★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Around two years ago, after we experienced a mismanaged surgery at our old vet, I ventured to find someone we could trust. We sought recommendations from a large friend group, and I performed a diligent effort of research on the top 3 most recommended veterinarians in our area. I landed on Dr. Arvid Edward. From our first visit, I experienced a sense of confidence and trust. I have followed Dr. Edward to Kennesaw Mountain and he just performed surgery on another one of our dogs. He is very cautious managing pain, and our dog has never been in discomfort. Dr. Edward always takes sufficient time to effectively communicate treatment options in a way that empowers you to make the right decision for your pet. The staff at Kennesaw Mountain is also very professional, and the facility is large, comfortable, and clean.
July 08 · Dan LobbThe kindest, most compassionate and loving providers from front desk and throughout. Very knowledgeable doctors, pragmatic approach and with best outcomes in mind. I recommend everyone I care for to bring thier pets here. A customer for the last 10 years and will be one for as long as I have pets.
April 29 · Lisa McAbeeAbsolutely amazing experience! My reactive dog usually struggles at the vet, but the team here made us both feel so safe and supported. They were incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I truly felt like he was in the best hands. So grateful for their care!
August 04 · Taron DuncanThe doctors and staff at KMVS are professional and caring. They will always take excellent care of our pets. Also, they greatly help a wonderful animal shelter — Mostly Mutts — which is a great help.
April 15 · Kathleen LaneWill be switching vets immediately. I got a rescue pup about 6 months ago. Took him for his vaccinations and check ups on the right time line. Every visit with them I asked the vet about his umbilical hernia to make sure it was not an issue, each time the vet reassured me that the hernia was fine and that they would remove it when he was neutered. I called to schedule his neutered and mentioned the hernia as well. When I dropped him off that morning I signed the quote for almost $700 assuming that it was including his hernia repair. Upon picking him up, his hernia had not been repaired and the $700 was just for his neuter. I called back and they said the vet I had been seeing did not document anything about a hernia, which is incredibly unprofessional and if something had gone wrong with it (when they had told me it was fine) could easily be malpractice. They scheduled his hernia repair for two weeks out. While they did comp anesthesia and in op medications, I still had to pay around $250 for the hernia repair itself. Upon calling every other vet in the area, I got no quote for a neuter (including pre op bloodwork, which was an extra $150 on top of the $700 with KMVS) that was over $500. Not only do I feel used and that they raised the price way too much for a simple procedure on an under 40lb dog, but he now has post op complications following his hernia repair. They made no follow up phone call to check on how he was doing following the procedure, which I have received from every other vet I've ever gone to. As well as gave no care packet to take home, I had to ask how long he had to be in his cone and about activity restriction and I had to ASK when to administer meds. They provided me no post op care instructions out right. His incision is now infected and I had to take him to an emergency vet ($400) visit on top of all the things I already paid for. The emergency vet was extremely concerned as to why they did not give him any iv antibiotics or give him any take home antibiotics, especially having two surgeries back to back. I now may have to also pay for a surgical wound cleaning if his infection does not resolve. Which means 3 surgeries in a little over a month for my 9 month old puppy. When, if they had practiced VM correctly, could have been one uncomplicated surgery. When I called today to ask why they did not give any antibiotics, the receptionist and vet I spoke to showed no concern for my dogs well being at all. She said that it "is not procedure to give any antibiotics to any dog unless they do not have a cone." Keep in mind, the emergency vet I saw yesterday said the exact opposite. She was apathetic offered no apology and said that it was basically my fault because she "can't speak to the conditions of my home". Which is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. He has been in his cone, leash walks only, and sleeps in his clean crate every night. If it was the conditions of my home that caused this infection, then he would have gotten an infection after his neuter as well.... To say I am upset not only about the cost of the past month on a previous healthy dog, as well as the stress and pain my puppy is now experiencing , is an understatement. Do not take your pet here unless you want to pay ungodly amounts of money for simple procedures and have your pet not cared for with the love and respect they deserve.
