Robinson Animal Hospital Reviews
4 paws up!!! We recieved a voucher from ECCAS to get our kitties' surgeries performed here after adoption (so sweet!!!) .The process was so amazingly simple!! I was able to book online (a MAJOR selling point for me since I'm on the phone at work all day and can't really make other calls). I received a text detailing date and time, as well as pre- surgery steps (take up food & water). They called to let me know when the surgery was done, all went well, and that the little guy was waking up. They offered a pain med treatment for a small additional cost (like $30ish), which prevented us from having to deliver it to him over like 3 days. Great experience.!! (Well, at least for me. I'm sure the kitty would agree the people were great but i don't know that he would recommend the surgery 🤣🤣). But he was running around like himself later the same day. (The girls have theirs in 2 weeks).
Jun 28, 2025 · Kristy M (Basketballmom78)I decided to take some time to process my experience and gather my thoughts so I could give some constructive feedback.I have 8 dogs of which 6 are fosters so financially I must justify visits and not be neurotic of anything which may or may not need to be seen by a veterinarian.I have been to RAH on Watauga twice.1st visit was a general wellness exam in which the veterinarian on duty LISTENED to my "wants".2nd visit: This time I was seen by a younger veterinarian. My visit was based on a senior spayed dog which even with food restrictions had been gaining weight since last visit with another vet in town. This senior also had symptoms which aligned with estrogen deficiency. Estrogen deficiency can many times be overlooked and be "confused" by Hyperthyroidism. During last visit with my other vet my foster was tested "in-house" for Hyperthyroidism which showed negative so my suspicion was now Estrogen deficiency. This younger vet which I now consulted with was ADAMANT I needed to test for Hyperthyroidism by having it sent out for a "more accurate" diagnosis. She then went on about her own dog and all the tests she had to do. I was NOT COMFORTABLE with the overzealous push when I made it clear I'd rather try estrogen as the main cause before the HUGE EXPENSE of $350 blood test for Hyperthyroidism. She continued to push and as a joke I mentioned "If the test comes back negative then you owe me $350 since I'm pretty sure you are wrong". She avoided my comment. I agreed to her suggestion and did the test BECAUSE they KNOW BEST, don't they? The following week the result came back and after a few phone tagging I requested the result by email.I REALLY want to have FAITH in veterinarians but this completely nailed the coffin shut. The test for Hyperthyroidism came back NEGATIVE!!! This is what I HATE of veterinarians when they do not go the simple route 1st before throwing expensive test at you to pay. This is a jab at me as a client WHO KNOWS the dog BEST. So why did she do this? I honestly think she was trying to prove a point that she as a veterinarian with years of education knows more than me.After all of this she STILL prescribed Estrogen for the dog which was $30 for 14 days. Now I made it clear I wanted the prescription through Chewy going forward as it is a fraction of the cost in generic formula. Once I placed the order through Chewy I ended up being declined BECAUSE it was NOT the brand name. All in all this was a POOR EXPERIENCE and I would NOT recommend them if you have years of experience with dogs. This was an expense which will drag on me financially. Complete disappointment. The only reason I am giving a two star is because of 1st visit.Get Outlook for Android

Jan 15, 2025 · Michael CAbsolutely the best vet office in the area! I can't say good enough things about this place. Very friendly staff, they treat you like you're family. They care for your pets as if they're their own. The prices are the best I've found in the area. Very clean environment! Would recommend to anyone looking for a veterinarian or a different one.
Feb 01, 2025 · Lainey ClarkI recently had a dog with an eye that had been bitten out by her littermate. It had sat out of her head for 2 days because emergency vets around here wanted $1150 to see her on a weekend. Predatory. So she had to wait 2 days until Monday to be seen by the same vet on a weekday for half that. Predatory. The vet doctor, himself, was young, good at his job and thoughtful. When I paid over $500 to have her eye pushed back in and sewed up, (predatory) and was told she’d need to be seen to remove the sutures in two weeks, I asked how much that would cost me. The lady up front told me, “suture removal is free”. So I returned 2 weeks later for suture removal. It took 17 minutes from the time I walked in, to when I walked out. The lady up front was very busy with other patients, but since I was already told 2 weeks prior that I wouldn’t owe anything, I left with my dog. 10 minutes later I get a phone call saying “through all the commotion, they missed getting my payment”. I immediately called back to find out what “payment” I missed. Little did I know, when I asked how much suture removal was, I didn’t ask how much it’d be to walk in the door… apparently, THAT is FIFTY DOLLARS. Predatory. THEN, the lady at the front (manager btw) tells me the only way she can “fix the problem” is for me to remember what the person looked like who told me it would be no charge, from the day I walked in panicked with a dog that lost its eye. I’d think instead of that being MY job, it should be YOUR job to inform your entire staff not to tell people that. Not to let some of them say that, then put the burden of proof on the customer. These places prey on the fact you love your animal. They know they’re your pet, your love, your family member. It’s why they make you pay every dollar up front and charge you $50 to walk in the door, even after they tell you the visit won’t cost you anything. What I SHOULD do, is make them chase me for the next 30 years for that 50 bucks, but they obviously need it more than I do, so I’ll just leave this awful, but very accurate, review for them. Which will NOT BE CHANGED, EVEN IF YOU WRITE OFF THE 50 BUCKS. It’s the principle. Predatory. Sad about it too. I thought I’d found a vet for my dogs. Will never go back to Robinson Animal Hospital again, for this very reason. Dishonesty and implying it’s my job to make them do theirs. Maybe if I hadn’t donated over $7k to the ASPCA over the last 5 years, I’d have been able to more easily afford my own dog’s surgery. Which is what I’ll stop doing now. Why pay all that money to help animals you don’t even know, if when your own dog is hurt, you get told, “500 bucks or kick mud, sucka”? Predatory.
