Animal Dermatology Clinic Introduce
Hello, Nevada pet owners! The joy of sharing our homes with our animal companions can sometimes be complicated by persistent health issues, particularly those related to the skin. Chronic itching, recurring ear infections, and skin irritations are not just minor annoyances; they can be signs of underlying conditions that require specialized attention. For those in the Las Vegas region, the Animal Dermatology Clinic provides a much-needed resource for these complex problems. This article will provide a detailed overview of what makes this clinic a top destination for locals seeking expert, strategic, and compassionate care for their pets' dermatological issues. They are a dedicated specialty clinic, which means their entire focus is on providing solutions for problems that may have gone unresolved elsewhere.
The Animal Dermatology Clinic is part of a larger, nationally recognized group of veterinary dermatology specialists, giving them access to a vast network of expertise and resources. Their mission is to provide the highest standard of care in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic skin conditions. The clinic’s approach is centered on truly understanding the problem before jumping to conclusions. As one satisfied client mentioned, they felt like the team was "really trying to figure out a strategy and solution" for their pup's issue, which is a powerful testament to their thoroughness. A board-certified veterinary dermatologist has undergone extensive training beyond veterinary school, including a rigorous residency program, to become an expert in this specific field. This level of specialization means they are uniquely qualified to handle complex cases that can often be difficult for a general practitioner to diagnose and treat. This commitment to deep knowledge and a problem-solving approach is a cornerstone of their practice and a primary reason for their success in helping pets and their families.
Accessibility is key for any medical facility, and the Animal Dermatology Clinic is conveniently located to serve the greater Las Vegas area. You can find them at 8405 S Eastern Ave #100, Las Vegas, NV 89123, USA. Their location is practical for residents throughout the city, making it less of a burden to travel for appointments. The clinic understands the urgency often associated with these conditions, and their staff is committed to getting pets seen in a timely manner. As one reviewer noted, they were "able to get my pup seen just a few days after I called," which is a huge relief for a pet owner dealing with a painful and frustrating issue. This focus on providing timely care, combined with their easily accessible location, makes them an invaluable resource for locals who want to get their pets on the path to healing as quickly as possible. Their professional and prompt service helps to alleviate some of the stress that comes with a pet's health problems.
The services offered at the Animal Dermatology Clinic are highly specialized and focused on diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions. They are equipped with advanced tools and a team of experts who have dedicated their careers to this specific field of veterinary medicine. Their diagnostic and treatment strategies are designed to get to the root of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. This is a crucial distinction for chronic conditions like allergies, which often require a detailed and long-term management plan. Their commitment to providing comprehensive solutions is what sets them apart and ensures that pets receive lasting relief and improved quality of life.
Allergy Testing: A cornerstone of their practice, the clinic offers various methods of allergy testing to identify the specific environmental allergens causing a pet's discomfort. This is a critical step in developing an effective, targeted treatment plan.
Skin Biopsies and Cytology: For more complex or unusual skin conditions, they can perform skin biopsies and cytology. These diagnostic procedures provide a detailed look at the cellular level, helping to accurately diagnose conditions like autoimmune diseases, skin cancers, and other abnormalities that are not visible to the naked eye.
Treatment for Chronic Skin and Ear Disease: The clinic specializes in managing chronic conditions such as atopic dermatitis and recurring ear infections. Their expertise allows them to create a long-term strategy that provides relief and maintains a high quality of life for the pet.
Video Otoscopy: This advanced diagnostic tool allows the vet to get a clear, magnified view of the ear canal and eardrum. It's a key procedure for pets with chronic ear infections, helping to identify the underlying cause and create a precise treatment plan.
Parasite Diagnosis: They are equipped to perform skin scrapes and other tests to identify and treat parasitic skin diseases like mange. This is often a critical first step in addressing a pet's itching and discomfort.
There are several key features and highlights that make the Animal Dermatology Clinic a highly suitable choice for Las Vegas residents. The clinic's specialized focus, combined with their empathetic and communicative approach, is consistently praised by clients. They provide a level of expertise that is difficult to find in a general practice, and their commitment to client education ensures that pet owners are fully informed and confident in their pet's treatment plan. These qualities are what build trust and lead to the best possible outcomes for pets with chronic conditions.
Specialized Expertise: The clinic's exclusive focus on dermatology means that your pet is being seen by professionals who are experts in their field. This depth of knowledge is a significant advantage when dealing with difficult-to-diagnose conditions.
