Cherry Hill Dog & Cat Hospital, as its name suggests, focuses specifically on the care of canines and felines, which are the most common companion animals in Maryland households. While a comprehensive list of every specific service is best obtained by direct contact with the hospital, based on typical veterinary hospital offerings and customer feedback, you can anticipate a range of services designed to address the health needs of dogs and cats throughout their lives.
- General Wellness & Preventative Care: This forms the cornerstone of pet health. Services would include routine annual or semi-annual physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations (tailored to your pet's lifestyle and local risks in Maryland), and comprehensive parasite prevention and control programs for fleas, ticks, heartworm, and intestinal parasites.
- Senior Pet Care: Notably highlighted in a customer review, Dr. Foreman and his staff are "very attentive to not only my dog and cat but to me and my questions with two senior pets." This suggests a strong focus on the unique needs of older animals, including managing age-related conditions, pain management, and maintaining quality of life.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately assess and diagnose health issues, the hospital would likely offer in-house laboratory testing (such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams for rapid results) and potentially access to external specialized laboratories. Imaging services like X-rays are also standard for diagnosing internal conditions.
- Management of Illnesses and Injuries: Addressing common ailments, infections, skin conditions, and injuries that dogs and cats might encounter.
- Nutritional Counseling: Guidance on optimal diets, weight management, and therapeutic nutrition for specific health conditions.
- Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings and oral health assessments are crucial for preventing systemic health issues linked to dental disease in both dogs and cats.
- Basic Surgical Procedures: General veterinary hospitals typically perform common surgical procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as minor soft tissue surgeries.
While the reviews indicate a strong capability in long-term, attentive care, it is important for new clients, particularly those with emergent needs, to directly inquire about their current capacity and protocols for urgent or immediate appointments, as one review noted a significant wait time for an emergent need.
Cherry Hill Dog & Cat Hospital exhibits distinct features and highlights as revealed by customer feedback, showcasing both its long-standing strengths and potential areas of consideration for new clients in Maryland.
Positive Highlights from Customer Feedback:
- Decades of Trusted Service: A significant highlight is the hospital's long history within the community. One reviewer states, "We have been dealing with Cherry Hill Vet for decades," indicating a deep-rooted presence and consistent trust built over many years and with multiple pets. This longevity often signifies a stable, reliable practice.
- Exceptional Attentiveness to Pets and Owners: Dr. Foreman and his staff are highly praised for being "very attentive to not only my dog and cat but to me and my questions." This demonstrates a commitment to both animal well-being and clear, supportive communication with pet owners, which is crucial, especially for those with senior pets.
- Specialized Care for Senior Pets: The specific mention of "two senior pets" and the staff's attentiveness to their needs underscores a particular strength in geriatric veterinary care. Senior pets often require more specialized and compassionate handling, and this feedback suggests the hospital excels in this area.
- Strong Client Loyalty: The emphatic statement, "Will never go anywhere else!", speaks volumes about the high level of satisfaction and loyalty from long-term clients, indicating that for many, Cherry Hill Dog & Cat Hospital is their definitive choice for pet care in Maryland.
- Reputation as "The Best in the Area": For some long-term clients, the hospital holds the esteemed title of "the best in the area," reflecting a strong positive reputation among a segment of the local community.
Areas of Concern from Customer Feedback:
- Limitations with Emergency/Urgent Appointments: A key concern highlighted is the difficulty in securing prompt appointments for "emergent need." One reviewer, a long-standing client, was "told we had to wait 3 weeks to see Dr. Foreman for an emergent need," leading them to seek care elsewhere. This suggests that while excellent for routine and planned care, the hospital may have limited capacity for immediate, unplanned urgent cases.
- Potential Impact on Accessibility for Emergencies: The need to "call another office" and "go to Rising Sun to see someone within a week" for an emergent situation indicates that the hospital may not be a primary option for unexpected critical care needs for all clients.
These combined features illustrate a practice highly valued for its long-term, attentive care, particularly for senior pets, but with potential limitations regarding immediate emergency access.

May 21, 2025 · Donna M. MitchellWe have been dealing with Cherry Hill Vet for decades, and they are the best in the area. Dr Foreman and his staff are very attentive to not only my dog and cat but to me and my questions with two senior pets. Will never go anywhere else!
Oct 23, 2024 · stephen podolakSometimes zero stars should be an option. When I took in a stray cat, they did a thorough physical exam and told me it was a girl. For every exam we went to for two years, they treated it as a female.Imagine our surprise when the cat was cleaning itself one day, lifted a leg up, and male anatomy was right there front and center for all to see. Even without veterinary training I knew exactly what I was looking at - a boy cat. How on earth could they not correctly identify whether the cat was male or female? They had him on his back in the exam room checking for signs of spay or neutering. The vet told me that a line on HIS belly confirmed that it was a "spayed female". The vet mentioned that the line was facing the wrong direction so it looked like the incision was made the wrong way, but nonetheless it was confirmed as a spay scar.It was absolute incompetence. How could they be so wrong multiple times about the most basic part of anatomy? On top of that they were about to let us go after a clean bill of health, but realized that they needed to squeeze more money out of us. At a prior appointment the vet said my cat should lose a pound or two, so we did that. We show up for the next exam and the vet said the weight was good and healthy. As I was checking out, the vet brings out a container to collect a stool sample "to check for parasites because the cat lost weight" - weight that HE told us to lose! Not only did he give me the vial for a stool collection, but they rang it up as pre-paid without my consent and charged an extra $80 or so to me that day without even telling me. I didn't realize until days later that they had already charged for a stool sample I never collected or submitted. They told me the cat needed teeth pulled (which he does), but I refused to allow them to sedate my cat. They can't even be trusted for the most basic things. Then I heard about how they lost that poor family's dog that was unfortunately hit and killed by a car. All around incompetence and on top of that they aren't even friendly or kind. The office itself is basically someone's living room. Tiny, cramped, and unprofessional.Don't ever bring your pets here. Their facility should be shut down.
Oct 10, 2024 · Kelly UhlerNew to the area and took my cats for a physical exam. The Dr and entire staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Real small intimate practice. Def recommend
Oct 19, 2024 · Sarah SchultzI had to have my dog put down today. The staff was so kind in explaining everything to me. It was the worst experience of my life made better by how compassionate and kind everyone was. I hope you don't have to go through the same thing, but if you do, I recommend them and their techs to help you. It was peaceful and my baby didn't feel any pain. Thank you again to the doctor and the techs that made this experience bearable. My heart goes out to them and the hard jobs they do because they love animals.
