★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought my horse in for an appointment with Burleson Equine on 4/26/25 where Dr.Thompson attempted a fine needle aspiration, on a tumor to send off culture results to determine what type of cancer she has so we could decide what medication to treat with. After calling on 5/5/25 for my results I was told not enough fluid was drawn during the examination from the tumor sight and was left with inconclusive results on the testing, after spending $950. Where Burleson Equine proceeded to tell me I need to come in and pay for a second vet visit to do a biopsy. I then decided to followed up with my original vet to finish treatment, where I went in and he also recommended a fine needle aspiration where he drew the correct amount of fluid/ tissue and we were able to send it off to culture and got my results back enclosing the type of cancer she has. And after telling him exactly how Dr Thompson drew the fluid he then explained to me how incorrectly she preformed it to why no fluid was presented. She was free handedly inserting the needle trying to draw fluid. Where my original vet was using ultra sound equipment while inserting the needle so he could see exactly how far he needed to insert to reach fluid/ tissue. There for with this being explained to show Dr.Thompsons Negligence to perform the care that I requested and paid for i requested a partial refund for$510.44 for the culture results back that I never received, Which was denied.Which is for the Culture, Cytology & shipping. As well as after my poor care at Burleson Equine i requested them to send my inconclusive results to my current vet so he could review what could have potentially gone wrong. Which they also failed to do after knowing they rendered a bad service. In reality I shouldn’t be paying for any of it stating that she didn’t use the ultrasound machine to her ability to perform the service. And the teeth floating is another horrid scenario that she preformed very faul as well, as my horse is waking up from sedation she proceededs to float my horses teeth as she’s thrashing around and since she placed us in the outdoor stall that was very unsanitary and dirty for there to be an open wound after it was very obvious she was not contagious after examination. She also didn’t have the right equipment so she made her vet tech hold her head still over her shoulder, it’s a miracle she didn’t get her tech hurt or killed after multiple rounds of thrashing around in the stall. But I’m more concerned about the medical negligence that was preformed on the disease results. My whole experience with Burleson equine has been the most unprepossessing and horrific experience with a veterinary service in my whole life. And my experience with the staff at Burleson Equine over the phone once I called about my test results that were inconclusive had no remorse or respect and absolutely as rude as could be to a paying customer over a service they rendered incorrectly is unacceptable. Incidents with these circumstances are the exact reasons why people avoid the vet at all cost. Burleson equine has made a very poor impression on themselves from the way they treat customers to their negligence of medical care. I have high hopes that Burleson equine will revise this dilemma.
July 31 · sarah scottI've used Burleson Equine for a good while! I used them when Dr Put owned the practice. They have always come out when needed. And recently I had to haul one of mares for an emergency. A few weeks ago I was there for a well visit for a different mare. All through the years they have been fantastic! I've had them out for colic, and choke. And a eye issue. Is it expensive...well yes. These are horses!! But the care is always great! Thank you Dr Jordan and Jackson for taking care of my horses ♥️
February 01 · Stephanie JonesBurleson Equine has been taking care of our horses for years. We're always brought in to the exam room quickly and they do a great job diagnosing any problems and their rates are very reasonable. For my most recent visit we suspected cellulitis and I called late in the afternoon. I got in next day and left with everything we needed.
July 30 · Don MackenzieThey were kind and very professional. They did what they could for a sweet heart of a horse, yet God called her home. Ms. Daisy... RIP** Thank you so very much for all care & kindness all of you gave Daisy **(passed 7/28/21)
