Healing Pups Charlotte specializes exclusively in veterinary rehabilitation and physical therapy, offering a range of advanced modalities and programs designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall quality of life for pets. Their services are highly individualized, based on a thorough assessment of each pet's unique needs and conditions.
- Initial Consultation and Evaluation: Every rehabilitation journey begins with a comprehensive assessment by a qualified veterinarian, like Dr. Keffer, to diagnose the underlying issues and develop a personalized treatment plan.
- Customized Physical Therapy Exercises: Tailored exercise routines designed to build strength, improve flexibility, enhance balance, and restore range of motion. These exercises are often demonstrated to owners for at-home practice.
- Underwater Treadmill Therapy: A cornerstone of many rehabilitation programs, the underwater treadmill allows pets to exercise in a low-impact environment, reducing stress on joints while building muscle mass and improving gait. It was a key part of Cooper's successful plan.
- Therapeutic Laser Therapy: Utilizing specific wavelengths of light to reduce pain, inflammation, and promote tissue healing at a cellular level. This was also a vital component of Cooper's treatment.
- Therapeutic Ultrasound: Used to stimulate healing at a deep tissue level, reduce pain, and improve circulation.
- Manual Therapy Techniques: Including massage, joint mobilization, and stretching to alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and reduce discomfort.
- Neurological Rehabilitation: Specialized exercises and techniques for pets recovering from neurological conditions such as spinal injuries or strokes.
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Structured programs to accelerate recovery and optimize outcomes following orthopedic or soft tissue surgeries.
- Geriatric Mobility Programs: Designed to help senior pets maintain muscle mass, improve balance, and manage age-related mobility issues, significantly enhancing their comfort and longevity, as demonstrated by Cooper's transformation at nearly 15 years old.
- Conditioning and Fitness Programs: For athletic dogs or those needing to improve their overall fitness and endurance.
- Weight Management Support: Incorporating exercise and physical activity to support healthy weight loss or maintenance.
Healing Pups Charlotte distinguishes itself through several exceptional features and highlights that make it a premier destination for pet rehabilitation in North Carolina:

They are praised for their knowledge, their ability to "create a plan," and for taking "great care" of pets. This combination of skill and genuine affection is crucial for successful rehabilitation.
- Individualized Treatment Plans: As seen with Cooper, the team doesn't offer a one-size-fits-all approach. - State-of-the-Art Equipment: The use of an underwater treadmill and laser therapy, both mentioned specifically, indicates their investment in advanced therapeutic tools that significantly aid in rehabilitation.
- Patient and Positive Environment: The fact that pets "enjoy their time" at the clinic, even during therapy sessions, speaks volumes about the positive atmosphere the staff creates. This reduces stress and encourages participation in the recovery process.

Healing Pups Charlotte Reviews
My dog Cooper has seen amazing results since he started going to Healing Pups. When we began my dog’s physical therapy journey almost two years ago he was about to turn 13. I noticed that his hind legs were losing muscle and one of his legs would give out during walks. Dr.Keffer and Heather created a plan that consisted of physical therapy exercises, laser therapy, and the underwater treadmill. At almost 15, Cooper’s mobility is great! He has energy, his hind legs have put on muscle, and he really enjoys his time with Heather every week. I HIGHLY recommend Healing Pups! Thank you for taking great care of my boy, Heather and Dr.Keffer!
