Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City Reviews
Kind, patient, understanding, affordable and accommodating. They fit my 18-year-old kitty in for an emergency visit. Unfortunately, he was critical and needed to be put to sleep. The vet gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye and allowed me to comfort him every step of the way. They wrapped him in his blanket and box and let me take him home to be put to rest. I was/ am extremely grateful despite being a sobbing mess. She called my normal vet to let them know after so I didn't need to. I treasured their kindness and recommend them.
Jun 25, 2025 · Cass “Castlevania” BaileyThe nurses were friendly and obviously love pets of all kinds. Hans was all tail wags and happy even though he felt bad. The doctor was amazing and gentle and solved his ongoing problem that had gone undiagnosed for years. He's like a brand new dog. 10/10 would recommend!
Jun 12, 2023 · JennieWent to have my wife’s dog euthanized. He nipped her early in the morning while trying to give him his medicine that he didn’t like and because of that, they had to take the dogs head off to be sent out for rabies testing. Now it’s not about the fact that had to be done, it’s a PA law I get that. We didn’t know about it. The vet tech didn’t prepare us for such a thing. Just asked if he bit anyone within 10 days and my wife showed him and he said well sorry, but we’re going to have to take his head. Nothing like bedside manner. No heads up like, I’m about to tell you something that may be tough to hear, nope! None of that. Just, we’re going to have to take his head off. Thanks for the pep talk. Made a terrible experience infinitely more horrible with their words and the way it was handled. Maybe next time let the grieving family know what you’re about to say to them because like us, and everyone I’ve told since, have never heard of this stupid PA law that requires the head of the dog to be cut off and sent out.
Mar 18, 2025 · Turtle G 570I really wish I had a doctor as wonderful as my dog has, Dr Schaffer. She always calls back to check on Maddie and works around whatever we can do for her. Dr Schaffer is a BLESSING.
Jun 12, 2025 · Charlotte HughesI had the most unpleasant experience yesterday at Memorial veterinarian Hospital. On June 13th 2024 my children, and I found a very sick and malnourished cat in front of our front door shaded under our bench, this poor creature could barely lift its head and seem that it had given up in life, no one placed this cat here which tells me that his last steps were to climb and crawl his way up eight steps just to shade itself under our bench. We tried given it water and food, but it refused to consumed any of it. My oldest daughter contacted nearby, veterinarians and shelters, but all were closed, except for one we quickly rushed in hopes that they would help this creature in anyway shape or form, but when we arrived, they denied us any assistance and Suggested that we traveled an hour to Plains PA, I refused to do such thing because this cat seemed that it didn’t have much time left, let alone an hour after being outside due to heat and without any water or food. I made it very clear that I would leave this cat in their hands since they are the professionals. They threatened to call the police on me And followed me outside, one of them even try standing behind my vehicle to prevent me from driving away while my three daughters ages 10, 12 and 17 were in the car, they also shouted out vulgar language and called me an a**Hole and one flipped me the middle finger. I felt as I was committing a crime or got treated as if I stole something from them, when we all try to do was help this poor creature at its worse time. It is very clearly that Memorial Vet Hospital does not care about animals or people. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before visiting this establishment. If I was not a single father taking care of three young girls, an English Mastiff, a Tabby cat and was more financially stable, we would have considered taking in this cat, but for the safety of my kids and this cat I felt it was a better choice to have left it in the hands of professionals. Once again, very rude people and they forgot why they became veterinarians in the first place….
