What truly makes Elder Pet Care a worthwhile choice for pet owners in Fort Collins is our unwavering commitment to affordability and genuine compassion. We understand that pet health is a critical part of family life, and it shouldn't be a source of financial stress. Our clinic has built a reputation for providing essential services at a fraction of the cost often quoted elsewhere. As one grateful client shared, "Dr. Thomas had the GUTS to do what no other vets will do, be reasonable on their prices." This sentiment is echoed by many who have found themselves facing a difficult choice between their pet's health and their budget. We believe you shouldn’t have to choose.
Another client’s experience further highlights our value, noting a dramatic difference in pricing for a crucial procedure: "One vet wanted to charge us $1000 for a procedure and she did it for $150 and went through the estimate explaining how they were trying to take advantage of us." We pride ourselves on this level of transparency and integrity. For dental work, another pet owner was quoted $2400 by a different clinic, while we would have performed the procedure for a mere $300. This is not about cutting corners on care; it is about our dedication to making pet wellness a reality for more people. Our approach is to focus on what is truly necessary and provide it with the utmost skill, rather than inflating costs for unnecessary procedures. We believe that high-quality care and reasonable pricing can and should coexist. When you choose Elder Pet Care, you are choosing a team that cares about the well-being of your animal as much as you do and is committed to being an honest, affordable partner in their health journey.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Thomas is a godsend! I am retired and have senior dogs who require frequent vet care. I am so grateful for Elder Pet Care making it possible to afford to take good care of my babies in their senior years.
March 28 · Sue PinkusI did read the public report against her, BUT I do know how well our pets were treated for 9 years. Dr Thomas had the GUTS to do what no other vets will do, be reasonable on their prices. So far we haven't found any other vet out there who don't want to rake you over the coal, they all care about money over animals(maybe one that's not to bad). Just because human health care sucks doesn't mean it has to for your pets. One vet wanted to charge us $1000 for a procedure and she did it for $150 and went through the estimate explaining how they were trying to take advantage of us. NOW we have a cat that needs dental work, Dr Thomas would of been $300 while we were quoted by someone else $2400! Who does this and can sleep at night!?!?!?
August 25 · Eric StowasserI had many bad experiences with Dr. Thomas. She was quite rude to me and other people too. Several times I witnessed her having temper tantrums and complaining about pet owners publically. Although the discount prices were very helpful, being treated poorly was not worth it. Also, the office generally did not smell clean. I think it's good she got shut down by the Veterinary Board.
August 11 · A in NoCoI’ve been going to this vet for many years. Tracy treated three generations of my dogs. She has always acted stand-offish but that didn’t matter as long as my girls were taken good care of. I went in today because my miniature snauser had tooth pain. I waited 2 1/2 hours in the parking lot and finally Tracy came out and said I had blamed them for my dog getting kennel cough. That had to be over a decade ago! I asked if they had had cases of kennel cough but I didn’t blame them. So after sitting in the sun for 2.5 hours she tells me I wasn’t nice and blamed her for the kennel cough. So my girl needs treatment and she refuses to help her. Sad but true.
March 27 · KathI am writing this review in light of hearing about Dr. Thomas. I will say, ever since 2010 (I think) Dr. Thomas has performed surgery on 2 dogs, extracted a couple of teeth of 1 cat, neutered 2 kittens, and sort of treated my dog with low blood platelets. Things started going REALLY BAD in 2019 when she saw my cat (MY BEST FURBABY) for constant vomiting. She immediately pick her up and rushed her to the back to start her on IV fluids. She told me she would be monitored overnight. The next morning I got a call saying, "When I came into the office, Hydie had passed away." I almost fell to the floor. WHAT?? HOW??? MY CAT WAS NOT MONITORED OVERNIGHT!!! She flipping died ALONE!!!!!!????!!!!! Thankfully, I had Guardian Pet Services pick her up to have her aquamated and I didnt leave it to the doctor to handle her remains. Then, in 2022, my dog with the low blood platelets started having seizures or was fainting. She would suddenly fall over and was unresponsive for a few seconds. I immediately drove her all the way from Greeley to her old office location with a sign that their office was closed. I was stunned. But after some googling...found she moved further North on College. Arrived to her office 55 minutes before closing. Called on the phone and was on hold for like 30 minutes. Finally someone answered. I told them why I was there and that my pup was a patient of Dr. Thomas's. I was on hold another 15 minutes and was told she wouldnt be seen because Dr. Thomas had somewhere to be. I begged them to please let her be seen...she was fainting and had her red spots again (from slow leaking from blood platelets). On hold another 10 or 15 minutes and she was denied being seen. Maybe this was a blessing in disguise because I found a vet that actually gives more of her heart to animals. She even, recently, waited an hour after closing so I could have my sons dog seen as an emergency. Dr. Thomas wouldnt even see my dog after waiting over an hour. This breaks my heart to learn that leaving pets unattended overnight is not allowed and my poor cat was. She died ALONE!!!!! Its been 6 years and I am still not over the loss of her and now I see these claims. I want justice for my cat!!
