Mill Springs Animal Hospital offers a range of veterinary services designed to address the essential health needs of your pets. While specific detailed service lists can vary over time with staff changes, based on general practice standards and customer feedback, you can typically expect the following types of services:
- Preventative and Wellness Care: This foundational service includes routine physical examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and comprehensive parasite control (including for fleas, ticks, and heartworms). These services are crucial for maintaining your pet's long-term health and preventing serious illnesses.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose health conditions, the hospital would typically offer various diagnostic tools. This often includes in-house laboratory testing for blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations for rapid results. Digital radiography (X-rays) for detailed imaging of internal structures and bones is also standard for comprehensive diagnostics.
- Surgical Procedures: A veterinary hospital commonly performs a variety of surgical procedures. This would likely include routine elective surgeries such as spaying and neutering. Based on past customer feedback regarding "dog's surgery," it suggests they have capabilities for more involved surgical interventions as well. Patient safety, pain management, and thorough post-operative care are essential components of surgical services.
- Dental Care: Maintaining oral health is vital for a pet's overall well-being. Services would typically include professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing) to remove plaque and tartar, and potentially extractions for diseased teeth. Advice on at-home dental hygiene is also usually provided.
- Pain Management: Ensuring your pet's comfort is paramount. The clinic would offer various pain management strategies for both acute conditions (e.g., injuries, post-surgery) and chronic conditions (e.g., arthritis) to improve quality of life.
- Microchipping: As a crucial safety measure, microchipping provides permanent identification, significantly increasing the chances of reuniting with a lost pet.
- Client Education: A professional veterinary practice emphasizes educating pet owners on their pet's health, treatment options, and preventative measures, empowering them to make informed decisions.

This focus on making pets feel at peace during visits is highly valued by owners, especially for easily stressed animals.
- Transparency in Pricing: A significant highlight mentioned in a review was the staff's willingness to sit down with owners and go over all prices upfront. This level of transparency about costs helps prevent "shock" vet bills and allows pet parents to make informed financial decisions about their pet's care. This clear communication builds trust.
- Thorough Communication Regarding Procedures: For procedures like surgery, clients appreciated receiving detailed information beforehand on what to expect, as well as clear aftercare instructions. Direct communication from the veterinarian post-procedure and follow-up calls from staff demonstrate a commitment to comprehensive care and client peace of mind.
- Professional and Caring Staff (Historical): While recent changes have impacted some clients' experiences, previous reviews consistently praised the staff, including Dr. Rachel Brant, for being "amazing," "kind," "respectful," and "professional." This indicates a strong foundation of dedicated individuals committed to animal welfare.

Mill Springs Animal Hospital Reviews
So pleased with my visit. When my cats are stressed I am stressed. But my cat, Beanie, warmed up so quickly to Dr. Brant and her wonderful staff members. I am so relieved to finally have a wonderful vet that both my cats and I can feel at peace at.I also want to mention how upfront and friendly they were about their pricing. I feel like everyone has received a vet bill that has shocked them before. But Jana was nice enough to sit with my husband and I and go over all the prices so we could decide on what to do.
Mar 07, 2025 · Maddi De**Edited to add**I left a 5-star review for Mill Springs Animal Hospital a few months ago (below). My feelings toward this establishment have drastically changed since then. Dr. Brant is no longer at this practice, and the welcoming, professional atmosphere is not the same without her. I drove over 6 hours for my dog's surgery and was happy to continue to make the drive knowing that my pups would be well taken care of, happy, and trusted at the hands of Dr. Brant.Previous review: Dr. Rachel Brant and her staff are amazing! They went above and beyond with my dog’s surgery. Days prior to the surgery, I was provided with information on what to expect the day of, as well as after care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. Dr. Brant called me directly after the procedure and updated me on his status. Her kind staff followed up with me the next day to check on him and make sure he was healing properly. She answered any questions I had with respect and professionalism. I recommend her clinic to fellow fur parents who are in need of any veterinary services. 🐾
Jun 06, 2025 · ShelbyLynn HenryOur dog wasn’t feeling well and had red ears and blotchy skin. After seeing Dr Brant and our visit to Mill Springs we felt assured our dog was going to be fine. Her allergies were kicking in with all the pollen and stuff in the air. After some relief from an allergy medicine she was back to being her usual playful self. The staff is super friendly and they checked in the next day to see how Zoey was feeling and if we had any questions or concerns.Very reassuring to know they have our dog’s best interest with her health. Also, the fees are very reasonable at Mills Spring.
Mar 28, 2025 · Louann MasonI'm very pucky about vets and liked the previous vet, I spent a lot of time talking to different practices to finally find one I felt at home with, so when she left I was worried. Let me just tell you I ADORE DR. DAYTON. If she ever leaves so do I. She's caring, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I'm not a number at this Practice nor is my menagerie of dogs and cats. The entire team is great and ensures that we are well taken care of and have what we needs.
Jun 26, 2025 · Kelly JI had an urgent situation with my fur baby and called the animal hospital hoping they could squeeze us in. they were able to see us within 20 minutes of calling! The visit itself was quick but thorough—within 30–45 minutes, the doctor had seen my pup, run the necessary tests, and diagnosed an ear infection. I truly appreciated how efficient and compassionate the entire team was Overall, it was a great visit and will definitely be making it our primary vet for all future visits and wellness checks.
