★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Thank you to Bowden Animal Hospital for the care of our precious fur Angels. Our precious Duke pass away 6/27/2025. Its was devastating to our family, including our fur Angels. Duke’s best friend and partner in crime, Cameron. Cameron is morning, he knows Duke is gone, because Cameron would nudge Duke to get up.I want to Thank, Dr Wylie for her heartfelt care, she makes you feel your pet is the only pet she care for. But in truth she is extremely busy. I can call BAH any time and Dr Wylie will talk to us. She is the best. We have been to all the vets in Carrollton Ga, and BAH is by far the best.Thank you, from our family, (Fur Angels Ruby Jean, Obama, Cameron, and our heavenly Angel Duke)Judy Young.
June 28 · Judy YoungThey were caring towards our little girl who had seizures. We knew we had found our new vet home. They won us again in a week with a return for vaccines. The competance perfectly balanced with compassion. Our tiny girl was so gently cared for. You can tell they really like animals!!!! They were rock stars in the handling of our injured pet! She was a mess and now she is on the mend! And they spayed our feral cat with no name, who is now Poppi! No better service around. Won us completely with your staff's friendly service and compassion!
June 20 · Trena GoodwinLovely staff and very helpful. The Dr was very understanding and nice to us and my dog,Lucky. The whole office is very clean and professional. Lots of space and no over crowding or long wait time. Would recommend.
April 09 · Audria SmithThis vet gets 5 gold stars for cleanliness and friendliness! I have been going to them with my golden retrievers for almost 6 years and have never had one issue! However, they get ZERO stars for their effort to educate their patients. While going through the puppy appointments with both dogs (5 years apart) they check your pup out, give vaccines and tell you to spay/neuter them when it’s time.. you leave with no “puppy pack” with helpful information related to your dogs breed.Took my first golden to get neutered and they asked if I wanted him microchipped.. no mention of gastropexy- a preventative measure to ensure your dog doesn’t bloat (the #2 killer in large breed dogs)Three appointments in a row I was told my golden could lose a couple of pounds- no mention of “make sure you don’t use a raised food bowl or feed him directly after playing- they are main contributors to bloat in large breed dogs”And then it happens- my dog experienced bloat. He acted like he had a bellyache, but didn’t seem like anything serious. I decide to take him to the emergency vet just to be safe and was told he had hours to live without emergency surgery intervention. 9 thousand dollars later- my boy is doing great and making a full recovery.I’m fully aware it’s not the vet’s fault that my dog bloated. The issue I have is with the effort, or lack thereof, to educate pet owners. When you have a baby, they warn you of SIDS over and over and warn to not bed share or let your baby sleep on their belly because it could contribute to the condition. At every single one of my appointments with my endocrinologist for my type 1 diabetes my doctor warns of neuropathy, kidney and vision issues even though I have no issues with either of the three.. why? Because they are directly linked to poor diabetes management.Considering bloat/GVD is one of the top killers in large breed dogs, you would think the vet would #1-mention it + make you aware of symptoms since they appear mild. #2- give tips on how to help prevent it. #3-offer the add on preventative surgery at their spay/neuter surgery.A simple pamphlet at a puppy appointment would have made me aware. I almost did not bring my dog in due to the mild symptoms and if he would have died, that guilt would have haunted me for life.In recap- great vet for basic needs. Highly recommend- just make sure you self educate because they sure as hell won’t put in any effort in that area.
August 15 · Carlie RobersonWe have used Bowdon Animal Hospital for years and just recently considered looking elsewhere for pet care due ONLY to the constantly rising prices. However, we returned to Bowdon Animal Hospital this week to have a beloved pet euthanized and the amount of compassion and support we received were immeasurable! Dr. McCord is such a personable and professional veterinarian! I can’t imagine trusting our furry friends in any other hands!!
