Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center Introduce
For pet owners across the greater Kansas City area and in the community of Belton, Missouri, finding a veterinarian who can offer comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for all family members—furry, scaly, or feathered—is a significant priority. Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center is not just a standard veterinary hospital; it is a highly distinguished facility providing specialized and advanced services that few others in the state can match. With a long history in the community dating back to the late 1950s, the clinic has evolved into a modern, expanded facility that sets the benchmark for veterinary excellence.
The core philosophy of the clinic, currently owned by Dr. Teresa Bradley Bays, is to combine the highest standards of medical practice with genuine, compassionate care. This commitment is not just a claim—it is externally verified. The clinic holds the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accreditation, a distinction held by less than 17% of animal hospitals in the U.S., demonstrating an unwavering commitment to quality in all aspects of patient care, from facilities to procedures. Furthermore, they are certified as a Cat Friendly Practice by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), ensuring a calm, low-stress, and specifically tailored environment for their feline patients.
This commitment to excellence extends to every interaction. Clients consistently report that the entire staff, from the doctors like Dr. Taylor to the assistants in training, are wonderfully kind, caring, and professional. They practice Low-Stress Handling techniques to keep pets calm, even when they are sick or anxious, making a world of difference for both the animal and the pet parent. Whether dealing with routine preventative care or the emotional process of Hospice Care and Euthanasia, the team's thoughtful and gentle approach ensures pets and their families are treated with the utmost respect and empathy.

August 23 · Randee millerWe are very new to the area and had no idea of where to turn to when one of our cats was showing signs of a potential problem. Please note that our cats mean the world to us so they deserve the best possible care. I did my google searches and came across the Belton Clinic; I read up on each of the vets/employees and was happy with what was written. I easily made the appointment online on a Sunday & our sweet lil Jezzy was able to be seen right away on Monday! EVERYONE was wonderful! So kind, so caring. Dr. Taylor was wonderful in explaining everything in detail and treating Jezzy with nothing but calm, loving, kindness. Her assistant that is in training was awesome as well. Jezzy was very upset about what was happening to her, but he brought a sense of calmness to her. I know this is a long post, but for anyone who loves their pet(s) as much as I do; you can’t go wrong with bringing them to this Clinic.
August 12 · Steve SteckleinNice location, building is clean, the inside layout is very nice and the receiving rooms for the animals are small, but enough for what they are. Staff is very pleasant. My beloved dog was in the final days of his life and we did not know how sick he was. We were devastated - crying writing this...the staff was gracious and all of them wore shirts in support of our baby the following day when we had to bring back to be put down. It warmed my heart and they heaped love on him in his final moments. Good vet and there are only a few of them.
July 23 · Doug HendrixOur vet, Laura, and her assistant took excellent care of our bunny—we’re very happy with the service! Plus, Cheesecake, the resident cat, was such a sweetheart!
August 01 · Jesse GarciaI visited the Belton Exotic Care Center with my bunny, Trix for a wellness exam this week and was throughly impressed with the veterinarian Dr. Reilly. She is extremely knowledgeable about exotics and has a few of her own! This clinic also fit me into their schedule quickly and were fair in regards to pricing. The tech and front desk staff ensured my bunny and I were comfortable and well taken care of. All of the Belton Animal Clinic team members were kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this place for your animal’s veterinary care. Especially if you have an exotic! Feel free to tell them Kerri/Trix sent you! :)
