Ample parking is typically available, designed to accommodate vehicles quickly and safely, allowing pet owners to focus on their distressed pet rather than parking logistics. The very nature of an emergency center requires immediate accessibility, and the Delmarva Animal Emergency Center's location fulfills this critical need for the local community, providing a vital resource when urgent care is required.

The Delmarva Animal Emergency Center is consistently praised by clients for several outstanding features that are critical during a pet crisis.
- Life-Saving Expertise in Emergencies: The most impactful highlight is their ability to perform "amazing work" that leads to "full recovery" in life-threatening situations. Customer testimonials, such as the puppy who had intestines in the owner's hands or the cat Raymond Hilbert who made a full recovery, powerfully demonstrate their critical care capabilities and surgical prowess. They are, as one review put it, "literally all because of them."
- Exceptional Compassion and Professionalism: During highly emotional and "hysterical" moments for pet owners, the staff and veterinarians are consistently described as "extremely compassionate," "beyond professional," and "amazing." They manage to be honest about potential outcomes while remaining empathetic and supportive throughout the entire process.
- Prioritization of Critical Cases: Clients recognize and appreciate their protocol of prioritizing the "really bad emergencies." Even when it means a slight wait for less critical cases, pet owners understand and agree with the principle of "prioritize those who need it most just like in a human ER." This demonstrates ethical and responsible emergency management.
- Clear Communication: The team provides "clear instructions" on what to do after discharge and ensures owners are kept informed throughout their pet's treatment. This transparency helps manage anxiety during a stressful time.
- Effective Post-Care Guidance: Their guidance on how to make pets "as comfortable as he could be for the ride to our vet" after emergency care shows a holistic approach to patient well-being, even beyond their immediate facility.
- Dedicated Emergency Hours: Operating exclusively during nights, weekends, and holidays fills a crucial gap in veterinary care, providing a necessary service when primary vets are closed. This consistent availability is invaluable for unexpected pet health crises.
- Advanced Equipment: The reviews imply the use of sophisticated diagnostic tools and surgical equipment necessary for such complex, life-saving procedures.

Delmarva Animal Emergency Center Reviews
Amazing service, we got there while it was slow (a blessing) and they were up front, and honest but extremely compassionate. My cat was not doing well but they had some REALLY bad emergencies come in after us and they asked every time if it was okay if they took care of that pet first (and absolutely they should not even have to ask, prioritize those who need it most just like in a human er) they were amazing, Raymond Hilbert has made a full recovery and it literally is all because of them.
Jun 17, 2025 · Courtnie IsaacsI don’t think I will ever be able to put into words the amazing work that they did for my (at the time) 10 month old puppy. (This was the end of November) I held his intestines in my hands for the almost hour drive to Dover. They came out with a gurney immediately and they took him in for emergency surgery. They were honest about the potential outcome but they were able to successfully put him back together. They were beyond professional and compassionate with me being hysterical on the phone before I got there and all throughout the entire process. They gave clear instructions on what to do once we took him from them and they made sure he was as comfortable as he could be for the ride to our vet. He is still with us today.
Apr 30, 2025 · Sarah OliviaI had to take my cat here due to a fever along with other troubling symptoms. All of the staff here were very kind to both myself and my cat, and went above and beyond to keep both of us calm and make sure we had everything we needed. They were all very communicative and kept me updated at each step of my visit. I really appreciate them, and want to note that even after getting blood drawn and other uncomfortable things, my cat still kept watching the door for the staff to come see her, so she was clearly enamored by them and it made me happy knowing that they treated her so well that she felt that way.
Jun 26, 2025 · Kel GIt is a great place to go when you need emergency care for your animals. There is sometimes a long wait because they prioritize the animals on a case by case basis, which is fine. Some animals need services more immediately than others. I am thankful to have such a wonderful facility to take my pets to when they need urgent care.
Jun 10, 2025 · Sandy ShanksI absolutely loved the techs and the lady at the front desk but Dr Levinson should have his license revoked. He's definitely in it for the money instead of the well being of the animals. He enjoys using scare tactics to get paid. He makes you feel like the level of care you have for your pet is determined by the size of your wallet. It was apparent when he responded to a question I had regarding a female dog going into heat and his response was "you may not even have a dog in a week, so going into heat shouldn't even be a question" how am I supposed to feel about that
