When a pet is facing a serious health issue, choosing the right hospital is one of the most important decisions a pet parent can make. Evolution Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital is worth choosing for several compelling reasons. The most significant is their unique combination of emergency services and highly specialized care. For a pet with a sudden, severe illness, having a team that can not only provide immediate urgent care but also has specialists on staff to handle complex conditions is a game-changer. The story of a dog with a bleeding intestine from a medication, as shared by a customer, shows how the hospital’s integrated approach, from the front desk to the doctors, provided seamless and caring support.
Another major factor is the staff's dedication and empathy. As one client shared, Dr. Lake-Bakaar and Dr. O’Donnell were praised for their patient and kind care, with one patient making a full recovery from TPLO surgery. This level of personalized, expert attention builds immense trust, which is invaluable during a medical crisis. The hospital’s commitment to transparency and communication, as mentioned in the review about a pet owner's 100 questions being answered, is a rare and commendable quality that sets them apart from more impersonal, corporate-run hospitals. Ultimately, EVS is a place where professional medical expertise meets genuine compassion, providing the highest level of care when your pet needs it most.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Our sweet Rosie girl had to come here due to bleeding in her intestine from a medication. Everyone we encountered from the front desk to techs to doctors were all absolutely amazing. They truly cared about Rosie and her well being and wanted her to get better just as badly as we did.No matter how many times I called, everyone took time to talk to me about Rosie and how she was doing. They all answered my 100 questions I had every time. Every time I came to visit, they let us stay as long as possible.Hope I never have to recommend them to any of my friends and family but if I do, I would definitely recommend EVS and the staff.
July 03 · Bailey GaddWe’ve been here for both our cat and dog. From small accidents to planned heart echos & surgeries, the staff here has always been so patient and kind. Big thank you to Dr. Lake-Bakaar for always taking such great care of our pets as they both need regular echocardiograms. & to Dr. O’Donnell for performing a TPLO on our dog that our pup has fully recovered from and is back to hiking.
June 20 · Jess MAnimal lovers beware. I normally don’t write reviews, but after hearing what my family friend went through at Evolution Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital, I have to warn others.Their pet needed care, and instead of compassion or clear guidance, they were met with an outrageous bill and a disturbing lack of concern for the animal’s well-being. Dr. Fink, who was the vet on the case, has to be one of the least ethical professionals I’ve ever heard of. After the initial visit, my family friend kept asking the nurses repeatedly to have Dr. Fink call with updates. The nurses assured them she would—but when Dr. Fink finally did call, she coldly said that her involvement wasn’t even part of their “protocol” and that speaking directly with her would require an additional cost. Absolutely unbelievable. My family friend left this place feeling frustrated, misled, and completely unsupported at a time when they were already stressed and scared for their pet. Instead of receiving clear answers or compassion, they got vague responses, excuses, and endless bills. It was painfully obvious that this hospital cares more about money than about animals or their families.Bottom line: After hearing their experience, I would never trust this hospital with my own pet. If you love your animals, stay far away from this place!
August 22 · Jackson Sieber Jr.0 Stars – Horrible ExperienceI wouldn’t trust this place with a goldfish, let alone a beloved pet. A friend brought their dog here in a crisis, and instead of showing any compassion or humanity, the staff coldly told them it was “life or death” and demanded nearly $7,000 upfront with zero sympathy. They made it sound like there was no other choice if they wanted their dog to survive.Weeks went by, thousands more dollars were drained, and the vet remained dismissive and unhelpful. Eventually, after stringing them along and showing no real concern for the dog’s well-being, they lied and even told my friends they were no longer welcome at the clinic. Imagine being desperate to save your pet, running out of money and hope, only to be treated like that.Veterinary care is supposed to be about compassion and understanding the bond we have with our animals. This place is nothing but a money grab, preying on people in their most vulnerable moments. In my opinion, a practice that treats pets and their families this way does not deserve a license.Do not take your animal here. They’ll happily take your money, but they won’t care one bit about what you and your pet are going through. DO NOT SEE DR FINK
August 22 · bella shiraziWe took our 8 year old dog to this hospital on June 29th because he wasn’t eating, had elevated liver levels, and had developed jaundice. After an ultrasound, they couldn’t find a mass but said it was some kind of liver disease with a “50/50 survival rate.” Dr. Fink delivered this heartbreaking news completely emotionless, offered no real explanation, and within minutes sent in a nurse with an estimate of $5,400–$7,200 for a hospital stay. In that moment, with our dog’s life on the line, we felt pressured into agreeing thinking that was the only way to save his life. Little did we know we would never hear from Dr. Fink again after delivering that horrible news. Our dog stayed three days, totaling $6,500. We visited him every morning and night, asking repeatedly to speak with Dr. Fink for updates, but she was always “too busy” and never once spoke to us in person. When we took him home, we were told to return for weekly tests. Every week, we asked for Dr. Fink to explain his results and next steps. We were always told she would call us or email us with answers to our questions that they were not able to answer themselves but she never once did. Instead, we were emailed lab reports with no explanation, and instructions for new medications without context on how long or why. After spending nearly $8,000 here, our dog's condition worsened at one point because they took him off antibiotics too soon. His ALT levels skyrocketed, which proved an infection was still active. When we prepared questions and came in for answers, the nurses said again that Dr. Fink would call, but to no surprise she never did. Finally, when we called to complain about this treatment and lack there of followup, the management told us the only way to speak with the doctor was to pay another $100 appointment fee. After weeks of no communication and spending thousands of dollars, this was incredibly insulting. All we were asking for was a 15 minutes phone call with Dr. Fink to explain the lab results to us but that seemed to be too much to ask for from this place. When Dr. Fink finally got on the phone, instead of apologizing or showing any care, she dismissed our concerns and basically told us that she never intended to call us despite her own staff saying otherwise. The hospital manager tried to say this was common practice to not hear from the doctor unless you booked an appointment. If this was such common practice across dog hospitals why was all the staff telling us for weeks that we would get a call to explain the results?? She then canceled our next appointment and refused to prescribe needed medication for our dog claiming since our phone call with Dr. Fink "didn't go well" they don't think we should work together anymore. Absolutely absurd with not one ounce of accountability. This place has been nothing but money-driven, unprofessional, and dismissive. They left us in the dark while our dog’s health was hanging by a thread. The lack of compassion, transparency, and accountability is shocking. If you want proper communication, empathy, and true care for your pet, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!
