What Is Worth Choosing
The decision to choose a veterinary clinic often hinges on a balance of a clinic's capabilities and its customer service. For residents of Llano, Texas, Llano Veterinary Clinic presents a compelling proposition due to its long-standing presence and its capacity to treat a wide range of animals. The ability to handle both small pets and large animals is a significant benefit, as it eliminates the need to seek out separate specialized clinics. The most powerful testament to the clinic's value comes from a client who had a pet emergency on a Sunday. The vet and a technician came in to help, and their swift, effective, and fairly-priced care "SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE" in a dire situation. This kind of life-saving action and compassionate service is the gold standard for veterinary care and is a powerful reason to consider this clinic for your needs, particularly in an emergency.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to also be aware of the range of experiences reported by others. A very detailed and emotional review from a different client paints a conflicting picture of the clinic’s service, describing poor communication and a lack of empathy, particularly regarding a kitten who was reportedly given a vaccination while underweight and without a proper wellness exam. This feedback suggests that the quality of service may be inconsistent and that pet owners should be prepared to be proactive in their pet's care and to ask questions. The review also implies that the experience can be very different between a dire, life-threatening emergency and a routine wellness visit.
In conclusion, Llano Veterinary Clinic is a valuable and well-established resource in the community, especially for those with large animals or those facing an emergency. The clinic has proven its ability to rise to the occasion in a crisis, which is a rare and commendable quality. However, for routine care, it may be prudent for pet owners to go in with a clear list of questions and to ensure they receive a detailed report on their pet's health. By managing expectations and focusing on the clinic’s demonstrated strengths, residents can find a reliable partner in their pet’s health.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The following was my experience at Llano Vet. They all have poor communication skills, and even worse people skills. The veterinarian was too busy being condesending to notice my kitten's lower lip had been torn from his gums and he needed stiches, which was the reason I brought him in. They also ignored that my kitten was too under weight to receive his first shot but gave it anyway and he was violently ill for 3 days. I paid for a "wellness" exam that never happened. They did not even weigh him. I was so worried for him and worried if I had enough $$ that I did not see these things going on right away. I took my kitten to a better place in Kingsland, had my concerns validated, and of course, paid again. Worth it I think because the tiny guy is well and healing nicely. Looking back, it breaks my heart to bear witness to such behavior by people who appear to prey on desperation, illness, and injury for personal gain.NOTE: Because anger brings anger and hurt brings hurt. This post will be deleted on October 22nd, 2025 (30 days) in an attempt to extend grace and forgiveness to these people and free my heart.
August 22 · Ellen MMy 2 dogs had easily over 500 porcupine quills stuck in their faces, noses, ears, necks, mouths and tongues. To make matters worse this happened on a Sunday. The vet and his tech came in to help us out. I was thinking I was going to have to go to an Austin emergency vet clinic drive 1 1/2 hours minimum, and probably pay around $1k. However, just before we were about to give up and go to Austin the vet called us back, and he charged us a very fair price. I'm didn't get the vets name, but if I could give him 100 ★s I would.
April 16 · Wes LeeI just want to say thank you to Llano Vet for helping me with my dog towards the end of his 10 year life. If I had moved down here when he was a puppy, I would’ve used them for the entire 10 years! I’m glad they were there for him we needed them most.
