Cold Hollow Veterinary Services is conveniently located at 47 Archambault St, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450, USA. This location in the heart of Enosburg Falls makes it a central point of access for many communities across Franklin County and potentially extending into parts of Lamoille and Chittenden Counties, as their service area can be quite extensive for large animal calls. Archambault Street is typically a straightforward address to find within the town, facilitating easy navigation for clients bringing in smaller animals to the clinic. For their large animal services, the fact that they offer ambulatory (mobile) services means that their accessibility extends directly to farms and homes across a broad geographic range of Vermont, bringing veterinary care directly to the animals who may not be easily transported. This dual approach to accessibility – a fixed clinic for smaller animals and mobile services for larger ones – highlights their commitment to serving the diverse needs of Vermont’s animal population, ensuring that whether you have a beloved feline friend or a herd of cattle, expert veterinary care is within reach. While their primary base is in Enosburg Falls, their reach is significant for those in rural settings.
Cold Hollow Veterinary Services offers a comprehensive range of veterinary services, specializing in both large animal and small animal care. This dual capability makes them a versatile resource for the diverse animal population of Vermont.

Cold Hollow Veterinary Services is characterized by several key features and highlights that contribute to its standing as a valuable veterinary resource in Vermont.
- Dual Focus on Large and Small Animals: This is a significant highlight, as it allows them to serve a wide array of clients, from individual pet owners to larger farms. Their demonstrated expertise in both areas makes them a versatile and essential service in a state with a strong agricultural presence.
- Highly Informative and Efficient Veterinarians: Clients consistently praise veterinarians like Dr. Nathan for being "incredibly informative" and "efficient." This means pet owners receive clear explanations and prompt care, which is vital during stressful health situations, such as a horse experiencing colic.
- Compassionate Care: The staff, including doctors, are frequently lauded for their compassion and kindness. This empathy is crucial when dealing with distressed animals or when owners are facing difficult decisions, as demonstrated by the gratitude expressed for the care provided to a horse with colic.
- Dedication to Large Animal Emergencies: Customer testimonials highlight their rapid response and commitment to large animal emergencies, even in challenging conditions like "dark stormy night" or "middle of a snow storm," with vets spending "long hours late into the night" to ensure the best care. This level of dedication is exemplary for farm animals.
- Professional and Understanding Team: Reviews indicate that the team is professional, understanding, and patient. They aim to make clients feel supported during emotionally difficult times.
- Broad Service Area for Large Animals: While based in Enosburg Falls, their ambulatory services extend to various counties, demonstrating their commitment to reaching rural clients who require on-site care for their livestock or horses.
- Holistic Approach to Farm Animal Health: They are commended for helping farms transition and maintain herd health, providing ongoing support for cattle, pigs, and horses, signifying a long-term partnership with agricultural clients.
However, it is also important to address specific client experiences that highlight areas for improvement, particularly concerning communication and service expectations for small animal owners. One review points to potential challenges with scheduling and clarity regarding service areas for in-home euthanasia for small animals. This instance indicates a need for clearer upfront communication about limitations or distinctions between their large animal mobile services and small animal in-home options, especially when clients are referred from other vets. Transparency about their primary focus (large animals) and any associated logistical constraints for smaller pet services, along with consistent communication about delays and pricing, would greatly enhance the client experience, particularly during sensitive situations.

Cold Hollow Veterinary Services Reviews
I had my first experience with potential colic with my horse today. Dr. Nathan was incredibly informative, efficient, and compassionate. I am incredibly grateful for the care she received.
Apr 12, 2025 · Lacey AhrentI was referred to this veterinary service by Heart of Vermont Vet for in home euthanization of my small dog Freckles. When I called the office to set it up there was no problem. I was given an appointed time of 1:30. That time came and went. I checked in at 2 and received a call at 2:45 stating they were an hour out. That isn’t why I’m giving 2 stars though. The person asked why I didn’t use our local vet (doesn’t offer in home) and he said we were really out of their service area (website says Lamoille?) my husband called the office and was made to feel CH was doing us a favor as they are a large animal vet. How are we supposed to know that? We don’t have a farm. Way to make a terrible situation worse. I don’t want someone coming to my home who really doesn’t (seem) to care. We were hoping to have our 15 1/2 yr old taken care of at home, but now will go to our “small animal” veterinary to say goodbye as it’s too late to set anything else up and the little guy is in distress.
Feb 19, 2024 · Rhonda DesrochersCalled desperate for help with my dog. Didn’t know they didn’t serve house pets, but was cut off and hung up on while I was speaking (calmly, mind you) mid sentence just looking for help anywhere. Unbelievably unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude and dismissive service. I wouldn’t trust any animals life here if this is how they treat people.
Jan 15, 2025 · Julian CunninghamThe most important thing is my dog didn’t suffer. It was over in 15 minutes flat. They were so kind to explain that what we decided to do was right for our baby , because she was our first baby ever. She was always with us since the day we brought her home. She was 8 weeks old. All white with a few black spots and a heart as big as the ocean. Bringing Pinky there was 1 of the hardest things I’ve ever done & I can’t shake the loss of her and neither can my family. If it wasn’t for this place, she might have been miserable at her end. The vet was instrumental in helping us all ease through this process and we couldn’t have done it without her-thanks again for helping our first love and our best friend transition to the next adventure free from pain and suffering and more importantly she didn’t suffer at all. There’s no way to put a price on that. Being on a fixed income, thank God you can provide this service without making us have to eat dog food for the rest of the month.
May 04, 2024 · Stacey HoffmanWe have had experience with pretty much all the veterinary staff at Cold Hollow over the years. They are truly caring about the health and welfare of all our animals (horses and goats) . They are gentle and take their time to develop rapport with the animals and they also take the time to explain what they are doing and why as they go along. They readily work in tandem with our own recommendations, should we offer any. The animals trust them and submit to their care readily. We feel very fortunate to have found these wonderful, knowledgeable and caring professionals right in our own area. Many thanks to all the staff at Cold Hollow! May you always keep that true dedication and kindness in your hearts.