Strategic and Problem-Solving Approach: Clients appreciate that the team is dedicated to finding a long-term solution rather than just providing a temporary fix. They take the time to explain their plan of action and provide multiple options for treatment, making pet owners feel empowered and informed.
Timely Service: The clinic's ability to get pets in for an appointment quickly is a major highlight, especially for those dealing with a painful or urgent dermatological issue. This promptness shows a commitment to patient well-being and helps to alleviate the stress of the pet owner.

Animal Dermatology Clinic Reviews
I got more direction here about an issue with my pup than I had at previous clinics. Made me feel like they were really trying to figure out a strategy and solution.
May 15, 2025 · Tony CressWas able to get my pup seen just a few days after I called. The vet spent about an hour with me explaining plan of action and options for further treatment. Glad I exhausted all options before getting surgery on my pup because it seems as though she didn't need it. Would recommend
Sep 23, 2022 · Hannah GillickWe saw Dr Keating today for my German shepherds skin issues. She was absolutely amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable. Never rushed us. Answered all questions and explained everything so I could understand. The front desk person and nurse were both so kind as well. Wonderful experience. Clean!
Aug 21, 2024 · Katy LockwoodDr. Keating and staff are absolutely wonderful. Always fast and friendly service! They vastly improved my dog's quality of life. His complicated case was no match for their expertise. Thank you so much!
Dec 28, 2024 · Miranda TracyI write this review with the heaviest heart after we lost our beautiful dog Mochi in the hands of this clinic. Mochi had a growth in the superficial part of one of her ears right before her ear canal. My husband and I noticed it and came here after being referred to see Dr. Craig Griffin after getting a couple second opinions regarding the matter because no vet was able to identify what it was.I called ahead and was informed by the front office staff that Dr. Griffin was the 'best in the business for all ear inquiries,' and when I let them know that I wanted to discuss this further with my husband before making a decision for an expensive $265 consult that would lead to a surgery same day, I was told by Alex that she advises we get it checked sooner than later. After she sold me on making the payment, she had Anna take payment and they wrongfully charged my card to another patient's account. Alex then took over to issue a refund for that initial payment processed since they charged it on my card for a different patient file entirely. I still let them process the payment again and proceeded to await the refund for their first mistake.I came in to the clinic this morning for our 8am appointment to have this 'expert' examine my beautiful baby. Craig Griffin, was clearly knowledgeable and enthused about his specialty, but his lack of 'bedside manner' for my anxiety on what the growth in my baby's ear was extremely distasteful. He proceeded to go on and on about his accolades in what he has accomplished to make him qualified to examine the growth and offered up three options on what I action I should take.Through that consult, he basically concluded he had no idea what it may be, but proceeded to say that the process costing over $2,000 was the safest for putting my baby through the process of removing the growth. I went ahead and listened to his advice aside his 'advice' to let him allergy test her as well since she was going to be sedated. It wasn't even an hour later that they texted me saying I needed to call them after I left that office. They never called me, they just texted for me to call. When I called back, they put me on hold to get the vet. Craig Griffin then proceeded to tell me that he has no idea what happened, but Mochi has died. My heart sank and I felt like I couldn't breathe. When I asked what happened, he said 'I really don't know, but I am so sorry.' Needless to say at that point, I was in hysterics and told that office I need to contact my husband and we stopped what we were doing and headed to that office to see our baby. The receptionist, Jamie, rushed us into a room because we were clearly not ok. She did not offer any words of sympathy or apology and said the doctor will be in shortly to talk to us. He claimed that he has no idea what happened as the procedure was not even taking place and they were getting her prepped for the procedure. He claimed that most vets don't use propofol for dogs preliminary to anesthesia, but he does in his clinic because it is safer than Alfaxalone. He claimed that she may not have reacted well to that and during the process after she didn't take to the sedatives well, he was trying to 'de-stress' her by giving her the propofol and midazolam prior to putting her on the anesthesia. He claimed that the doses she received were not enough to 'de-stress' her and he upped the doses, which then led to her heart not beating. He claimed that he tried to save her thereafter, when it was more than 2 minutes after they connected her to everything that they realized she wasn't breathing and they couldn't hear a heartbeat. The vet tech retrieved the doctor after that and they failed to save her.Had I never come here, Mochi would be here. She was fully healthy and when I asked if they checked everything before they took her to the procedure, they all claimed they did. There is less than a 1% chance of a healthy dog having these issues with anesthesia recorded. They killed her.The note they sent also is inaccurate as propofol and other details were omitted
