Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across South Oklahoma City, finding a veterinary partner that offers both a comprehensive range of services and convenient access is a top priority. **Banfield Pet Hospital**, located right off I-240, operates as a high-volume **Animal Hospital** dedicated to the preventative and full-scope medical needs of dogs and cats. As part of a large national network, this location brings standardized, accessible care to the heart of the OKC metro area, making it simple to manage your pet’s health from puppyhood through their senior years.
The core of Banfield’s offering is its commitment to **preventive petcare**, primarily through its popular **Optimum Wellness Plans®**. These plans are designed to help Oklahoma pet owners budget for routine care, covering essential services like twice-yearly **Comprehensive Exams**, annual **Vaccinations**, and often including diagnostic tests. The aim is to catch health issues early, which is essential for a pet's long-term health and can reduce costly emergency treatments later on. For instance, the clinic successfully managed one cat’s **hyperthyroid** condition while providing compassionate **End of life care** for another cat who passed from cancer, demonstrating their involvement in both routine and serious medical cases.
However, users should be aware of the varied experiences reported by clients. While some appreciate the comprehensive coverage and convenience, others have expressed significant frustration, particularly regarding communication, plan costs, and the approach of specific personnel. One long-time client who had used Banfield for 20 years with multiple pets reported a highly negative experience with a particular veterinarian who was accused of looking for confrontation and chasing dollars rather than acting with compassion. Therefore, while the hospital provides a wide array of excellent clinical services and resources, prospective clients in Oklahoma City are encouraged to inquire specifically about the clinic's management, individual doctors, and the terms of the Wellness Plans to ensure a positive, trusting relationship.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- They have been great. We recently lost one of our kitties to cancer, and they were so good with him and his brother's hyperthyroid. They are taking care of all our cats. March 02 · Kelley Uselton Eckart
- Horrible! Dr. R. looks for confrontation. I watched it for myself. Highly upset because when I tried to escalate her practices, it was her who responded. Out in the open she made it look like she was working to correct the situation but behind the scenes she was agitated and full of rage having no intention of helping us. We had used Banfield for 20 years. 5 dogs and 3 cats. Not all at the same time. We take great care of our animals. She's never found a flea or any other kind parasite. Our fur babies are well fed. Exercised regularly and have documented receipts for their well being. So, in closing, we found another vet who actually cares about the animals. Banfield vets, at least Dr. R., chase the dollars with no compassion for the pets or their owners. August 13 · Terry Barnes
- They always take great care of my fur baby and I'm confident she gets the best medical prevention and treatment there. I also really like that they're honest about how she behaves when we drop her off for an exam (I know my dog can be a butt more often than not). They are helpful and make sure to explain everything. I'm definitely happy to continue my pup's ongoing care here. April 15 · Hayley Campbell
- We went in because our dog had a lump on her shoulder and was having trouble walking. They wanted $300 for an x-ray but also said cancer in the area of the lump isn't likely and she didn't think it was anything like that. False hope because I got a second opinion and an x-ray for$100 and found out before the x-ray that it wasn't going to be good news. She has cancer for sure and it'spressing on her lungs. I get that she couldn't say for sure without seeing it on an X-ray.. but telling us that it wasn't cancer seems so wrong to do. May 02 · Kendra Tooman
- Awful experience, would not take my dog back or any other pet for that manner. They were extremely rude, condescending, and just completely judgemental. July 03 · Kay
