We’re satisfied with our pets care.We brought our cat in that I thought was a male (turned out to be a female.) and the spay went very well. I saw one review stating this isn’t low cost but every vet I called wanted $250-$350 for spay/neuters so $80-$90 is low cost.My oldest daughter wants to be a vet and they even sent her photographs and videos of her cat being spayed which really inspired my daughter she’s going to be a future vet and I loved how they supported her curiosity and interest. We bring our second cat for a spray in January.Update: Brought our second cat Mudd in for her Spay January 14th. Everything went just as well but I knocked off a star due to lying about our cat having fleas to charge us $15. We live in an apartment and our cats are indoor only. Our cats have NEVER had fleas and I’ve had Mudd for five months now. Only reason I said yes to the charge was I assume someone else there had a flea infested pet there and they were wanting to try and treat all the animals there. - Rhayanna Chandler

The Judy and Doug Lowrie Spay & Neuter Clinic specializes in providing high-quality, affordable spay and neuter surgeries, alongside select complementary services essential for surgical readiness and basic wellness. Their focused approach allows for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. While they are not a full-service veterinary hospital for comprehensive medical care, their core offerings are vital for pet health and population control:

  • Canine Spay: Surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus in female dogs, crucial for preventing unwanted pregnancies and reducing the risk of certain health issues like mammary tumors and uterine infections.
  • Canine Neuter: Surgical removal of the testicles in male dogs, which helps prevent unwanted pregnancies, reduces aggression, roaming, and the risk of prostate problems and testicular cancer.
  • Feline Spay: Surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus in female cats, essential for preventing unwanted litters and significantly reducing the risk of mammary cancer and pyometra.
  • Feline Neuter: Surgical removal of the testicles in male cats, which helps prevent unwanted pregnancies, reduces spraying, fighting, and roaming behaviors.
  • Pain Medication: Provision of post-operative pain medication to ensure the comfort and smooth recovery of pets after surgery. This is often included in the affordable package price or offered as a low-cost add-on.
  • Nail Trims: A common add-on service, often performed during the surgical visit for convenience and the pet's well-being.
  • E-collars (Elizabethan Collars): Available for purchase to prevent pets from licking their surgical incision sites, which is vital for proper healing. The clinic also allows owners to bring their own if preferred.
  • Pre-surgical Exams: A thorough examination by the vet before surgery to ensure the pet is healthy enough for the procedure.

It's important to note that as a specialized clinic, they generally do not offer services like extensive diagnostic testing (e.g., advanced imaging, comprehensive blood panels beyond what's needed for surgery), complex internal medicine, emergency care for severe injuries or illnesses, or extensive long-term hospitalization.

The Judy and Doug Lowrie Spay & Neuter Clinic truly distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights, as consistently praised by its grateful clientele:

  • Unmatched Affordability: This is by far the most significant highlight. Customers explicitly state that the cost of spay/neuter procedures is "incredibly affordable" and "low cost" compared to other vets, often being "less than a fourth of what my regular vet quoted me." This commitment to accessibility makes responsible pet ownership achievable for more families.
  • Exceptional Compassionate Care: Despite the focus on affordability and efficiency, the staff are consistently described as "friendly and gentle with the pups." This ensures pets have a positive and comfortable experience, which is particularly important for a surgical visit.
  • Support for Budding Veterinarians: A heartwarming highlight is the clinic's support for a young aspiring vet. Sending photographs and videos of a cat's spay procedure to inspire a daughter who wants to be a vet demonstrates a unique dedication to fostering community interest in animal welfare and education. This goes above and beyond standard service.
  • Efficient and Smooth Process: Customers appreciate the "super smooth" process, indicating a well-organized and streamlined approach to handling appointments and procedures. This efficiency, even when busy, contributes to a less stressful experience for pet owners.
  • Effective Communication: While a specific instance of "lying about fleas" was noted in an update to one review, the overall sentiment points to generally good communication, allowing pet owners to understand procedures and costs. The clinic's flexibility regarding bringing an Amazon-purchased e-collar also shows a willingness to communicate and accommodate client preferences.
  • High Quality of Surgical Outcomes: Reviews confirm that spay and neuter procedures "went very well," and pets are "healing well." This attests to the skill and professionalism of the veterinary team performing the surgeries.
  • Focus on Core Mission: The clinic's specialization in spay/neuter allows them to excel in this specific area, offering a highly valuable service to the community that might otherwise be cost-prohibitive for many.
