injection and SQ fluids) before referring us to an emergency room. No prescriptions were sent home. Concerned, I consulted multiple other veterinarians, including some within the Banfield network, and contacted a few ER clinics to describe the situation. All agreed that supportive care and treatment could still be provided at the clinic level and that ER hospitalization was premature.I don’t understand Dr. Lowry’s decision to refer the case so quickly, especially since she had been involved from the start. This experience left me feeling that the common critiques of Banfield being more suited for routine well-being visits rather than handling complex or emergent cases are accurate. It seems the clinic may lack the resources or confidence to manage situations requiring diagnosis and more advanced treatment. While I appreciate the care my pets have received in the past, this incident has made me reconsider whether this clinic is equipped to handle anything beyond basic preventive care.
