Mountain Grove Veterinary Clinic Introduce
Located in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, **Mountain Grove Veterinary Clinic** serves the local community as a primary provider of veterinary care. The clinic is situated in Mountain Grove, Missouri, making it a local option for pet owners in Wright County and the surrounding areas. The practice appears to have a long-standing presence in the community, with clients recalling care from their veterinarian, such as Dr. Hubner, spanning over **20 years**.
The clinic's reputation in the local area is built on the foundation of providing basic and necessary services, including exams, vaccinations, and routine surgeries such as spaying and neutering, often at a **cheap price** or lower cost compared to other regional options. This affordability has historically made the clinic attractive to pet owners who might travel a considerable distance, sometimes over an hour away, for these specific services.
However, recent customer feedback highlights significant challenges, particularly concerning customer service and post-operative care. While some long-term clients have reported positive surgical outcomes and a good relationship with the veterinarian and his wife, other recent experiences cite **rude** and **very snippy** phone and front-desk interactions. These accounts also describe concerning post-operative conditions for pets, including little to no verbal communication about surgery results and poor kennel hygiene. Prospective clients should weigh the benefit of affordable pricing against the importance of excellent client-facing communication and comprehensive patient aftercare.

- **Basic Veterinary Treatment:** Care for minor illnesses and injuries encountered by pets.
- **Post-Operative Care Instructions:** Providing guidance on pet recovery following surgical procedures, such as stitch removal instructions (though the clarity and completeness of these instructions have been a point of customer contention).
Prospective clients should inquire directly about specialized services, emergency protocols, and the scope of care provided for any animal besides dogs and cats.

Mountain Grove Veterinary Clinic possesses features that attract a specific demographic of Missouri pet owners, focusing mainly on the cost of care:

- **Long-Term Veterinary Presence:** Clients like Judy Long have highlighted a positive, long-standing relationship with the veterinarian, Dr. Hubner, indicating a deep root and history of service in the Mountain Grove community for **20 years or longer**.
- **Positive Surgical Outcomes (Reported):** Despite negative feedback on client service, some reports mention that the surgery went **well** and that the overall experience was positive, suggesting successful clinical procedures in certain instances.
- **Courteous and Empathic Doctor (Reported):** Long-term clients have specifically praised the veterinarian and his wife for being **very helpful, courteous, empathic, friendly yet professional**, indicating that personal experience with the clinical team can be very positive.

---
For pet owners in the Missouri region considering Mountain Grove Veterinary Clinic, the main attraction is undeniably the **affordable cost** for essential procedures like spaying and neutering. In a rural area where veterinary expenses can be a major burden, the clinic's price point offers a vital entry point for preventative pet healthcare.
Furthermore, the long-term relationship some clients have with the experienced veterinarian, Dr. Hubner, who is described as being a source of **courteous, empathic, and professional** care, suggests that a trusting, high-quality clinical relationship is possible, especially for established patients. Those who prioritize the lowest possible price for routine services and who have a good established rapport with the veterinarian may find the clinic a valuable resource.
However, it is crucial for new and existing clients to be aware of and prepared for the consistent feedback regarding **rude and short-tempered** front office staff and a reported lack of clear communication on patient status and aftercare instructions. The reviews describing poor kennel conditions and complications from surgeries, including a dog licking out stitches due to unclear aftercare and lack of support, highlight a significant risk. When choosing this clinic, the cost savings must be weighed against the potential necessity of being extremely proactive in demanding clear communication and closely monitoring the pet's recovery at home, or having access to a secondary veterinarian for follow-up care if necessary.

Mountain Grove Veterinary Clinic Reviews
- Just called to see about getting my male dogs fixed and the woman on the phone was very rude and didn’t want to talk. After asking my questions I said okay thank you and she said “mmmhhhmm” very rude and not very buisness like. January 27 · Hailie Metheney
- If I could give zero stars I would. Brought my dog there after it was recommended to me for the cheap price, and from what I heard good care and surgeries. Couldn’t be more far off from what I experienced. I got my dog spayed there and when I called the lady was already snippy on the phone, when I went into the place to drop her off there was little to no verbal communication and the place smelt of urine. Lady up front was rude and very short tempered, never even got to speak with the actual vet. Went back the next day to get her due to a really bad snow storm we had gotten, when I went inside to get my dog they didn’t explain anything about the surgery. Only thing they told me was to avoid getting it wet, lots of movement, and to take the stitches out myself or bring her back in 7-10 days. I live almost an hour and a half away. I had tried to ask if she had done okay during surgery but the lady responded with just a short nod. My dog stunk of urine and looked horrified, there was what I think was dried blood on her fur (hard to tell due to her dark color). Looked as if she was just put in a cage and left alone. When I brought her home she was constantly licking and when I called the lady replied saying she’s supposed to. Turns out she was not supposed to because she had licked/bit out one of her stitches, we put a cone on her and we weren’t able to get her back in to a different vet. Her wound is open wide and her stitches are gone. Again, if I could give zero stars, I would. Completely rude and awful staff. Your animals will not be given the best care here. The cheap price is not worth it. February 19 · Moo Dairy
- I dropped my card in the parking lot here. I'm not a regular customer (yet!), so the staff had no phone number for me. They went to the trouble to find me on FB and send me a msg on Messenger to let me know they had my card! Then they held onto it for over 3wks bc things were busy& I couldn't get there sooner. WOW!!!Ty very much to the helpful, knowledgeable staff who went out of their way and back to be sure my card was safe until they could find a way to get it back to me. You rock!! - Dr. Hubner has been my dogs' vet for at least 20 years if not longer. He and his wife are very helpful, courteous, empathic, friendly yet professional. They are very much appreciated. August 26 · Judy Long
